  1. Not so sure about that but, for once in a very long time, I am confident that Man Utd won't be taking their once obligatory 3 points from Villa Park
  2. Bearing in mind this guy's name, I think all our players should have an alias. So, with that in mind, welcome to our new starting line-up:
  3. I think we would be expecting a lot for this team to finish top 10 or 12 in its first season. I'd take 17th now but can see us finishing above the likes of Newcastle, Burnley, Norwich, Sheffield United, Brighton so we will hopefully be more comfortable than relegation scrapping material.
  4. Apart from your namesake, the rest of all your high-hopes have been full of lead shot haven't they mate?
  5. Don't forget Trezeguet and Phillips!
  6. It's certainly come out of nowhere. Also, a fellow Brazilian to help Wesley settle in!
  7. Isn't that the same kind of deal we did with Barca when we signed Traore?
  8. Just worried that we lose out on a lot of money for him whilst he improves to go back to City. I get the picture now. We are loaning him to help City get around the work permit issue.
  9. I'm hoping the buy-back clause is only that they get first refusal on him and there's no pre-arranged fee. I'd hate for him to be brilliant for us and then go back to City for £25m when we could have got £50m for him elsewhere. Also, his YouTube footage shows him more as a box-to-box player. He is taking shots and setting up attacks etc and not sat in front of the back four. Scarily, he looks more a McGinn type of player. Phillips would obviously cost more than £15m so if that Connor lad is right and we're going for both, where does that leave this Luiz lad? He's too good for the bench. I hope we are not looking at letting McGinn go to Manure!
  10. Delete please - also a problem with posting.
  11. I know now why so many want us to sign Bjorn Engels and to play him as defensive midfielder, it's so we can all sing this: And our back four, he offers it protection, A lot of strength and aggression, whether it's right or wrong. If you tackle over the ball, you know that you won't break he, he's stronger than you and me, And if you think he'll fall, you're f**king crazy, He's Bjorn Engels - you're dead!
  12. My only concern about all these signings is that we seem to be building a side with very little Premier League experience. Now, I know that it's not always important to have that experience as it hardly hindered Wolves last season. But, a lot of those Wolves players were top quality and playing for big clubs previously. I know that we only have to be better than three other clubs, I just hope we are buying enough quality to make that happen.
  13. We really need to wait on making any further signings fellas. Ashley wants Steve Bruce at Newcastle and has a war chest of £90m waiting for him to spend plus any money made from the potential sales of Hayden and Longstaff - making a total of over £100m to spend. Surely, we should then be preparing ourselves for £20m bids for Hogan and Elmohamady? That'll come in handy when we go into negotiations with Brentford and Leeds for Maupay, Benrahma and Phillips
  14. We haven't strengthened much overall there. Jota is an improvement in Adomah and Targett is hopefully an improvement on Taylor. We don't really know how good Guilbert is or how he will settle to compare him, same goes for Wesley. Konsa - Axel = we'll see.
  15. I work with a guy that I went to school with. He was a w@nker back then and now he's an even bigger w@nker! However, I've also met up with people from my teenage years that I worked with that were idiots back then but now much smarter and wiser now that they're patents and married.
  16. Because you'll have the option to buy him at the end - for £20m of course!
  17. What do you expect when he's been practising against a French midget on the training pitch? Now he's with the big boys he will be absolutely fine!
  18. And we throw Hogan back your way and we'll be even happier
  19. If we loan him to Bristol City for a season he'll be worth £50m by the time we take him back!
  20. I think Trezeguet would do well for us. He'll be playing for an Egyptian owner and alongside the captain of his country, so would hopefully be ok settling in. He certainly fits the age bracket!
