  1. On a football note, win today and the players should have a lot of confidence going into the local derby and should have no fears at all. I think confidence is a word Bruce has used a lot in his interviews. I am sure that he can see the qualities in the players and what confidence can do to bring those qualities out of them on a consistent basis and winning games, no matter who the opponents are, will breed that.
  2. I'll tell you one definite thing about Steve Bruce - his golf swing is shite! That clip on the OS just goes to show that you just need to be a brute to hit a golf ball a good distance.
  3. SSN are reporting he's gone to Melbourne. Bye bye to another high earner bringing nothing to the club.
  4. I was firmly embedded in my missus once, then I relaxed and the rest is just a case of dejection and sorrow
  5. To be fair, the left side was beginning to look like it was in good hands anyway with the development of Andre Green. However, that right side is looking mighty good now with those two wingers there.
  6. If his season keeps going like it is, Manure will want £15m for him!
  7. 4 points off second and 7 off the top means we no longer should be seen as challengers for promotion - we should be seen as title contenders. Bruce should be telling those players that a trophy is theirs for the taking.
  8. In this form, surely Albert is worthy of the beasts song: Ooooooh Albert Adomah
  9. Considering he's a striker that cost big money and spends most of his time on the bench it was very unselfish of him to not shoot and lay that pass back for Onomah to score. Well done!
  10. Tell you what Bruce deserves credit for: Keeping Johnstone for another season (at least?) = He's improved no end and catches the ball a lot more instead of punching it. Bringing Elmohamady in = Made a telling contribution already and moving him to right back has given us someone who can bomb forward but actually deliver an end product. Dropping Adomah to start with and then bringing him back on the left wing = A big gamble to drop one of last season's leading attackers and then bringing him in on the opposite wing to score goals for fun. Bringing Davis in AND keeping faith in him = Found a beast to lead the line. Someone who has brought the best out of Hourihane and also chipped in with a couple of goals. Bringing Snodgrass in = Another attacking threat but at last we have someone to pass a thtough-ball. He also takes mean set-pieces and is another goal threat. Bringing in Terry = A very experienced head to steady the ship at the back. Plenty of clean sheets to indicate things are working well and maybe the reason for the improvement in Johnstone's decision making? We needed to stop relying on Kodjia for goals and seemingly we have crossed that bridge and you have to credit Bruce and his team for that. We now have more players that can score goals and a centre forward that brings others into play. Love him or loathe him - Bruce needs to take a lot of credit for all of the above.
  11. Don't know about a rollercoaster but, has anyone else noticed that since Bruce joined Villa Demitri_C posts like he's been possessed by an evil Scandinavian spirit?
  12. Well done Steve and the players! Keep this up now and they will take confidence into the bigger tests against the teams above us.
  13. I'm that impressed with tonight, I am not going to say a bad word about Steve Bruce until at least 3:01pm on Saturday afternoon.
  14. Let's all have a disco, let's all have a disco, la la la la, la la la la. Let's go f@#king mental, let's go f@#king mental, la la la la, la la la la.
  15. Midfielders scoring goals. Not relying on Kodjia to score. Passing and movement that leads to a team goal. Through-balls. Is this Aston Villa we're talking about?
  16. Please go crazy Villa and stick 4 or more past them. It will give us so much more confidence if we can trounce a team.
  17. Get in there you beauty! Loving Davis scoring goals for us. The more he scores the more of a beast he will become
  18. Didn't he once get linked with a move to Spurs Trent? Maybe I am confusing that with the Liverpool saga.
  19. Massive congratulations to Gareth Barry. I remember when he first broke into the Villa team and couldn't believe we had such a talented player coming through. How many different positions did he play for us? I mean, the guy just got on with it and played where asked to play, like a true professional. For me, our current demise all started when he left the club. He was the start of the exodus yet he had reason to go after spending so long here and turning down good moves to be loyal to us. He gave us a very large chunk of his career and I enjoyed the contribution he made to our football club. Definitely one of our best players of the last 20 years. I think the reactions from those in the game say it all really.
  20. Mills clearly set out to niggle Davis on Saturday and was very lucky not to have seen red because that yellow card came way too late in the game. That shows you that teams are now aware of Davis and concerned by him. This is a test for the lad that he just has to accept and learn to deal with. The great thing about it is that we now have a few players in the forward line that concern the opposition - not just Kodjia.
  21. I think it's the ginger beard, wearing of the kilt instead of shorts and, practising the bagpipes in the warm up that might have given it away. Oh, and he has FAMOUS GROUSE on the back of his shirt instead of RECON.
  22. JK is absolute quality and the most skilful player we have had since Benteke. Imagine those two up front together?
  23. Very true! He was knackered after half hour. He sweats more than the Grand National winner on a hot day!
