Would anyone, outside of the Irish supporters club that we have, be happy if we were to sign Alan Judge? He scored 14 league goals from AM last season. BTW: That's no ITK sh1t right there so please don't go investing your wages on it guys! Just a question regarding another club's AM that scored plenty of goals last season.

I just hope for those gamblers that Villa_Southerner's informant didn't get his/her wires crossed with the Kodjia deal.

The Dr doesn't sound too convinced with the "I think it's the best choice for us" comment. Clearly meant to say "He is not our first choice and not in the world class bracket but we hope he will do well for us". I just hope the media don't take the piss too much out of Dr Xia for that. Then again, if they do and Kodjia doesn't do too great, maybe next time the good Doctor will break the bank and stick by his words!

I hope that he does join now, for all those who've parted with their money! Then, even more than that, I hope he does have his good head on and tears the league up for us.

We need a striker, attacking midfielder and a centre back at least. If we can't get Kodjia in, we should look at £10m each to Boro and Huddersfield for Rhodes and Wells.

I suppose the good thing for us fans in this transfer window is that we might be able to watch Jim White surrounded by figure-hugging yellow dresses and be able to get excited at something Villa related instead of the totty on view!

Reminded me of Benteke during parts of watching that. I hope that he plays that way if he joins us. However, my concern is that he had a record of being on loan from 2012-2014 and had a record of 17 goals in 77 games during that time. But, if he brings his Bristol City form from last season to the Villa then he should do alright for us. I hope he does well for us if signed, especially for the fee being mentioned!

Fair enough DDID but even when players are scoring freely chances still go begging so us missing a couple of good opportunities every game probably fits in with what other teams do too. We need to be able to create four or five really good goalscoring chances per game to net 2-3 times and we do not seem to do that, especially on a regular basis. I am talking about tap-in chances and those in front of goal within 12 yards etc. I don't see Villa in that way at the moment but I confess I haven't seen every minute so maybe I have missed out on those parts of our games.

I would have preferred Jordan Rhodes to have been signed as we could have probably gotten him for cheaper than £15m and he has been in the top 10 scorers in the Championship for the last four seasons in a row.

I know that any signing is a gamble but signing Kodjia would be a bigger kind of gamble IMO. I know he ha[potential and did the business last season etc but I would have preferred us to sign someone more proven as a goalscorer for the fee being mentioned.

These are pretty much my thoughts on how we create chances. I mean, we hardly create situations where a player could have a tap in. Also, how many times do we have a forward player miss a really good chance from within 12 yards? It doesn't seem to be occurring very often. Our chances seem more to be from players having individual efforts but I could be wrong?

I would really prefer for us to sign Jordan Rhodes. He's consistently scored goals in the Championship for around the last 4 years with an overall record of something like 89 goals in his last 187 Championship games. He has a proven rapport of playing alongside Gestede too and with McCormack playing in behind them that would be a front three that netted an accumulative 58 goals from a combined 128 appearances in the 2014-2015 season. Hernandez and Kodjia have not scored as prolifically as Rhodes and Wells has a 1 in 3 rate in recent seasons. Assombalonga has a good strike rate but I watched his goals compilation from the season before last and it involved a lot of tap-ins. Not being funny but Villa are not that creative a team and we need someone who can be a focal point striker and I think Rhodes will be just that. Also, he is Scottish so that might help him to build a rapport with McCormack too. Add that to his previous playing partnership with Gestede and I think those three would reap havoc in this league. In fact, we could probably get Wells and Rhodes for the money being mentioned for Hernandez. Imagine a rotating front four of McCormack, Gestede, Wells and Rhodes? That would rip teams apart! I think Rhodes could help us play two styles - 3-4-1-3 at home - in order to attack teams: --------------------------Gollini------------------------ -------Elphick--------Chester-----Baker---------- De Laet------Jedinak------Tshibola-----Amavi -------------------------Grealish--------------------- McCormack---Gestede/Rhodes----Wells/Rhodes And away from home we could play a more solid looking 4-3-1-2: --------------------------Gollini------------------------ De Laet------Elphick------Chester-----Cissokho -------Tshibola--------Jedinak-------Grealish----- ----------------------McCormack---------------------- -------Gestede/Rhodes--------Wells/Rhodes---- I think any combination of those front four would see us looking pretty potent in front of goal.

Do you think that our weakness stems from the comfort factor our players find themselves in at the club? I mean, all the top class facilities we have at Bodymoor Heath and Villa Park. Maybe they're just too spoilt? Got to be something wrong at the club when management and players change yet the walk over factor seems to remain.

Didn't Dr Xia's Recon group have something to do with the re-homing of folks in order to build the Beijing Olympics? Think I read that somewhere. If so, do you really think he's going to allow players, that he pays a lot of money to, to rule him? He'll get Recon in and knock down their fancy fanny-magnet pads and have them in a Labour camp if they try that shite with the Villa now.
