  1. Regardless of whether he had money or not, he is saying that investment can not fend off our horrendous FFP situation and that it can only be rectified by revenue the club generates, which he then points to player dealings. In other words, we have to sell players for money than we spend on replacements = good luck with that Brucie!
  2. So bad that the shirt bottom right is missing a sleeve!
  3. This is hideous! At first glance that Luke logo reminded of of the Gruffalo from my son's books!
  4. Spot on! If Xia had offered the fans, 2 years ago, we blow the money now and risk going into administration in 2 years' time or, be careful and debt free whilst trying to do the best we can to go back up, I am sure that the majority of us would have taken the latter.
  5. Probably McCormack's new fitness coach!
  6. Zhang fan, is a Villa fan. Zhang fan, is a Villa fan Is it pronounced Zhang Fan or Fan Zhang? If the latter, does he have a relative called Fan Zine? just wondering....
  7. Agreed about Coutinho's quality but, he does need replacing at Liverpool. Someone will need to fill that role and why not Jack?
  8. I didn't say hewas as good as, just saying he would have more chance of getting a game at Liverpool in his position than he would at Spurs.
  9. Something cheesy about this post!
  10. Spurs have Eriksen and Alli who can both play in Jack's area of the pitch. I see him going there and struggling for decent game time. I think he'd be a better fit at Liverpool as their replacement for Coutinho. Mane, Firmino, Salah and Grealish would be lethal for them ?
  11. I can do that for you mate, he is definitely NOT Tim Burgess! On a serious note, I totally agree with you. I think that he had delusions of grandeur and thought that his big gamble of blowing all the money on the best players would pay off and get us straight back up. He came in with big promises and has failed to deliver big time. Question is; whose idea was it to take that gamble? Xia alone or did the likes of Wyness, Round, Di Matteo convince him it was the right thing to do? Either way, it was a careless and totally irresponsible thing to do.
  12. Thanks for the reply! How on earth did we end up with an owner so unbelievably reckless and stupid? Do you know if proper due diligence was done on this clown when he took over or did RL bung someone at the FA in order to squeeze through the deal? This is all so reminiscent of Small Heathens and Carsen Yeung. Have we really sunk so low?
  13. TheEgo, in your opinion, just how bad is the situation currently? Are we certs for administration next summer or could it come sooner than that? Do we have to sell to get through this next season? If Xia stays and fails to raise funds, is there chance we go under?
  14. Would you want to invest £30m in a business that has a chairman who is clueless? He needs to do one and quick before he blows every penny he's out into the club. Sell us cheap enough to attract someone who can invest in the club and pay off the debts.
  15. We were in debt to Lerner at the end though. Debt is debt no matter who you owe it to.
  16. This is how I see Xia's ownership: He came into the club and took away the debt. He spoke the same spin that Lerner did when he took over. He communicated loads with the fans to begin with. He over-invested in the playing side paying over-the-hill players way too much in terms of salary. Didn't get the desired outcome in the league. Reigned in the spending. Stopped the communication with the fans. Got us into huge debt. Now the future is uncertain and we don't know if he has any money to speak of. It's a huge case of déjà vu for me and I now think of Xia in the same way I thought of Lerner during his last 2 or 3 seasons at the club although, I never felt Lerner would allow the club to go under, Xia doesn't assure me in the same way. For me, Xia has done nothing to show me he is the right man for our club and therefore I hope he leaves ASAP.
  17. I bet Bjarnason thought he was playing against Fulham today!
  18. You could have said that for each season he was here but it didn't happen. Right now, although I'm not crazy about Bruce's management style, I'd rather be cautious and have continuity than change the manager at such time of upheaval.
  19. You sure can sack the manager but, in my opinion, that would be a mistake right now. I feel that we some sort kind of stability around the place whilst this shitstorm is happening. Now, further down the line, maybe then we can get rid - with or without money in the bank. Just, for now, I'd rather us keep some sort of stability.
  20. The last time we were struggling with the finances we were calling for Lambert to be sacked. Lambert went and so did we not long afterwards. We need stability, whether we like his football or not. Bruce offers continuity at a time when nobody really knows what the f**k is going on. Once the bank balance is sorted, let's look at the manager then.
  21. That Luke "lion" is the most atrocious thing I've ever seen. It looks like a Griffin or something gothic, not a lion! I think that symbol will spoil the shirt regardless of colour/design.
  22. He probably is one, in Iraqi Dinar!
  23. I don't see the point of getting rid of Bruce. Any new manager would want to work with his own staff so we would have to pay off Bruce and his team to then hire a new lot - why? We would have to look for an out of work manager anyway as we can't afford to compensate a club for one. Keep what we have for now and hope he can stabilise the playing side enough to keep us in the league until a time comes when we can kick on again.
  24. I'd rather the money be spent on the pitch mate than on the local pubs. Sort the playing side out and then look at the surroundings.
