A guy that I know is close to Grealish told me that the reason he is undecided over his international allegiance is because England pay their players and Ireland don't. Is it pure coincidence that those figures total £35m and the potential Benteke money added to Weimann's comes to the same amount? I cannot help but feel pessimistic about our dealings this summer after yesterday's events. Linked with Gueye and just waiting for a work permit or, was it just waiting for Citeh to confirm that they would take Delph? I think that we were fooling ourselves thinking that we actually have money to spend. I think it will be a case of going with what we've got if Benteke stays. Nobody will blame the club. They orchestrated all this to a) not lose him on a free and make him look the bad guy. Pure scum manipulation by AVFC IMO! lol, well you may laugh but both parties are aware of what goes in the contract...personally I think it's a bit of both in equal measures. The links to all these players, without any coming in, makes me wonder if they are all dependent upon the sale of Benteke. Is it coincidence that Liverpool haven't met the buy-out clause, as mentioned in so many areas, whilst they still have Sterling on the books? I cannot help but feel that we are awaiting Sterling's exit from the scousers, followed by Benteke's exit to them, in order for us to purchase the players we are linked with.

For what it is worth, I hope that Leicester City now buy Rod Fanni to play right back and give him the next squad number up from Christian Fuchs.
