  1. He shouldn't have been on the sideline when Adams crosses and Cash handball's because he's 1 v 2? Sbouldnt have left McGinn on their centre back for the first foal? He was pants.
  2. Poor today and more anonymous than anonymous.
  3. I'm thinking that, if I'm a keeper and a player puts one in the top corner from a central position, I'm going to put someone on the other post next time so I've more chance of reaching it if he does it again. Second time, Emi didn't even move. It was poor, sorry.
  4. Sorry but I think he's been largely poor. He's scored in one PL game and if it wasn't for that hat trick he's be slaughtered game after game. His workrate isn't what I expected and its something he needs to improve on for sure.
  5. My biggest fear is that Dean Smith has more belief in certain players than they are capable of. The first on my list in Tyrone Mings. He was capable of a mistake in the championship and nothing has changed. He's a collossus and if capable enough would easily be Captain material but, even without Grealish, I wouldn't make him Captain. A true leader, today, would not have left McGinn 1 v 1 with their tallest player at a free kick. Then, we concede a goal from a central free kick 20+ yards from goal. The same scenario arises shortly afterwards and, if I was Captain or part of the defence, I'd be telling the keeper we are having one on the same post. It didn't happen. In fact, the wall was wide apart and Mings was the only one that didn't jump. Watkins didn't pressure the Leeds centre backs at all last game and he produced the same performance again today. As the lone striker you simply cannot stroll through a game hoping for the ball to find you. He is young and has little PL experience but he needs to learn quick otherwise a fit Wesley will be taking that starting position. McGinn. No way is he the same player we had in the Championship and, at the start of last season. If he is we will need to look at that position because today he was anonymous. I mean, he was better post lockdown last season and that's saying something. Barkley. He has to instruct him to pass the ball to other players and not just Grealish. Was it any coincendenxe that Trezeguet had three chances second half when they started playing the ball that way? First half, everything went through Grealish. Traore even went his side of the pitch looking for the ball. We have to stop this otherwise we become way too easy to play against.
  6. Watkins would be slaughtered every game if he hadn't bagged a hat trick v Liverpool. He's been poor in the last three games.
  7. Cash wasn't out of position - Mings was on the sideline and Konsa followed him across. Both centre backs were between the side of the 18 yard box and the sideline, that's how far across the pitch they drifted. That's where Targett and Grealish should be - not centre backs. It was appalling from them. Cash was 1 v 2 and way too exposed. He made a bad decision because he should've seen red.
  8. We're shit today so you're right to have a go. It all stems from the back though as they started the game so slowly. I actually feel sorry for Targett playing with Mings on his inside as he has been shocking today. McGinn is poor also and just a passenger. Our attacking play has been sluggish and again, all relies on what Jack does. That's the problem having Barkley in the side, he's always passing the ball to Jack. I felt it was the right decision to switch Trez for Traore but you could see his frustration when he went looking for the ball over on Jack's side of the pitch. For the record, Cash has been poor. He was lucky not to see red for that handball as he was last man. But, where the hell were Mings and Konsa?
  9. If any Villa fan here thinks we will not Concede 5 or 6 today they're in cuckoo land. We have nothing going forward. How can we expect to do anything positive when our midfield is missing a player (McGinn) and the defence is also missing a player (Mings)?
  10. It's lockdown lads! Clearly they're worried of catching the virus from those people who have been patting down on the coast.
  11. Mings is hugely disappointing for marking space when McGinn is marking their giant centre half. Martinez has played a few dodgy balls out from the back when we've had two players spare on the right. The goal was bad defensively but should never have happened. A foul throw led to a free kick that wasn't so we were unlucky. But, you make your own luck and we've been terrible. Watkins has been so lazy and again allowing their centre backs way too much time on the ball like he did against Leeds - nothing learnt there. McGinn has done nothing in this game. No way is he back to his best.
  12. Actually, after the last lockdown was lifted, all games were free as long as you had a subscription so you're not exactly right there. These are unprecedented times for all and those involved with charging for these games are multi million or multi billion pound institutions that an make do whilst the average football fan tries to get by in uncertain times. They could bring us some enjoyable times and distraction from the worries of everyday life at no extra cost but, they're choosing not to.
  13. We certainly do. This man is a Villa fan and starred in the movie In Bruges. Maybe he started the connection for us and really is more a secret agent than hitman?
  14. Surprised you missed how he swapped around McGinn and Barkley v Leicester which happened before we went on to win the game. Does that not class as an in-game tactical decision? He said he did it because they were playing through our midfield too easily first half.
  15. Can't see Fulham or Albion being on PPV much, they're going down, down, again and again.
  16. I didn't think we pressed enough. We gave Ayling far too much time on the ball to play long-range pass after long-range pass to set them off.
  17. Don't worry Deano, you not alone. Ralph Hassenhutl(?) is now better than Carlo Ancellotti. Just goes to show that, without fans, any team can beat any team. Southampton did Everton today what Leeds did to us. Although, I actually think we created more against Leeds and wasn't down to them at half time.
  18. Dean Smith set a club record winning streak and has taken us to Wembley in consecutive seasons.... Just saying
  19. In that Wolves footage numbers 8, 9 and 11 look really talented. Are they Carney, Aaron and Louie? Louie Barry reminds me Tony Morley in the way he runs with the ball.
  20. Watkins does generally work hard but I thought he didn't work as hard as he could have, or we needed him to, against Leeds. He needed to make sure that Ayling stopped getting so much time to lift his head and pinging long-range passed through our midfield. He should have blocked him off but didn't. That's something he needs to learn.
  21. That's a very good point. Maybe we need to look at switching Grealish more during games.
  22. I really like Matty Cash, I think he's looked a great signing so far. But, I do think that our fans cut him more Slack than Matt Targett. What I mean is, in the last three games he's been absolutely singled out by the opposition because all of Liverpool's (Jota and Robertson), Leicester's (Barnes and Justin) and, Leeds' (Harrison and Alioski) have pummelled us with attacks down Cash's side. It's as if our opponents see him as a weak link. Or, maybe see that side as a weak link? Last night, cross after cross came into our box from that side. If the same happened from the other side and Targett was being let down by Grealish not tracking back would he be slagged off or felt sorry for? Like I said, I really like Cash and think he's an excellent signing. He has been way over-worked in the last three games and for a while I think opponents may continue to play down that side as it would have looked weak to opposition managers due to Cash having zero cover. I hope the coaching team come up with a way of protecting him more.
  23. Dougie was far from poor. First half he nicked the ball off a Leeds player just as we was about to shoot from the edge of the box. He also made two great tackles on one quick counter that they had where they were something like 4 v 2 on us.
