  1. It was a coming together which the ref allowed to ignore and let play continue. Good decision. Hope he doesn't bottle it when he has to send Azpilicueta off for a second bookable, which will happen.
  2. One thing that's missing is Mings playing the ball out from the back. He often pings long passes into the channels for Watkins to run into or, even into his feet. Hause hasn't been able to go that so far tonight.
  3. It was questioned how Traore would track back against a better team and it showed when he didn't track Chilwell. However, he wasn't alone in blame for the goal. McGinn and Luiz both failed to read the danger of Giroud as Konsa went to the near post. To be fair, Chelsea have done what every other team - that has had success against us this season - has done and that's attack us down the right side of our defence. We just need to move the ball quicker and stop holding on to it too long individually.
  4. Last few games Jack's played behind the striker with El Ghazi wide left. That's how it should stay.
  5. I actually thought that Hause was MOTM yesterday and that it was Jack's quietest game this season. That's how good he's become though.
  6. El Ghazi is 4 in 4 so no way can, or should, he be dropped. Leave him where he is most effective, out wide left. Traore is clearly playing in his best position and Jack, despite how well he's played wide left, has always said that his favoured position is in that number 10 role behind the striker, at the tip of the midfield. Whilst they're playing like they are there's absolutely no way we should change it.
  7. Micah Richards said yesterday that, during his time at Villa, Smith would train 10 v 11 and it was all about the 10 attacking. Smith has the right mental attitude and that is to go into every game trying to win it, no matter who we play. It's so refreshing. But, beyond that, you just have to be impressed with the football we are playing. We must be one of the most entertaining teams to watch in world football, right now.
  8. The first card wasn't a yellow, that was a pathetic decision by the ref. However, the second was a yellow and an absolute brainfart by Mings. For me, Mings has been the weakest link in all of the defensive part of the team this season. I still want him in the side for his leadership skills but, I really do think there's room for improvement from him as he's better than what he's showing.
  9. Quietest game this season and still should have scored one and had at least one assist. Phenomenal player.
  10. Another one who is learning his trade now at the very top level. He got off to a flyer and raised expectations too high but, game by game, he's raising his game. Brilliant performance today
  11. Said it before, Anwar is so much better when he's happy. When he's smiling he plays his best football. He's a perfect example of a confidence player and he's doing great right now. So happy for him
  12. My man of the match today. Was dubious about him coming in for Konsa but has played brilliantly and so happy for him today for scoring that goal. Brilliant performance
  13. Always thought he was good but now he looks great. Fantastic signing.
  14. D'ya know why? He's learning! Deano said it before a ball was kicked last season, he's new to the league and learning as a manager. Imagine how good he will be in a few years' time? Leave him alone no matter what goes wrong. Deano is the real deal.
  15. NEVER criticise this man again. We're the best Villa team we've witnessed in a very long time. Brilliant performance and, I knew it. I said that we would be better against ten men when Mings was sent off and it proved to be right. Well done Dean
  16. I have always liked Targett and think he's definitely improved this season. We all need to remember that his flank is the one that Grealish has mainly played down in the last year and when Jack goes looking for the ball Targett has been largely alone to deal with attacks down his side.
  17. There is one very important person who is key to Jack staying at the Villa - Dean Smith. It's during Dean's management that Jack has been called into the England team. He's a Brummie and a fellow Villan so Jack knows he has a manager who he can trust 100% and who wants the same for the club has he does. He could go elsewhere and have a German manager one day and an Italian the next. Jack will earn enough money during his career to live the dream life. His dream in his profession is to make his club successful again and he knows he has the ability to drag it there. He's going nowhere.
  18. Keyblade, the lad is living the dream. Amazing ability, all the limelight, killer looks and Captain of the club he loves whilst being managed and coached by fellow Villans. It's all easy for him and he's personally dragged this club back to where it belongs and now moving it higher. I can't wait for the day we see Jack Grealish lifting a trophy whilst wearing the Captain's armband.
  19. Imagine having to train with him every day and face this humiliation...... The man is now playing with the highest amount of confidence and one day the biggest clubs in Spain will come knocking.
  20. Brilliant tonight. When he plays like that we can have Jack playing off the striker and dominating teams.
  21. Best player in this league by far this season. So proud that he's a Villa supporter and doing his very best for our cause. Immensely talented footballer who will take us back to the big time.
  22. For me, Ezri has been the best Villa defender this season. Hardly a mistake to mention and been a threat at the other end too. The Euros await.
  23. Is there a stat for expected VAR screw-ups per game? That seems the only stat go look out for these days.
  24. Yep, if he'd scored with the part they measured from they'd have disallowed it for handball.
