  1. Whenever he played I did not see enough quality from him to suggest to me he would ever make it as a Premier League player for us. I think it's best he goes home and carves out a career for himself there and hopefully we can recoup all the money we paid for him. To think that Leicester bought Kante on the back of Veretout turning to them down in favour of us is quite gutting. Having said that, if Kante had joined us maybe he would be heading back to France on loan this season instead of being transferred to a top PL side for over £30m. I am sure all of our managers last season would have found some excuse to have kept him on the bench too!
  2. Great points you make their Stan! I said that one of our biggest problems with Randy Lerner was that he seemed like he just could not be bothered from a few years ago and when a gaffer is like that the staff lose their motivation and just stop trying, which is what we saw from the team last season. Having a main man (Dr Tony) that is full of enthusiasm and seems to want only the best can surely only mean better performances from the players and a winning mentality being created within all aspects of the football club.
  3. A certain transfer centre of also reporting that Hull are interested in taking Micah Richards. Got to be lazy journalism surely? But, if they were interested, a part ex with Hernandez has to be a dream come true for us?
  4. Talk of Jordan Rhodes being on the move. He's scored 37 in his last 88 Championship games. Would anybody be happy with him if Hernandez or any other target fell through?
  5. Randy Lerner was a clown of an owner. We now have someone who appears to know what he's doing. He's planning big things in two majorly populated countries - China and India - and is already making friends with the City Council. Dr Xia also recognises the fans' frustrations about lack of communication coming out of the club and addressed that in a full on way that has made this transfer window both different and exciting. I hope the Doctor is here for a very long time and continues the great work he's doing.
  6. With what we have now I'd have to change my original prediction and say we now have a top 6 side. But, with another top striker and, if possible, another attacking midfielder, we could seriously challenge for automatic promotion.
  7. It seems like RDM and his management team have identified all of the same problems that we fans have. It's nice to know we have management at the club who see what we see and are actively trying to redress the situation.
  8. Does anyone else feel that had we bought in the likes of De Laet, Chester, Elphick, Jedinak, McCormack and Hernandez at the start of last season we would have stayed up?
  9. Right back was one of our worst positions for years so I am so happy to finally see a proper right back join us. In fact, I'm Delaeted
  10. I'm liking the skull and crossbones on his top. Makes me think that he's trying to intimidate whoever it he's meeting.
  11. I think the doctor meant to write "GOT one signing done" and looks like he is waiting to meet with the agent/player to seal the deal. I reckon this will be the new right back.
  12. Pacy, international, world class, number 9 - it must be Usain Bolt!
  13. I dunno, we might look a fashionable outfit with Viviani, Westwood in midfield!
  14. Like I said earlier, IF Drogba is the striker that Dr Xia is referring to, maybe the club see him as a one season target man to lead the line and give us that bit of physicality at the top end of the pitch that we all crave for. Surely the MLS cannot be that far off the standard of the Championship? FFS, if David Nugent can still get a game in the Championship the likes of Drogba can! I have just noticed from his Wiki page that he scored 8 goals in 11 games for Shanghai Shenhua in 2012-2013. I wonder who the Doctor's favourite Chinese club is? Can someone ask him on twitter?
  15. We're after a right back aren't we? Well, that's what I told myself after thinking about Fanni all last night!
  16. IF it did turn out to be Drogba surely it would obviously be just an attempt at getting a proven striker to get us the goals in order to try to get out of the Championship at the first time of asking? The guy has scored 19 goals in 25 games so obviously still knows where the back of the net is, even if that league isn't much of a standard. The Championship isn't all that either, if we are honest.
  17. Going out on a limb here guys and going for the world class striker to be Didier Drogba. Plays for Montreal Impact and scored 19 in 25 for them. OK he's past it at Premier League level but maybe Dr Xia sees him as a perfect fit for one season to try to fire us back to the top flight again.
  18. To be fair though mate, we hardly got the ball in the middle of the park. The management have addressed that in signing Jedinak. His signing will be a major difference to our team because we should get more of the ball with him in the middle. We've also got to remember that we haven't finished our rebuild yet.
  19. I said exactly this to my dad when we were watching the game yesterday. Teams will suss us out as a small team eventually and we will concede headed goals due to the lack of height in the team. That said, I was well impressed with the commitment of Chester and Elphick yesterday. Proper body-on-the-line defenders who are a joy to watch.
  20. Balotelli? People have said that he's world class on his day? Maybe a world cup winner? Podolski or Klose maybe? It's surely not going to be someone that could still cut it at top level so someone like the above seems more reasonable.
  21. Could the Doctor be talking about Roberto Soldado? He is currently at Villarreal. Whether the term "World Class" is a bit OTT but maybe the Doctor has that view of him. It also fits in with the "Real no.9" tweet too.
  22. Probably down to the fact he had no attacking talent on the bench!
  23. Gabby, as shit as he's been for quite some time, would still have posed more of a threat than Kozak today.
  24. What chances haven't we taken? We had long range efforts that hit the woodwork so we're hardly in the category of missing chances. I actually think we need to do better in the final third.
  25. Granada was a model of car made by Ford. Granada also a football club in Spain......
