  1. If we had a half decent goalkeeper at least two of last night's goals wouldn't have been conceded. Put a decent keeper between the sticks and we'll win more games - no doubt!
  2. Bruce has a lot to answer for, leaving such a shocking defence. Smith will sort it out in January, there's no doubting that. In the meantime, I'm sure we all agree on one thing, seeing Villa become prolific scorers is a truly magical thing. We all knew we had one of the best, if not THE best, attacking line-ups in this league. Now they're showing what we knew all along - they can score goals for fun! I'm convinced we are going to trounce some poor buggers by 7 or 8 goals this season. Look how many chances we missed against Derby, Blues and Forest. We could easily have scored 6+ goals in each of our last three games. Question our defence all you like but, it's going to take opposition with nerves of steel to try to throw the kitchen sink at us. They all know now that we can score freely and teams will start to think more defensively when they play us from now on.
  3. Basically, if Bruce had signed Lolley we'd have won 10-0 tonight. Bruce out!
  4. That defence needs change. Tuanxebe was as bad as anyone in that back four when the goals went in tonight and, for me, he's been our best defender this season. However, they do lack any kind of cover from midfield.
  5. That's not fair! That ball started out towards the corner flag, hit the corner flag, rebounded back into the 18 yard box and was then caught ferociously on the volley by storm Diana. A million keepers wouldn't have stopped that one!
  6. I'm convinced now that Steve Bruce really did want the bullet from Villa, hence the shocking defence he has left us with!
  7. We need a new keeper and a new centre back in on the opening day of the window - no messing around, just make it happen Villa!
  8. The missed sitter was easier to score than any of his goals! We're lucky to have Tammy and he will top the scoring charts for this league this season.
  9. Deano, this has to be your Christmas wishlist mucker! New keeper to replace the invisible Man. New left back to replace leg-snapper. New midfielder to sit in front of the back four. One who can tackle and pass to one of his own players. New centre back to replace Chester. Whilst you're at it, pass the armband on to John McGinn.
  10. I've heard tonight that if fans renew their season ticket for the 2019/2020 season they are going to get a free defibrillator as part of the package!
  11. It's an experiment that's not working simply because he hasn't got the ability to tackle or read danger. He's better further forward but with McGinn and Grealish in front of him the position he played tonight is his only chance of staruing. However, anyone playing that position has to be able to read the game, make a tackle and, pass the ball very well. I don't think he has enough of any of those attributes. Sorry Conor but I'm hoping that position is occupied by someone else when January arrives. A bigger, combative midfielder is needed who can pass the ball and get stuck in to protect the defence.
  12. Absolutely no doubt! That shrug when that 4th goal went in just made me want to kick his balls until it hurt so much he might actually flinch! There's absolutely no excuse for not moving for that shot - it was closer to him than the post. It was 8f he thought "f**k it, if you won't try to close him down, I won't dive for it". Absolutely poor goalkeeper and if I was a defender in that team I would be shitting it every time the opposition got within 30 yards of my goal.
  13. Whilst waiting to restart the game after that last Forest goal, Abraham was kicking his leg out, indicating to Tuanxebe that it's what he should have done when Grabban shot. He's got a point
  14. He's the worst first choice keeper ive ever seen for Villa. What the hell did Bruce see in him to watch him for so long? The only movement he made for that 4th goal was to shrug his shoulders as if to say "did you really expect me to get to that ball when it's gone in 5 feet away from me?"
  15. Joe Lolley is having a stunner and obviously putting himself in the shop window to Deano and co for January. What a goal but, if that hasn't taken a deflection, someone please tell me who superglued Nyland's boots at half time? Come on, admit it?
  16. My pre-match prediction is still on course guys. Villa to win by 2, Abraham to score anytime and both teams to score. 5-3 it is then
  17. What a crazy half of football! I intended to watch it on the red button from kick off but my five year old son was desperate for Daddy to bathe him tonight and tell him a sorry whilst doing so. His "considerate" Mommy went downstairs to put the telly on so I could listen to it, after a while. She shouts up "I've got a game on - Villa Vs Forest, but it can't be tonight's game so they must be showing a replay of a game from a previous year". I shout down "why?" And she shouts up "because the score says 2-2 and they've only been playing 18 minutes". I said "just my bloody luck" lol.
  18. Trentvilla was spot on with his analogy of Chester. I didn't rate him at all first season. He looked outstanding with Terry alongside him last season. Looks terrible this season. Considering Axel is having a decent season at centre back, is it not having Terry there alongside him that makes him so bad OR is it the Captain's armband, and the weight or wearing it, that's affecting his performances?
  19. I had a Bet365 bet builder bet on Sunday - Both halves to have the same amount of goals in, Villa to win, Both Teams To Score and Kieftenbeld to be booked. Towards the end of the game I was furious with the ref for not booking Kieftenbeld for that challenge on Jack at the start of the game. Luckily, Kieftenbeld obliged in the 91st minutes to get me my winning bet at 80/1. Tonight, I'm going Villa to win by 2 goals, both teams to score & Abraham to score anytime - 16/1.
  20. Massive game tonight for us. Beat Forest and we are possibly only 6 points off automatic promotion with a couple of rivals in line for another lion mauling soon. I don't fear playing 'Boro simply because Pulis will have nothing short of parking the bus in mind. A draw against Villa will be seen as a good result by him so I don't fear them as an attacking threat. Albion will be tougher simply because they have a potent front three and they will set out to exploit our defensive frailties. Having said that, they are not keeping many clean sheets either! Should be another cracking derby game.
  21. You know, Villa score some fantastic goals against Small Heath. It's like our lads save the best for the scum.
  22. Tell you what I am loving about Dean Smith's current Villa - it doesn't have any of his signings in it yet he's got them scoring freely, fearing nobody and winning games to take us up the table. Imagine how good we'll be when he adds strength to areas he thinks needs improving and the players are fully used to his style of football - I can't wait!
  23. What a great post this is! It just shows that different managers can get such different performances from the same group of players.
