  1. Sad news I remember Ray in his playing days. Such a shame to pass with so many years ahead of him. RIP mate!
  2. Let's hope Fulham finish 4th with us in 3rd then
  3. That was a great goal. Besides that, he moves the ball quicker through midfield to the forwards. Just needs to cut out the silly mistakes with his passing and then he'd be fine in the role he occupies.
  4. Adomah is having a mare tonight. I'd like to see us put big JK up front at half time.
  5. Straight up question mate, if we don't go up do you want Bruce kept on for next season or do you want him gone and a new manager in?
  6. There's no denying that throwing the strikers on was a terrible decision and showed him up as having no plan b recently, at least. We had none of the ball so why throw on players who wouldn't get the ball? He needed to replace Jedinak with someone who had more energy and who could pick a forward pass.
  7. The worrying thing about the last three games is that we couldn't score against Bolton and Hull - two of the worst teams in the league.
  8. Derby are finished this season. Millwall will do us on the last day to claim 6th, if they haven't sealed a play off spot already. I don't think 'Boro will get play offs either - they are poor in attack and struggle against the top sides too much. It wouldn't surprise me to see Bristol City or Sheffield United get a second wind and finish in the last two play spots with Millwall.
  9. I'm not defending TRO or anybody else here, just going to give you Bruce's idea behind replacing the wingers (Adomah & Snodgrass) with forwards. He said that the conditions didn't help us and that the wide men couldn't run with the ball so he decided to replace them. Make of that what you will.
  10. Physically outplayed again. We simply can't compete with a physical team that get stuck into us.
  11. Not if Native River goes off hell for leather. See, that's what cost him last year, the race became a sprint for the line and he hasn't got blistering pace. He's an out and out stayer and if he goes off at full pace no horse will pass him.
  12. Gutted for Sandsend as it was finishing really well. What a horse Native River is. Tipped him up last week as my certainty of this week. I was on him at 10s back in January as I knew he would win this race. He would have wine last year's race if Johnson had have ridden him from the front like he did today and in last year's Welsh National. He's a phenomenal horse, the way he won last season's Hennessy and to then carry top weight to victory making all in that National showed what a tremendous racehorse this is. He will win next year's Gold Cup barring injury so you can 0ut your money on him now.
  13. My favourite bet of the day is Apples Shakira, Santini, Native River, Sandsend.
  14. That is a cracking treble - I've had the same bet! I want and hope that Native River wins the Gold Cup - everything is geared up for him to win it this year. My biggest concern is that Tizzard is having a mare of a season. Otherwise, it should be Rivers' race to win. But, if I had to throw one at him it 3oukd have to be Our Duke. He beat Presenting Percy this season and look how that won on Wednesday! Native River, Our Duke and Road To Respect will probably be the first three home. I read an article by Gordon Elliott yesterday. He gave his verdict on today's horses. He said Farclas, Duca De Thaix, Flawless Escape and Dortmund Park are his best hopes today. He's been pretty good at reviewing his horses chances this week so they might be four to get on today.
  15. Having watched our first half against Fulham away, and knowing that we didn't have Albert or Jack in the team, I think I would now rather take our chances against them in the play-offs than Cardiff. I think Cardiff will out-muscle us like QPR did last night. I think we can beat footballing sides but not the battlers. Fulham are more the former.
  16. From what I saw of the game it looked like they were physically bigger and stronger than us as a team. That was a worry for me as Cardiff appear to be exactly the same and unless we buck our ideas up we will get out-fought in that game too.
  17. Cardiff are a big unit too so we will face the same problem against them. We need to play through them in the ground, not in the air.
  18. Cardiff will drop points for sure. They are winning by the odd goal against the more average sides in this league. They've got some of the better sides coming up and that gives me hope that they will lose or draw a few. We just to make sure we stay focused and keep winning.
  19. My favourite part of his game last night was when he got the ball in the right back position and he had three Wolves players around him trying to get it off him and they couldn't get near taking the ball of him. In the end he was fouled although the ref gave a goal kick I believe. That was like watching the best kid at school keeping the ball away from everybody else
  20. I wasn't sure before but I am now. If Bruce takes us up to the Premier League I want him given the money and time to take us forward. He's deserving of that opportunity.
  21. I criticised Chester a lot last season as I thought his form tailed off a bit towards the end of the season. However, for me, he is this season's player of the season. Whilst Adomah's goals have been critical, Snodgrass's assists have been invaluable, Grealish has been inspirational and, Terry's leadership has been immense - James Chester has been ultra-consistent at the back. He's outshone a true champion many times this season and gone about his business with ease at times. For me, there's no doubt, this guy has been the best and most consistent top class performer in Claret and Blue this season.
  22. Steve, I hope for your sake, and for your parents, you win promotion with the Villa. You have taken much criticism, from me and many others, but, without doubt, you didn't get out of this league four times previously by fluke. You are the real deal and deserve more credit than you get for what you are doing at the Villa so I hope you go on the reap the full rewards you deserve.
  23. Faugheen, Vroum Vroum Mag, Douvan, Vautor are just a few of the great horses they had that have gone off the boil. There's more that I can't think of right now that looked like world beaters but then went off the boil. For the record, there's one Mullins horse that I really like the look of but only if it runs in the 2m 1f County Hurdle and that's Sandsend. Through the formline of Kalashnikov's win in the Betfair Hurdle, Sandsend looks to have a great chance at the weights although, if he gets in, Elliott's Duca De Thaix is about 16lb better off at the weights for their last run so he would run him close. They are currently around 16/1 and 20/1 respectively.
  24. Mullins is dodgy for sure. I'll never forget that Annie Power debacle that saved the bookies millions. How many great horses has he hadin recent history that have just disappeared off the scene for one reason or another. Too many to be a coincidence, for me.
  25. I've always thought that Jonjo O'Neil is a schemer and I've got a feeling Minella Rocco will be the one to be on in the National this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see it miss the Gold Cup.
