  1. Difference between Sunderland and us? They have two men up front who know where the goal is. That will be the difference between us come the end of the season.
  2. I totally agree with TRO when he mentions old fashioned values. We have a total lack of them, well, apart form when Gestede threw the ball back to Harte in the City game. I loved what he did in that game and it really rallied the crowd. Nice guys will not stay up and we do not appear to have the players with the strength of character to get stuck in. in January, we need to bring in players who are well up for a battle. No bottlers who are scared to put the boot in, we need a bit of steel and spine adding to that team to lift them. I think that the reason so many are writing off our chances is because the team still shows no signs of gelling. There's no togetherness or spirit in their play and they look like a bunch of strangers. Maybe that's what you get when you add so many oversee players, who are both new to the country and the league, to a team that's been struggling for 3 or 4 years. I have tried to stay positive about our relegation battles in the past but this season has me really concerned. I just do not see any spirit, fight, togetherness, cohesion or all-round ability in us to think that we will survive this battle.
  3. They are very good responses could well be the way things have worked here but, for me personally, something doesn't seem right. I mean, Anonymous say they can hack ISIS and even posted video supposedly showing how to do it. Surely, if that is possible, there must be ways to track where these ISIS folks are and, if so, they must be vulnerable to an attack. Why don't special forces go in and take them out?
  4. I hope that the British do not take part in the bombing of Syria. Killing 10s or 100s of thousands of innocent people in the hope of destroying a few camps and weapons etc is not going to help heal the open wounds that exist after the damage caused by the illegal bombing of Iraq. All it will do is give these frightened people a good reason to join up with IS. There are other ways to get to IS and they need to follow them but, I doubt that's what they actually want to do. Fear seems to be what they want to instil in us all and I guess that will help them to impose whatever privacy infringements they wish to impose on us all.
  5. I believe that there is some western agenda that this is all part of. I am not sure what or who is enforcing it but I do not believe that a group of people managed to get hold of all this gear so easily and then went on its merry way from country to country persecuting people who don't believe in Islam. Apparently, more Muslim people died in the Paris attacks than there were perpetrators. If true, that goes to show that they don't really care about the Muslim faith and are part of something else that is discriminate against anyone who isn't part of that agenda. Who is buying the oil from them and selling arms to them? Why isn't that being stopped? Another thing to question is why do they target the innocent members of the public? Why not target government buildings or officials? I struggle to believe anything that comes from official channels these days. I think there's been so much bullshit over the years that I just don't believe anything they say anymore.
  6. On 35k per week means that he needs to play well again or he will find himself being moved on.
  7. He will need to be a magician to turn this around. It was not an irretrievable position when he arrived and it still isn't right now. But, there are absolutely no signs that these players are beginning to find some form or cohesion and that's what scares me most. I'm not writing off the players that we bought in the summer. I just think there were too many foreigners who were young, new to the league and badly managed for the first 10/11 games. I think they will come good and show themselves as some standard of Premier League player but, I just fear the damage will be done by then and they won't be able to turn it around.
  8. I'm not exaggerating here when I say that, for me, it would be the greatest achievement by a Villa manager since Barton/Saunders made us Champions of Europe if Garde keeps us up this season.
  9. Not with the £500,000 transfer kitty the transfer committee will be given!
  10. Our transfer committee killed our chances by bringing in so many players lacking PL experience. They may come good eventually but I fear it will be too late to save us. Say what you want but having PL experience is crucial to a team. Unless, the new players are of the highest quality, which ours are clearly not.
  11. Heard today that he enjoys a beverage or two. Not sure if true but, if so, would explain a lot.
  12. Fair enough but, if that continues to be the case, you might as well relegate us now.
  13. He needed to keep the same team that drew the last game. I thought it was a poor team selection today, unless it was forced on him because of injuries.
  14. Remi, you cannot play Gil and Grealish as wide forwards in the same team. Either of them behind the striker and others out wide yes but nothing else will do.
  15. Reading Garde's comments and thoughts today it makes me think we are going to see a more defensive looking villa. I just hope we are lethal in front of goal because you can't win without scoring.
  16. Mate, you need to calm down! Get yourself together
  17. That looks an extremely painful and serious injury. Who cares about who replaces Jordan, right now we should just all hope and pray he makes a full and speedy recovery because this lad is going to be a star of the future. Jordan, stay strong young man and get yourself back to fitness as soon as you possibly can. We'll miss your presence for sure.
  18. This thread is getting ridiculous now! I know there's a few of you on here who thinks that Garde is a bit of eye candy but all this sauciness is a bit too much.
  19. I think that, from the list of players up for the golden shoe award, we should buy that Dundalk player called R Towell in January. Then, if we are looking perilously close to going down, we can give him a start just so the rag headline writers can finish us off with "DESPERATE VILLA THROW THE TOWELL IN"
  20. I think we will see quite a lot of Nzogbia under Garde I don't mind that just as long as he doesn't get given a new contract on the back of a handful of decent performances!
  21. I would play him right side attack against Everton, especially if it means he will be up against their rookie left back - Galloway. He can see what he's made of
  22. TRO, my sentiments exactly! For far too long we have been walked over and lacked fight. It's about time someone ruffled a few feathers and what Rudy did was fine by me. It lifted the crowd and a moment like that can galvanise a team and unite them with the crowd in a way that can change games. Well done Rudy!
  23. Norwich came close to getting something off City at the Etihad so our result may not be as good as it first appears. That said, we might just have something to our advantage and that's our new players. Maybe, they are starting to get accustomed to the demands of our football and we will start seeing the best of them soon?
  24. What about some good old piss-taking of ourselves? We'll win again, don't know where, don't know when. But, I know we'll win again now Remi's here. (or, change "now Remi's here" for the more traditional "one sunny day").
