Fulham scored three against Leeds last week and I can see them scoring against us too. So, we need at least two to have a chance of winning IMO and I'm not so certain we will get two. I predict a 1-1 draw.
Is putting Traore, Watkins, Cash and Martinez into the starting lineup instead of El Ghazi, Wesley, Guilbert and Heaton going to be enough?
Just asking?
This is the team I want to see tomorrow night:
--------------------Martinez------------------
Cash-----Konsa-----Mings-----Targett
--------------Luiz---------McGinn-------------
Traore-----------Grealish--------Trezeguet
----------------------Watkins--------------------
Subs: Steer, Hause, Elmohamady, Hourihane, Ramsey, El Ghazi, Davis.
I like players who show great determination and aggression too. It is a physical sport of man against man (or woman v woman) where being weak isn't really an option. They don't work out in the gym so much just to shake hands. It's a physical game and I like the way Freddie goes about his business on the pitch.
I watched a YouTube video compilation of him and his goals were all scored past 'keeper's that were weaker than my piss. They were like ghosts - everything seemed to go through them.
Limpid I never knew my phone had a dark mode until I read that reply. Cheers for the advice. Just goes to show that something said in jest can lead to enlightenment
If the links to Wylan Ciprien are true it certainly suggests the Rashica chase is well and truly over. However, Ciprien looks like he can do a bit of everything in midfield so looks like he'd a big help to Dougie and McGinn in there.
Dare I say it that he looks like he could play the McGinn role if we had a more attacking central midfielder?
I think it looks snazzier. Clean, crispy, modern, you know. It is however very white.
Shame we couldn't get a bit more claret and blue into it. I mean, my missus is going to moan like f*** when I wake up for my middle-of-the-night piss and I'm lighting up the room by checking VT to see if there's any transfer developments.
What more do we need guys? And, what do you think we will actually get?
We have signed:
Martinez - Looks an upgrade on what we had but time will tell. Already gained us 2 points?
Cash - Looks a great crosser of the ball. Early days to say whether he's an upgrade as he hasn't been tested defensively yet.
Traore - Scored a belter but time will tell if he's an upgrade on Trez and/or El Ghazi.
Watkins - Looks to be an upgrade in the striker dept but, the league is his bread and butter so needs to score at level to show he's an upgrade on what we have already. I have confidence in him to do so.
Is this enough?
Who steps in to create things if Grealish is suspended or injured?
Who steps in if McGinn is out of form, suspended or injured?
If Engels is crocked or out of favour, who steps in if Konsa is out of form, suspended or injured?
For me, they're the three key areas now. A creative midfielder (really need to make Rashica happen) followed by a CB if Engels has lost the plot and then a CM who can go box to box (is it too early for Ramsey?).
Followed by Richard O'Kelly on his right arse cheek, John Terry on his left and, Craig Shakespeare on his knob so everytime he goes for a piss he gets to shakey Shakey.
So, he's played for Chelsea, Ajax and Lyon - all Champions League clubs and top clubs in their respective countries? He cannot be that bad then surely?
Whether he meant the goal or not is irrelevant - he scored! That's the only thing that matters.
The most impressive thing about Ollie Watkins? He gets into goalscoring positions. THAT is the reason he scores so many simple goals because he IS a natural goalscorer and has that nous to get into the right position to score.
I am greatly impressed by him.
