  1. I'm sure we'd all be ecstatic just to read from him that a medical has been booked for such day and such time and if passed we'll be signing the player soon after. It's something to get excited about, at least.
  2. You could always see it as a challenge Trent and give us a clue mate?
  3. Cheers mate. A new signing or two would help take my mind off the mesh!
  4. If he continues the right way, stays a long time and always give his all, Anwar can become a legend here. He's very well liked and seems like a really decent bloke.
  5. I think pictures around the concourses of old players in action, together with a little factoid about their Villa career, would be great.
  6. I'm posting so early in the morning because I'm having sleepless nights during my recovery from triple hernia surgery. I only had an umbilical hernia to begin with. My missus, in her witty little way, asked me how I could possibly get a hernia when I don't do anything. Foolishly, in my own witty little way, I replied "what are you talking about - I've carried you for the last 27 years". Strangely, after that, I then developed left and right inguinal hernias too!
  7. Guys, you have to learn something. Having conversations with children is not good! In fact, it can be more embarrassing than talking to the missus. The only way an adult man can have an enjoyable conversation is for him to talk to another adult man.
  8. Just a shame they haven't got Worldie Savealottie and Marauding Leftbackie to complete the team!
  9. Surely teams will wait until AFCON and the U21 Championships are over before finalising deals?
  10. Don't they realise they can buy Brentford for that price, get a new stadium thrown in and, sell three of their players to the villa to recoup their initial outlay!
  11. A few managers overlooked Steer at Villa, not just one. If he was good enough then surely one of them would have given him chance before Smith did? Or, is Cutler a genius at making keepers better? I appreciate what Steer did for us in our promotion push but let's face it he only got his chance because Nyland was injured, Bunn was ancient and, Kalinic took a bang on the head and through the towel in. I think he got lucky in how he got his chance and took it well. But, there's no doubting that, at times, he's looked ropey too. That spell in the second half of the play-off semi-final where he looked very dodgy was a warning sign. But, he covered himself in glory by making two great penalty saves and he also had a good game in the final. Maybe it's a confidence thing with him and he was riding a crest of a wave? Something tells me he's not up to Premier League level but then again, he's not had chance to show if he is. It's a tough call really.
  12. If Nakamba signs and ever gets injured in a game for us, do you think we'll ever hear a commentator say "he looks bloody Marvellous"?
  13. He did ok. You can tell he likes a tackle and he seems to have quick feet when he has the ball and is looking to pass it on. What stood out for me was his athleticism. It was an end to end game, both teams really going for it, and he seemed to handle the heat, occasion and energy well. He also likes to pass the ball forward. I'd take a punt on him for sure. Reminds me of a cross between Kante and Gueye. I should add that he made one really crunching tackle seconds before half time and the player was still down when the whistle was blown. Nakamba went back to check him out and helped him to his feet whist the rest of the players left the field. Second half, Mo Salah went on a dribbling run and cut across the edge of the box to get a shot off with his left foot, Nakamba saw the danger and sort of levered him off the ball, came away with it, then made a long pass that sent Zimbabwe away on the counter from which they created s scoring opportunity. It was mentioned by the commentators that he'd started that attack from his own box.
  14. Nakamba made a crunching tackle on the stroke of half-time and it was deemed fair too. He's got a good, quick short pass on him when closed down. Seems very athletic and full of running.
  15. Elmo hasn't really been able to get forward much. Zimbabwe are underdogs but having a go at it without any end product.
  16. Hagi junior will surely go for a lot more than that - he's a chip off the old block.
  17. Watching him now against Egypt, for whom our very own Elmo is Captain. Live on Eurosport if anyone interested.
  18. Yeah, apparently she likes balls slid in to her from the back.
  19. So Nakamba's dream is a move to Liverpool - been there, done that - bloody marvellous!
  20. I'm looking forward to seeing Jonathan Bamba play tonight. Attacking player from Lille who is very tricky and has a great pass on him.
  21. I watched him in a live game on TV for Wales where he started the game as DM and moved to CB during the game and he was brilliant. I couldn't believe his age when they mentioned it on TV, it was as if he'd been playing Pro football for 10 years!
  22. Only after you've convinced Messi to see out his playing days at The Villa!
  23. Spot on! I mean, they even allowed SHA to take what were probably their best three players in one transfer window a couple of years ago.
  24. You won't laugh at - Withe and Shaw!
