  1. I think it depends on our survival. If we go down he has to leave, there's no questioning that. If we stay up he may be convinced to stay if he thinks we will challenge top 10.
  2. This is what I think too. He's the protégé of Pep Guardiola and will want to set a winning mentality. Also, they have lots of starting places up for grabs so players will want to impress him to get into the team for the final. Bournemouth might get a win at Everton but Ancelotti is another with a winning mentality so will want his side to perform to the very end. Villa have to go to West Ham to win the game. There's no hiding place for us as we have the easier game without any doubts. If they want to stay up those Villa players have to win that game.
  3. On the Stoke owners website they paid 16/1 for the City score and 12/1 for the Villa score. My double was a nice 221/1
  4. He's better at it when he gets some help from the wingers.
  5. Complete performance tonight but Davis really has to wake up otherwise he'll find himself pushed out of the club. He could have cost us tonight. Great defensive display and second half we did our best to push up and press them in their half. Great team display. Trez and Jack really did the dirty side of the game well by tracking back. Luiz was phenomenal tonight and so was the whole back four. McGinn really played well when pushed further forward too.
  6. That's normal behaviour for me every time I read a post from Villalad
  7. When was the last time Arsenal played Villa and didn't have a shot on target?
  8. Arteta is a disciple of Pep Guardiola so if he's got any of Pep's personality about him he won't take players slacking off. There's only a handful of Arsenal players pretty certain of a starting place in the FA Cup final. The rest will all be playing for the other starting places and will want to impress. I don't trust Everton to be at the races but, with Ancelotti to impress - bearing in mind he will have a lot of money to spend in the summer - they might want to go out on a high. It is all in our hands now. If we want to stay up we simply have to beat West Ham.
  9. Unbelievable! Great performance tonight from all the lads. They played brilliantly and to a man worked their absolute socks off. Can we stop knocking Trez please. We've won two games since restart and he's scored all the goals.
  10. The Villa players are clearly nervous and looking like they want to try to ensure they get something from the game and maybe try a bit harder to score later in the game. That's all fine as long as the plan works.
  11. Grealish wide left is going to kill us again tonight. Everytime he plays there the opposing right back has a stormer. With Targett looking like he's already taken a knock he will have a 'mare over on that side without any cover.
  12. It's now in our hands. Win both games and we stay up. Let's see how much Premier League status means to those players in Claret and Blue tonight and on Sunday.
  13. We needed a goal from Man City but what a finish that was. It is the kind of goal you love scoring as a footballer
  14. Pep Guardiola is professional about his management and won't take his team slacking off. However, Watford are obviously just putting everyone bar Deeney behind the ball in order to try to frustrate Man City. If we want to see a few Man City goals we need them to score before half time.
  15. They should concede 3.9 (round up to 4) goals as an average then. My 0-4 scoreline looks a good prediction.
  16. Tonight, I really want to see something like: Watford 0 - 4 Man City Aston Villa 1 - 0 Arsenal
  17. No way does Mings go to Man Utd. He's left-footed and they already have Maguire playing there. If he goes anywhere it will probably be to Everton or Arsenal as they need centre backs and probably have the money to afford him. Out of the two, I can see him at Arsenal for around £30m. However, if the Man Utd rumours prove to be true, I'd be looking for £30m plus Tuanzebe on loan for the whole of next season.
  18. What can clearly not be denied is that Villa absolutely, 100%, have "hope". Whether that hope lasts beyond the next round of matches is another question but all we can do is hope that results go our way. I'd argue that outside of our own results the other results have, Bournemouth v Leicester apart, gone our way. When considering Villa's results post-restart people need to take into account we have lost to 4 of the current top 6 in Wolves, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool. We drew against Sheff Utd, Newcastle and Everton and beat Crystal Palace. I'd say they are all pretty much expected results but, we didn't get battered in the games we lost, which is really encouraging. The remaining games, on paper, would usually be expected to bring a defeat or draw to Arsenal and a win at West Ham. If we were good enough to get 4 points that may just prove enough. I think 6 points sees us stay up but 4 points would not be the end of the world as that leaves Watford needing at least a point to stay up with the addition of luck in the gd column. If Watford lose by 2 or more goals vs Man City tomorrow night Villa will start the game vs Arsenal knowing that a win by any margin takes us out of the bottom three going into the last game.
  19. Arsenal now have Europa league guaranteed, right? Losing FA Cup finalist takes the European place if the winner already qualifies? That leaves Arsenal with nothing to play vs us so we need to take advantage of that. Watford have done a crazy thing and sacked their manager with the hardest and most important two games of their season left. Bournemouth have a tough game at Everton left. They can win that so Villa get 6 points against our last two opponents and we're up for definite. I still think 4 points will be enough though as long as Man City and Arsenal beat Watford comfortably.
  20. Maybe he's brining us luck then? Go on Villalad, put them all down until the bitter end.
  21. West Ham get 5 and Watford are in our gd zone. They'll then ship at least 3 in David Silva's last game at Ethihad and hopefully another 2 at least v the Gooners That leaves Villa needing a draw v Arsenal and a win at West Ham. Do that and we stay up as no way do Bournemouth win at Southampton. Max the Cherries get to is 34 points.
  22. We will lose to Arsenal and beat West Ham IF West Ham are safe. That's why I want them to win tomorrow. If it is a straight shootout between us needing to win and West Ham needing not to lose, my money would be on them. Get West Ham out of the way and hope that Watford lose their last two by a few goals and Bournemouth get 2 points maximum. We stay up then.
  23. Gotta say, if Konsa had sensed the danger a bit more and got back to the line instead of ball-watching he could have headed that clear.
  24. Guys, we simply have to pray for West Ham to beat Watford. If they do, they know Villa cannot finish above them so our game with them will be a dead rubber for them. That will leave Watford with two tough games where they will find it tough to win. If they stay on 34 we need a win against West Ham on the last day and hope the goals for and against works out for us in between. Meanwhile, we need Bournemouth to not take more than two points.
