  1. Was it Crespo that was translating instructions to Traore when he was waiting to come on? I wouldn't be surprised if Crespo becomes first choice right back to play behind Traore especially with them both being Spanish.
  2. Yeah, it looked like Amavi was checking out his nose afterwards. Looked a painful one.
  3. I criticised him earlier in the Guzan thread but having just seen the goal again I'd say that he was given a poor pass by Guzan. I'd say they were equally to blame.
  4. I can't blame him for their second. Amavi had full control of that ball and simply failed to dribble his way past the guy in front of him. Guzan does need to learn to kick the ball better though. It was pretty poor today.
  5. I questioned the decision after he was awarded that new deal. I asked; did the penny finally drop for him last season or did he simply get his finger out just to earn a new deal? I'm not writing him off just because of today but, at his age, he really needs to be performing at a higher level otherwise he's surely got to face the axe.
  6. I thought he made a mistake subbing Sinclair against Man United last week and today he made two errors at least, subbing Sanchez for Traore and leaving Gabby and Gestede untouched. Gabby should have been off for Traore and someone else should have been on for Gestede with half hour to go.
  7. dunno rubberman, sounds like a slippery slope towards being happy about signing a millionty pounds wonderkid off of Barca to me. Yup. Too risky. I think we should keep him but NOT play him. That way they don't buy him back #2clever I tell ya, we won't need to do that. Just play him to kill teams and then, as soon as Barca start sniffing, get Clark to break one of his legs in training. He's then out until the 3 year buy-back is exhausted and then he comes back to terrorise again. NOTE TO CLARK: Only a slight break is required, not a career ender!
  8. Three of the big 5 favoured by dodgy reffing decisions this weekend. Man United should have conceded a blatant penalty against Villa but the ref didn't give it. Coquelin should have been given a red card by the ref but instead he let him off with a final warning which saw him subbed and Arsenal keep 11 players on the pitch. Bournemouth had a valid goal disallowed and, even worse, were not awarded an off-side decision for Liverpool's goal. Typical "corrupt" refereeing decisions that go in the way of the "big hitters" in the Premier League. The day will come, akin to the Lance Armstrong admissions, when a former ref, player, manager or owner, will expose the truth about corruption in the Premier League.
  9. I thought he had quite a decent game tonight. Didn't do much wrong and did get forward quite a lot too, although not to the same extent as Amavi.
  10. He was very impressive overall. Yeah he never tracked the runner for the goal but there was also a lot of fortune about the goal too. His engine was quite a surprise considering it's only his second game in English football. Miles apart from Veretout.
  11. He scared me a couple of times with his passes but overall he played well when he came on and looked better than last season.
  12. Was pretty decent tonight but the organisation of the defence at set pieces left a lot to be desired. Still, good performance from Micah tonight.
  13. Biggest disappointment for me tonight but it's clear that he lacks fitness. He was doing OK for about 20 minutes then just disappeared. I was surprised Sherwood didn't change it sooner.
  14. I agree with OBE. This lad is going to be classed as a world class left back in the none too distant future.
  15. Like others have said, there's talent in there. Looked like a faster, trickier version of Weimann. Ran around a lot but made a lot of poor decisions and his touch wasn't very good. But, given time, maybe he will turn out to be a decent player.
  16. I thought this lad looked top quality tonight and our best player. I don't how it can be claimed that he always cut inside. He often took the man on down the line.
  17. Gana's performance should be interesting tonight. Given what was said about his thoughts on Man Utd, I am guessing he will either be completely shit - Stars in his eyes or, absolutely brilliant - Pound signs in his eyes. I'm doubting an average performance from the lad tonight. We are miles away from being a cohesive unit yet so I don't expect too much from them. Because of that I will go for a Man Utd victory 2-1. However, it is early in the season and Man Utd may not be at their best again so anything could happen if they aren't up for it and our new players really want to impress their new home crowd.
  18. Thanks Tim for giving us Villa fans some excitement during the summer, God knows we've not seen it during match days for the last few years! A big WELL DONE to you and your cohorts for bringing in these talented future stars. I think it is fairly safe to say that the majority (not sure about that troll called Daz though) of the fan base are more than happy with the new signings and pleased at those that you allowed to leave. Go and kick arse now and get these talented young lads playing out of their skins for the famous claret and blue shirt
  19. that's one way to celebrate Westwood's new contract! He was injured when I picked this line-up throw him in for Richardson! In fact, you can change Baker for Okore whilst you're at it.
  20. I would actually like to see this line-up: ----------------------Guzan----------------- Crespo-----Richards---Clark---Amavi -------------Veretout-----Gana------------ Ayew-------------Traore--------Grealish -------------------Gestede------------------ Subs: Bunn, Bacuna, Baker, Richardson, Gabby, Sinclair, Gil That's really decent attacking options from the bench! And, the starting top four will kill teams.
  21. To Volare: A-da-ma Traore, A-da-ma Traore, He came across from Spain, To help us win (or - Great) again. or A-da-ma Traore, A-da-ma Traore, He's got no need to pass, Because he's f**king class.
  22. Is the "3 year buy-back clause" meaning they can only buy him back within the first 3 years or, they can only buy him back after he has played for us for 3 years? In which case, would leave us open to losing him at any time in the future. Not quite sure what all that means but I do know that I am mega excited to have this talented player playing for the Villa. No offence to any of our other signings but I have a feeling that Traore will leave Villa fans asking "Christian who?" Welcome to the Villa, Adama! We all cannot wait to see you on those runs where you leave defenders lying on the ground before making the keeper look stupid by shooting through his legs and into the empty net
  23. Hmmm nope no announcement this evening either? I see we are hoping now it's all some sort of tactic to hype the game tomorrow. Strange if it's all been done you'd think they'd just announce it, can still have him walk on the pitch at half time.all very worrying really very wobble wobble No offence Daz but you give the impression that, even if you had an all night orgy in a brothel full of AIDS ridden women without wearing protection, after injecting yourself several times with drugs from a needle shared with HIV positive crack-heads, you would still test HIV negative!
  24. You said "Targets". Would you care to elaborate? I mean, do you know the names of the other player/players?
  25. Me neither! With Traore, Veretout, Gana, Jack, Gil etc the defence is only ever going to see the ball when attacking corners..oh, I forgot about Rudy. Nah forget it, we don't need defenders at all.
