  1. And, he'd be worth £20m when he returns to us!
  2. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that he will be playing wide left instead of El Ghazi before too long and he'll own that position. I base this purely on the fact that he can take players on and beat them whereas El Ghazi struggles to do that consistently.
  3. Just watching Black Sabbath's last Brum show on Sky Arts and the band were saying how great it is to play live shows. Geezer Butler goes "there's nothing like it. Well, apart from seeing the Villa win!" I love those guys and wish our entrance music on match days could be a Sabbath song. PS: The Queen needs to get her finger out and give the Sabbath guys knighthoods for services to music. After all, they gave the world heavy metal.
  4. Came through the Crewe system you say....umm..must be pants if Villan4life isn't recommending him.
  5. Blimey mate, you really do love him don't ya!
  6. Yeah, and from Sunday til Wednesday it belongs to Delphinho 123 so he can build us up for ultimate disappointment.
  7. This was my thought on him. He reminded me of The Beast when he first joined. He's obviously going to be rusty. The good thing for him is his movement. He has pace and will obviously work hard so the space will open up for him and the likes of Jack, SJM, Jota and El Ghazi are all intelligent ballers who will get the ball to him. He'll get plenty of chances to score for sure. I just hope he's clinical enough to take them. Maybe he needs to work further up the pitch though. First game so probably tried too hard to impress by tracking back so deep.
  8. Played very well. Hope this continues!
  9. We definitely need another forward who can score goals. Hogan is totally shot has a player for us. If Jonny Kodjia gets injured we have zero cover as Davis won't be good enough either. Ideally, we need an attacking player who can play any of the front three roles. Leao is obvious but will cost a fortune. Jarrod Bowen is another option and for half the price. Can Maupay play anywhere across the front?
  10. The lad has lightning pace and a great cross on him! He looks like a modern right back should look.
  11. Seriously, did you have to do that? Poor lad's probably read this and already got his agent planning for life in League Two or as a taxi driver!
  12. It works here in Brum - cheers! I'll watch the game again later
  13. For all those not liking the new kits, be thankful you don't support Huddersfield Town.
  14. You know, I've been saying that since his name was first mentioned but I heard something yesterday that shocked me. Austin only turned pro at 20 after playing non-league. He's played something like 325 games in 10 years so averaging at 32 games per season. Also, he's scored 150 goals in that time. That's a great return for a striker.
  15. Charlie Austin wants to leave because he wants to play. He's going anywhere to be a back-up. I hear what you're saying though. Wesley certainly didn't look like someone with a natural striker's instinct last night, albeit it was all new territory for him. Personally, I think he looked more tired than expected towards the end of that half he played, so maybe not quite with the required fitness levels yet? He also dropped way too deep and needs to stay further up the pitch.
  16. I agree except, I thought Thor was more involved than Hourihane and he played many forward passes. Just a shame that Green and Davis were struggling to control the ball tonight.
  17. We definitely need at least one more winger that can play both sides.
  18. Thor has played well so far. Lansbury not so good, especially at finding a teammate. Taylor is typical him. Hogan has lost any ability he once had. Good to see Chester playing
  19. I dunno but his parents should have named him Wotsa instead of Juan.
  20. I thought that was a good half for a pre-season friendly although, someone forgot to tell our opponents about thr friendly bit! Jota is playing really well and will create loads playing like that. Remember, he's playing with intelligent footballers now, not the cave-dwellers from Small Heath! Good save from Steer. Bree made a few good runs, Targett as well. Konsa and Hause looked decent enough apart from one error from Hause. Conor is same as usual. O'Hare seems like a stunt double for Jack. El Ghazi has been making good runs in behind their defence but would love to see him take the full back on down the outside. Wesley needs to sharpen his finishing but he looks quick and has a good touch. Jack's his usual self but has added a skill of scoring an invisible goal. Looking forward to the second half and the return of the beast to the Villa shirt
  21. Couldn't find the game on YouTube but watching free Live stream via Minnesota Utd's official website
  22. Reading this leaves me wanting to say only this: Thanks Nas and Wes for saving our beautiful football club - you won't regret it!
  23. That's a great Q&A from Christian. He seems to really get the Villa and what the fans are looking for. I love the way he said that when he leaves the club it will be financially secure for the next 140 years. It's good to know that the money being spent is not beyond our means!
