  1. It cost £71m? Are you pissed? It's in Londinium mate - it probably cost them £71m just for planning rights.
  2. A middle two of Phillips and Rice is like watching bags caught on the wind - they're just drifting aimlessly around. Take Dier off and go back to the 4-3-3 with Jack behind the striker and we will score for sure.
  3. I agree with you TRO. We could do with a big unit in midfield to shield the back four and allow Dougie further forward. I actually think he might even be able to play in the hole (cue the Carry on gifs) behind the striker. We could do that if Jack plays wide left.
  4. You're going to get a Brentford standard transfer fee amount of likes for that post.
  5. will we be linked with a right attacking forward anytime during this window? Was Rashica fitting that bill whilst linked?
  6. That isn't related to us though because that average takes into account the massive wages the top 7 or 8 clubs, plus the London hangers-on, pay their players. For example, if Burnley pay their players an average of £30,000 per week and Man City pay theirs and average of £100,000 per week, the average across the two clubs is £65,000 per week. So, whilst the top teams may average about £100k per week between them, the rest will average around £30,000 per week etc. We are in that bottom tier right now so we shouldn't be paying many players more than £30k per week really.
  7. He's good in the Championship, we will see if the Premier League is beyond him or not. I watched him a few times last season and must admit that he seems to have a very professional attitude to the game and he will probably be a good lad in the dressing room etc. I just hope the size of the club and fee are not too much for him to live up to, as alluded to by Hourihane a few weeks ago, some players have found the stage too big for them to cope with. Hopefully, him having worked with Smith and O'Kelly before will help him to settle in easier and feel at home. I just hope that we don't regret this. Having said that, if we were to be so bold on a British player right now we could do much worse than this lad.
  8. I honestly don't think we are in for King. I also think we were never in for Wilson. Romeo maybe and I could imagine the wages putting us off. Can also believe Martinez too. Rashica was real as Werder's chairman confirmed it (I think). I would rather believe him which then makes me think we could be in for better quality than our media is leading us to believe.
  9. He still won't get a game. Southgate will pick Mount or Alli to play behind Kane. Sancho right and Sterling left he is a muppet My only hope is that Mount, Alli or both are knackered and Jack comes on to score the winner. That would shove Southgate's mush right in it.
  10. Seems like Villa are adapting Brentford's transfer policy to suit our needs. Instead of asking for £20m for every player we sell, we are offering £20m for every player we want to buy.
  11. I wonder how many new players we will have in our starting lineup for our first game? I reckon it'll just be the one (Cash) as they are leaving it late for any signings to get used to their new teammates prior to that first game.
  12. I am glad Steve Bruce is at Newcastle and not here still
  13. If the rumours on tweeter are true that we're now looking at Josh King after losing out on Callum Wilson, well, that is worrying. I'm hoping that is just pure lazy speculation and nothing more. I just hope that, when the window closes, we have strengthened the three forward positions with better than what we had last season.
  14. Many flaws in your post. Loftus-Cheek for £20m? Really? They'd want at least £30m for him. Stones? I wouldn't take him for free. You can't sell someone for nothing. You let them go for nothing. But, you need someone to take them and, on their wages, it will be highly unlikely.
  15. Good idea because we don't want him seeing your praise and fooking off ala Gary Cahill and everyone else you've bigged up.
  16. No Grealish when we lack creativity and no Mings when we need a left-sided centre back against ICELAND ffs. How can he justify playing Dier when he is a central defensive midfielder who can hardly get a game at his club? Are the sponsors picking the England team?
  17. We seriously do not want/need Wilson. Sign Watkins and play him down the middle and Wes can join him in a couple of moths if we aim to play a front two - Samatta can play until then.
  18. Maybe we are looking at foreign players but because leagues across Europe have stopped and started at different times we want to see them play for their national teams to see what their performances/fitness levels are like following lockdown?
  19. Also career ruining. We shouldn't be spending a penny on this guy. He's missing 63 games in 3 years which is about 60% of their games?
  20. I don't know who the middle brother is but all I know is that a guy I manage at work knows their Dad and he's told me that the middle brother is the one who is thought the most highly rated. As it is, well done Jacob. Prove the others wrong and do the biz lad.
  21. Southgate is such a f**king tosspot for not putting Grealish on. Ward-Prowse, Foden and Sancho did sweet FA in that game. Grealish couldn't have done any less with 20 minutes at the end.
  22. Wow, that would be showing high level excitement at making your debut!
  23. I'm no expert on sell-on clauses but I'm willing to take a wild guess that Brentford get £20m of any sell-on fee for Tarkowski?
  24. That is not lost on me, Sully. I have said all last season a that, if we could stay up, those players who are new to the country or Premier League, or both, would be better next (this) season because they would be more settled and have that first season's experience under their belts. I expect Konsa, Mings, McGinn, Luiz, Wesley, Guilbert, Targett, Trezeguet all to be better. I suspect with El Ghazi that we have a player on our hands who is one that will never reach his full potential for whatever reason. He is too quick to sulk and play within himself. I think Davis just doesn't have the natural instincts of a goalscorer and will sadly become a player who excels in the Championship as best. Hourihane is nearer to 30 than 20 and just doesn't have the pace nor physicality for the top flight. He has his talents but they are more at home in the Championship imo.
