Like the poster above, I am impressed with the way Di Matteo's gone about adding a spine to the team. Three tough bastards straight down the middle of the pitch in Elphick, Jedinak and McCormack. Tshibola gives the energy to Jedinak's steel in the middle of the park too. Chester in alongside Elphick. A new right back hopefully. A young, promising keeper. A bit of guile still to come in hopefully, with another striker? That would make for the best transfer window in several years and give me lots of hope for this season.

I can understand your concerns mate but there's a big difference between last season's buys and this season's. For starters, the new buys pretty much all have experience of this league whereas last season's bunch were pretty much new to English football.

Keeper needs to learn to make better clearances. He's young though and young keepers are renowned for making mistakes so we just have to accept that.

A guy who works at my place was a steward in the Upper Trinity Road and made redundant. He has been given a free season ticket by the club and trying to sell it for some extra cash. The ST is behind the dugout. fair play to the new owners if they have done this for everyone.

Well said BOF! I hope there were witnesses there to say what really happened and the law upheld in every way. But, if there weren't any witnesses, well, who on earth would believe whatever attempt at a story they come out with? I certainly won't, after personally being a victim of wrong-doing by the West Mercia Police force! Big man, you will be sadly missed and my only hope now is that justice is served for you. Thanks for all the memories. If only they had players that scored goals like yours down at Villa Park these days! RIP

You do know that you can become a fan of something or someone at any time in life, right? For instance, I recently became a fan of The Cure and got into their music although they've been around for over 30 years. Xia's money is in the club and ultimately he can do what he likes with it now. But, that doesn't mean he can't be a fan of the club he owns or hurt as much as the rest of us.

The mental state quote is so accurate about our squad from last season. It will spread like a disease amongst the new players if we don't get rid of that disease from last season. Keep that lot from last season and they will have to hire Derren Brown to join us, to brainwash that load of shite into thinking they are professional footballers.

He's a fan too and I'd have my say about the losers if I paid their wages. There are players there in that squad that just do not seem to care a jot about playing football for our club. They need outing ASAP so that a new bond can form between new players coming in.

Amavi needs to get match fit again but even so, I'm still not convinced he's going to be all that. Gardner isn't good enough. Not sure that Ayew is really all that great either.

Don't know if anyone else has seen this but a certain well known transfer centre is showing that Wigan have apparently bid £3m for Bamford. If so, we should certainly be going in because that price is insane.
