  1. With 60 points to play for and being just 5 points off second - there's no excuse for not being able to grab automatic promotion. Unless of course at least one of the teams above us wins every game.
  2. Very much so and my favourite part of all that are his last words "five points in this league is nothing and with what we've got in that dressing room we'll be alright". Seems very professional and an honest lad. I hope he goes on a run of scoring goals now and does his part for the team and club.
  3. I think the best post on here, post the Bristol City game, has been from Mark where he says that we just all need to just focus on cheering the team on now and back Bruce no matter what. We are definitely going til the end of the season with him now so just need to support him and the team and hope that we can all get what this club wants - promotion.
  4. To be fair mate, I think most fans would agree that Hogan just needs people around him with an intelligent footballing brain that can read his runs off the shoulders of defenders. He also needs players who can put in decent crosses. Let's hope that he can get all that from Adomah, Grealish and Snodgrass now.
  5. Seems like the media think Villa winning last night eases the pressure on Bruce. personally, I think that the 5-0 victory, and the manner of it, adds pressure because now everyone has seen what we can do when playing with freedom there won't be many who would defend Bruce if the team reverts back to being over-cautious in our approach to games.
  6. Let's face it, Bruce has been right about individual errors costing us. Whelan gifted Derby their first. Jedinak x2 against Sheff Utd. Whelan error again against Brentford. We should have beaten Sheff Utd and yet they went and got a draw at Derby. We can definitely get top two playing like we did yesterday.
  7. Quite right TRO. I only listened to the commentary but it did sound like the kind of performance we had come to expect from this current Villa side - playing tough opponents and not having much of the ball and in danger of conceding a goal. We then scored and just kicked on from there. It was the most sustained attacking from Villa I had known since Bruce took over and, without doubt, our attacking players - Grealish, Adomah, Snodgrass, Hogan, Hourihane destroyed them. The balance of those five players going forward, when on song, should put any defensive unit to the test because they have shown in the past how good they all are individually. Last night they clicked and Bristol City paid the price. If left to play that way from now on I doubt Bristol City will be the last team to be put to the sword. We will beat Wolves playing that kind of football. Birmingham should ask for an abandonment after half hour if we play that kind of football.
  8. I would say that I fall into the category of being "hysterical" because I was calling for the manager to be changed. I saw no sign of Villa producing that kind of performance that they produced today - did you? Be honest? Did you really watch Villa this season, or last, and believe that we could produce that kind of performance and result with Steve Bruce in charge? I believed that the players, if coached/managed the right way, were capable of punishing teams in this league based purely on their individual ability. I didn't think they were world beaters but did believe they are not that bad and could hammer teams if let off the leash. My problem with Bruce was that every time we seemed to take a lead in a game we appeared to retreat back to protect the lead and play on the break, which, against the better teams almost always backfired. It may be a case that it was purely all down to the players, over and over, and tonight the penny finally dropped. Somehow, I doubt it. I didn't say Bruce could never get this kind of performance from his team. I just felt that we wouldn't get it and it would ultimately cost us promotion. That doesn't mean he would never get it - just that I felt he wouldn't get it in time to get us promoted. I am sure a lot of those players have experienced this sort of pressure before as quite a few have been promoted before - Jedinak, Elmohamady, Adomah, Snodgrass, Chester - five of the mainstays of our team for example. I agree we should all get behind the team but, surely fans should be allowed to voice their concerns when they see promotion so possible but see football that leaves them feeling we will not be able to compete against those we will need to beat in order to get that promotion.
  9. Villa have a great chance of making this a very special season for me as a fan. There are a couple of gaffers at my place who support Walsall and Albion respectively and I am hoping for both to get relegated. Mainly because of their dislike and jealousy of Villa. Then there's Blues, who could also go down. What a great season if those three go down and Villa go up Also, there is a mad possibility that we could have three promotions and three relegations from the Midlands six this season with us, Wolves and Coventry getting promoted whilst Albion, Blues and Walsall get relegated. Surely that would be the first time in history for that to happen?
  10. Composes run and finish for his goal. Great pass from Hutton too!
  11. Brilliant goal today - well done Scotty!
  12. Well done Jack! You are one of us but living the dream playing for the Villa. Now keep it going, get even better, and the world is yours lad.
  13. Brucey - I'm hysterical! Thank you for not going defensive and for the team taking the game to Bristol City again and again. It's all we want because we know we have the players capable of that at this level.
  14. Makes you just wonder if beating 'Boro, a top team in the league, has given them the confidence boost needed against the top teams in this league? Maybe we have past a psychological barrier and we will see a different mentality from now on. Let's face it, if you can't gain confidence from that then you never will lads. Brilliant performance today and what we all look for because we - the hysterical ones - believe that is what you all should be capable of.
  15. Steve Bruce, you were right - we are all f**king hysterical!
  16. This is what happens when you don't sit back on one goal leads and you have a player (Grealish) who carries the ball forward and brings players to him that creates space for other runners.
  17. He's flattered to deceive in the past but I think he's now showing us the real player since he came back from his kidney injury. I had hoped that kidney injury, and being out so long, might be the wake up call he needed to get his career on track and, fingers crossed, that's what is what we are now witnessing from him. Long may it continue!
  18. No sign of going ahead then sitting back and countering. That's definitely a change in style from what we have seen from Villa in games they've taken leads in this season. Maybe Bruce has woken up to that or Agnew has had a big say in how we are approaching this?
  19. Is Agnew making a difference already? We are battering these today. When was the last time Villa played with relentless attacking like this?
  20. Their left back was brought from AC Milan where he played as a number 10 lol
  21. If they keep this shit up the Villa fans will be hysterical....oh wait
