  1. Give it a break. Vlaar is the only person to blame. Their player threw themselves down, but you hit their ankle in the penalty area and it's always going to happen. What you are saying is very debatable but, even if you were given the benefit of the doubt, you cannot justify how Clattenberg has failed to show any yellow cards to Everton players or given more free kicks for the constant fouling of Grealish and Delph. The ref is a cheat and I wouldn't be surprised if one day he is exposed for taking bribes.
  2. This ref is having a mare by not producing yellows to cut out the persistent fouling of our players. Also, that pen is never a pen. He's going away from goal and he wouldn't have even got to the fecking ball. Twattenburg is a cheat and has probably put his match fee on Everton to win this.
  3. I think it is wrong to write off other club's chances of staying up because they have teams in the top two or three to play. Chelsea will be Champions at the weekend and will have very little to play for after that. As the season comes to an end, Arsenal will start to have eyes on the cup final and may start to take the foot off the gas a little. Club's might decide they don't fancy the prospect of the Europa League next season and drop off as a result of that. I can see this going to the last day. To avoid that, I really think we need to win our next two games.
  4. People need to remember that we probably wouldn't have been playing against Man City last week if it wasn't for Guzan's performances in the last couple of seasons - it might have been Rotherham or Millwall. His mistake was hopefully a one-off and treated as such. But, he's certainly offered Sherwood the chance to change the keeper for the remainder of the season, at least.
  5. He's often looked a very good player when I've seen him on tv but my Wolves season ticket-holding mate reckons that he's too inconsistent for them and that's why no top teams wanted him.
  6. We should be OK just as long as our players don't start thinking about the cup final and avoiding injury. If we don't give the same amount of effort that we've shown so far under Sherwood, that leaves us very vulnerable and beatable, as seen for most of this season. I really can see us needing to win, or at least get two wins and a draw, from the next three games to avoid needing something on the last day to stay up.
  7. I just hope our players, as the cup final nears, don't start bottling challenges or playing at a lower level in order to save themselves for a cup final place.
  8. My mistake guys, I didn't realise that Sunderland still had to play Leicester. I still think that we're going to need around 38-39 points to stay up though.
  9. It's unbelievable that we've done so well since Sherwood came in yet it's arguably now out of our hands. I think it's possible for Leicester and Hull to get to 38 points and Sunderland to get to 37, so that leaves us needing around 38-39 points to have a good chance of staying up. I really don't want us to go to the last game needing something so it looks like we need two wins from West Ham & Everton at home or, Southampton away - that's going to be tough. Even with our resurgence, I can only imagine us getting to the last day on around 37 points. I'm not sure that will be enough to be sure of having a relaxing last game of the season.
  10. By dropping that clanger he has handed Sherwood a valid opportunity to pass the goalkeeper position over to Given for the final and Guzan can have no complaints about it.
  11. Yeah, it was his man at the corner. We need to drop him, although I was a fan, he's now proving to be a liability.
  12. That clearance in the cup semi was the only decent thing he's done all season, well, bar the tackle for the sending off at the Baggies. He's poor and will hopefully be offloaded this summer.
  13. Got to agree with the criticism today because that tackle was typical of his stupidity since he arrived. I'd revert back to playing Westwood holding ala Liverpool cup semi
  14. Guzan has had a major part in keeping Villa up the last two seasons so people really need to calm down about his first big mistake in God knows how long. We're definitely showing signs of a cup semi hangover. With results going the way they did earlier, the last thing we need is a severe beating. Having said that, as poor as we've been, Man City aren't all that. Get them in at half time just a goal down and we could get something out of this.
  15. The good news is that it is hard to envisage this current Villa team not having a go at Man City, which at least gives us a more positive outlook. Regardless of today's result, the remaining home games are key for us. Beat West Ham and take anything off Burnley and that alone should see us OK.
  16. Opinions on VT? Not allowed! I think that all opinions should be allowed but, the shite ones should surely be laughed at?
  17. I bet Roy Hodgson left Wembley today saying; who the f**k is Henderson? Delph was the best complete midfielder on display today and I bet there are a few top DOF's / Chairmen out there who are regretting not signing him on a free.
  18. For anyone who dares to doubt Sherwood's ability, please consider; Earlier in the season, before Sherwood took over, did you ever say that the team/squad was good enough for the Premier League? Did you even consider that we could get to the FA Cup final? Did you think it was possible to do the double over the Baggies over a four day period? Did you envisage seeing Benteke returning to the same player who rocked the league in his first season? I bet none of you did! Another thing to bear in mind; none of these players are Tim Sherwood signings! No matter what you think of him, give praise where it is very much due.
  19. Brilliant today and had £50m Sterling in his pocket. Well played Leo!
  20. Amazing player when fit and on form. Well played big Chris, you're the man!
  21. Brilliant performance today. Just needs to shoot more when the opportunity arises. Well done Jack!
  22. Outstanding and easily our Man of the match.
  23. Simply great today. Well played Ash!
  24. Great to see such a commanding performance from Ron. I admit that I was one calling for him not to play any more after the Stoke game, how badly wrong was I? Well done Ron for shutting up me and many other doubters.
