  1. But, at least his heart was in the right place!
  2. I wish the Jag would sponsor us!
  3. The away kit, as mentioned by others, looks like a training top. It's not offensive but they could have designed it better. Also, the home shirt has been spoilt by having too many lions on it. There have been better designs by people on here.
  4. The "Bruce Out" brigade must be a little bit happier if these rumours are true. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that we will be any better off. The one thing Terry might bring to the club is a bit of on-field nastiness. For too long we have been a soft touch on the pitch and that might just change, which would be welcomed by me. I just hope the deal isn't stupid for the club. I would hate to think that, if Terry plays 10 games and we get promoted he gets £5m for his year with us. I know that people would argue it would have been worth it but it doesn't mean that we got promoted because of him, especially if he played such a small amount of games.
  5. This is going to open up a big can of worms. After the Grenfell Tower fire, one of the surviving residents gave an interview saying that he and other residents had complained about smelling what appeared to be a gas leak in the central stairway. He filmed the fire and even highlighted where he could see flickering blue Flames up the stairs. There appeared to be a burning trail straight up the stairs that this resident attributed to gas. Tonight, residents coming out of Taplow Tower in Camden have been saying that there is a problem with gas pipes in their tower. I think this is going to back up the concerns of the Grenfell Tower residents and I fear the final analysis will reveal a gas leak in that premises that caught fire and that will be more to blame than the cladding. After all, the cladding was on the outside of the building!
  6. But, that kit would sell like crazy!
  7. Medical, followed by the offer of a contract, then it will be signed and the player will be pinned down to us.
  8. The deal to get John Terry here is surely going to be huge. If so, all I can say is, I hope that, however long he's here, he plays to his best ability and adds the quality and experience a player of his ilk should bring.
  9. This is such a very sad and tragic incident. You can't call it an accident as the residents had expressed their fears of a disaster with loss of life and this obviously could have been avoided if the landlords had listened to those who lived in the block. My heart goes out to all those involved and who have been affected by this. Did anyone see the guy's eye witness account of seeing the fire brigade on site around 1:10am but they didn't use any water on the building until 3am? I find that incredible and, if true, will lead to a major investigation surely.
  10. Whether the rumours are true or not, personally, I wouldn't want a 37 year old John Terry playing for us. I would rather have us sign a younger centre back that can take us up and become a decent centre back at PL level.
  11. May has screwed up so badly that it makes me wonder if she's done this intentionally because she doesn't want to be the one responsible for negotiating the Brexit deal. By all accounts, any Brexit deal we get is not going to be good for Britain so maybe she's not got the courage to deliver it and tried to find a way out. By that reckoning, I expect she will resign very soon.
  12. I love that shirt on the right. Just needs the Under Armour logo on the left-sided (as you look at it) blue stripe. Great shirt!
  13. The acts of our governments do not always represent the wishes of our people. A terrorist bomber attacks the wrong people. Those kids don't even have a vote and probably couldn't give a toss about politics. The same could of course be said for the innocent Muslim children blown and shot to pieces in the so-called war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tony Blair got a lot of praise for helping sort out the peace process in Ireland. He has replaced the threat of the IRA with a sicker, more evil and secretive terror that, for me, will remain longer than the threat of the IRA. Why, because these people are fanatical about their religion. The Irish had other reasons for blowing us up. The Muslim fanaticists will be killing our great grandchildren unless something is done to eradicate this hatred. Personally, I think it's about time the UK government took Tony Blair into custody and charged him with war crimes. They should then hand him over to a Muslim run state for execution. Maybe then the killing our children will stop.
  14. Get well soon Dr Tony, your club needs you fighting fit!
  15. Free transfers and loans it is then Just kidding!
  16. Given the fact Ellis wouldn't stretch to buying Juninho I reckon you're probably right. I mean, why not pay that little bit extra for him if Ellis liked what he'd seen? That story is bull.
  17. Don't tell porkies, you wore down the battery by editing all your auto-predict Villatalk posts
  18. I bet today's version of Roberto Carlos would still be better than the likes of Cissokho and Amavi. Get him in to coach the full backs how to get forward!
  19. So, now I understand your concerns! Basically, because Reading isn't a large town and has a small support base, you can see them moving to Birmingham where they would be the only Premier League club (if Villa don't go up in the meantime) and would have a big support base to cherry-pick from. However, when the mighty Villains return and rightly take back the glory hunters of the city, the minnows of Reading will then become the homeless dog of English football
  20. I've got this horrible feeling that we won't go up next season. I've seen nothing in that last season to suggest we will get promoted. Bruce says we need up to four quality signings but those last games show that we need more than that. Also, I'm not sure that we will be better with Bruce in charge as the football is just too slow and boring.
  21. Maybe Dr Tony is cautious about the qualities of Bruce and doesn't want to give him any more money in case he has to sack him after a few games.
  22. maybe if Hull come down we can cherry-pick two or three of theirs? I can imagine Huddlestone being a target for Bruce. What chance of Harry Maguire? I am guessing he would probably be chased by PL clubs though.
  23. I would give him 6 games to make a good (at least 12 points) start to the season. If that doesn't happen I would sack him. Dr Tony should definitely go into the new season with a replacement in mind, just in case.
  24. Further to my previous post regarding buying fringe players from Premier League teams; the opposite of that is what Middlesbrough did in taking Guzan, Traore and Gestede from us - look where that got 'Boro.
  25. We need to start tempting fringe players from clubs above us instead of taking players from shit teams. Jedinak and Chester came from the Premier League to us and you can see the quality in them as they've been two of our best players this season. Even Taylor stands out since his arrival in January. The best Villa teams of the last 20+ years included signings from decent clubs and I think that's what we should aim to do this summer. If it means paying top wages to 4 or 5 Premier League fringe players then so be it. You only have to look at the influence Gayle, Richie and Shelvey have had on Newcastle to see how much of a difference it can make.
