Seriously, if we play until November without him and don't improve on what we have done this season, we could well be in the bottom three by the time he recovers from injury.

If you're talking Morrissey (Smiths) songs that suit Villa surely it has to be Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now! I suppose you could adapt songs to suit us, like: My Club In A Coma? Although, there's some songs that don't need touching - Panic! Stop me if you've heard this one before, How soon is now? I started something I couldn't finish. A few of those seem to relate to our last few managers!

In light of Johnny Kodjia's injury news I think we should make a season-long loan deal a priority as soon as the window opens. Get Tammy Abraham in hopefully. Need to try to offload McCormack, Tshibola and a few others ASAP and free-up some funds/wages for replacements.

The only thing that I can think of is that we need new backroom staff. We brought Calderwood in from Brighton and they have not been affected by it in any way. Our coaches are simply not getting through to the players and you cannot just accept that Hourihane and Lansbury have stopped trying since they left their previous clubs. Both are quality players at this level but look like imposters for us so surely it has to be something to do with the way they are being coached? I would not give Bruce the first ten games next season - I would give him just 6. That still leaves the new guy 40 games to get 80 points, which is pretty much what's needed for the play-offs and should be achievable with that amount of games left. I believe in continuity but not just for the sake of it - there has to be a reason behind it. It's getting difficult to find reasons to back him with performances getting seemingly worse. In fact, you could argue that he should have bought cover for Jedinak in the January transfer window and maybe that bad run wouldn't have been so bad? He needs to look at his backroom staff and get tough with them otherwise he's going to lose his job!

I think all good teams have to have that real good spine down the middle and I think we have 3/4 of one with Chester, Jedinak and Kodjia. The goalie doesn't inspire me at all and we need a quality addition there to put more confidence into the defence. I also believe we need a new centre back to go straight into the team. Other than the three mentioned players I think the rest are hit and miss and all replaceable. We need to know the formation/system we want to play and then buy the players needed to naturally fit that system. Bruce talks of adding quality and there's no doubting where it is needed and that's in midfield. Hourihane and Lansbury have not shown anything to suggest they are the answer. Maybe they need to settle in more still but I would hope for Bruce to purchase more creative midfielders and cover for Jedinak.

Me neither. I guess we are basing all hopes on: 1) Player changes in the summer. 2) Pre-season training and friendlies bringing about a change in playing style. 3) Player improvement and familiarity. It's not too big an ask and you could expect that new recruits would improve us, training without games in between should improve us and, player improvement for us as well as them becoming more familiar through pre-season should also improve us. But, that all needs to happen otherwise we would all be forgiven for thinking we are in for another familiar season.

I'd sack him after 6 games if we don't hit the ground running. We don't want another scenario like last season where we waste 11 games and give the new guy an excuse not to get us promoted.

Bullying of any sort shouldn't be allowed or vindicated. A guy and his missus should be allowed to enjoy themselves without a bunch of drunken football fans mocking them. It's a shame because Villa fans are generally a great bunch and I have seen fun had everywhere I've been without incidents like this.

That Jota at Brentford looks a good attacking midfielder. He's scored 12 and got 5 assists this season as an attacking midfielder. Not sure how much he would cost but at 25 he would have sell-on value if he doesn't work out.

Momentum and confidence is everything in sport and the most important thing for us is to get off to a good start. Take a minimum of 12 points from the opening 18 and we'll be right up there and looking to get to the top spot. Once there, we will have something to hold on to and fight for every game. For me, that is not an unreasonable expectation for us after having a full pre-season and a much improved squad compared to last (this) season.

We need cover for Jedinak. That run we went on when he was out just proves how desperate we are for cover to the back four.

This game is set up nice now. Win and we probably send Blackburn down so that will make for an eventful day. Draw or lose and we contribute to Blackburn's fight for safety and could send the noses down. Win-win situation for us and I am really looking forward to it.

Slows the game down too much and does very little else bar score the odd worldy - sell him this summer.

It's not his fault we don't play to his strengths. He needs more intelligent players around him.

To be fair, you could probably add Brentford to that list of top 6 challengers. They're having a good season and will have the Hogan money to spend this summer. QPR might be better too with Holloway in charge. Sheffield Utd have been awesome this season and look like reaching the 100 points total. That's a very good season at any level and if they add further quality to that team they might just be up there for the top 6 too. It's going to be a tough season again and we just have to hope that we are better prepared and are firing on all cylinders straight from the first kick-off.

We also have to remember that, although we got yo within 6 points of 6th place, we had to integrate several new signings into the side. The midfield was non-existent before signing Lansbury and Hourihane but we couldn't expect them to come in and fill the gaps do quickly. Those two needed time to train with their new teammates and we won't see the result of that until next season. Also, we have no strength in depth in midfield, last week's game at Fulham was evidence of that! We need to add some more quality and cover for Jedinak to that squad. Bruce will have a full pre-season and friendly matches to get the team sorted and playing his way. There will be no excuses for him next season but, we need to give him this next, proper, transfer window and a first pre-season before making a final judgement on him. And, even if the football doesn't improve, as long as he gets us out of this league that is all that matters. We can look for better quality footballers when back in the top flight.
