Gerrard should've gone back to a rigid back four at half time. Neither full back have done anything good going forward. He should've taken off JJ and brought on Ings to play down the middle. Got Buendia and Watkins playing out wide and helping out their full back. That would allow Luiz and McGinn to stay more central and get a foothold in the game. They could then get more of the ball and get it to Coutinho more.

Watkins is seriously pissing me off. Whenever the ball goes near him it is as if the ball is stuck in cement - it just stops dead. He's killing all our attacks. I'd personally take off JJ today and put Watkins out wide left with Ings going down the middle. Watkins will have more space against Trippier and get the ball to feet more than to his head. Put Coutinho through the centre behind Ings and keep getting him on the ball.

There's only one player who hasn't done anything wrong so far and that's Mings. Martinez poor on goal and kicks, Cash can't do anything when having the chance going forward, Digne constantly out of position, JJ anonymous, Luiz rubbish set-pieces and bad passing, McGinn giving the ball away, Coutinho anonymous, Buendia too. Watkins a passenger who can't control or keep a ball.

Neville is right, our centre backs need to be braver and drive into the gap to develop the attacks.

It's a scrappy game and we usually lose these. We need to get a foot on the ball and control possession. We haven't strung many passes together and just keep hitting it long up to Watkins to lose. It is dire to watch so far.

There is a huge gap in the centre of midfield. The reason? McGinn dropping to right back. JJ dropping to left back and done so for the full backs to bomb forward. It isn't working. They are stopping us and we are looking for an out-ball that isn't there or trying one over the top - see McGinn earlier. Coutinho just has to drop deeper to get on the ball and Luiz needs to be available at all times to receive it.

True, just like if you're going to accuse someone (wrongfully) of "attacking you" you may wish to not use a clown in response to a simple mistake.

How have I attacked you? I only said that I wonder which game you watched. For the first, he was dispossessed and they scored. For the second he failed to win the header although, I accept that Luiz made that challenge difficult. For the third he miss-kicked the ball straight to the player who scored.

We have to finish this season string in order to sign Phillipe permanently as he is just different class. He is, AT LAST, that number 10 we've been praying for since his fellow countryman Juninho slipped through Doug's wallet all those years ago. Keep him and build that team around him.

Yep, I'm sick of seeing that too. He makes too many mistakes that lead to goals - simples. Konsa was poor too by his standards but his mistakes didn't lead to goals.

He certainly didn't compete with James who is nearly a foot shorter than him. The first goal will be labelled his fault but, I think he was unlucky. Rodrigo was offside and he was the one who caused Mings to screw up so that could have been ruled out. Also, the shot wasn't close to goal and not in the corner, I thought Emi was a bit slow getting down to that. The second goal is mainly on him. To not win that aerial duel seems just odd. The third goal is clearly on him too after not making that clearance. One thing I noticed about that third goal; he's not marking anyone. He marks the space but, he was static. Players are usually bouncing and on their toes. He was stood almost still and only moved when the ball was delivered into the area. Something has happened. Something has changed. Look how many times Targett cleared at the back post. Digne also did a great clearance tonight. There is something not right about those central two. They've been together for pretty much three seasons now and I don't think they will be for a fourth. I see Gerrard bringing in a new starting centre back for sure.

Has Konsa been replaced by a doppelganger tonight? That was the biggest braifart I've seen in ages. You cannot elbow someone like that when on a yellow. Brainless decision from him. Terrible game from him. We lose this tonight and it is firmly on Konsa, Mings and possibly, Martinez in my opinion.
