  1. Exactly what the title says. I've gone for: Freddie Guilbert - I think his contributions going forward will well outweigh what the team concedes. Jack Grealish - He is English and will be getting plenty of plaudits this season as he makes his way into the England side. Wesley - I think that as a third striker he will score plenty of points with goals and assists.
  2. No way! That was our problem for many years - selling our star players because so-called bigger clubs came after them. If we (all at the club) want to make Villa great again we have to keep the likes of John McGinn. F**k Man Utd, they're has-beens now. When John McGinn contemplates offers from other clubs it will be when Man City, Barcelona or Real Madrid start making offers of £100m+ because HE IS THAT GOOD!
  3. Now you've gone and done it! Prepare for 20 pages of fun
  4. I'm loving the attacking football were playing and the way the forward players are inter-changing. I think we'll score quite a few goals this season.
  5. I think Freddie is going to set the Premier League alight and his play is going to be highlighted a lot on various football shows.
  6. 81:50 into the actual game, watch the ball from Lansbury out to Guilbert and the way he takes it down with his left foot - absolutely brilliant.
  7. This is the second time over the last 48 hours where you made me wish that the little grey heart in the corner contained a face-palm emoji. Sorry mate but you are just so out-there sometimes. Having said that, I do often wonder what a SGC team would look like and how it would perform over a season.
  8. He might just be able to coach some kids how to play the defensive midfield role too so we don't have to waste millions in future to buy them.
  9. Another Egyptian you say.........tut, tut, tut!
  10. I hear what you're saying about the quality outside of the top 6 in the Premier League but we don't really know how much quality our new signings possess. Mings obviously looks like he can cut it in the top flight but I never considered that Jota or Hause could be Premier League quality. El Ghazi is untried but is promising. I had seen Targett play once or twice but wasn't wowed by him. The rest, I can honestly say I'd never heard of them prior to us being linked with them. I am more than happy with the way we've gone about our business and looking forward to seeing how the team performs in the Premier League. I'm hopeful of a good campaign and optimistic about us staying up. That'll do me and anything above 17th is a bonus for me.
  11. Survival this season is good. Finishing somewhere around 14th is great. Finishing top half would be excellent.
  12. I would like the club to come out and say that Dean Smith has a job at the start of the season following this one, no matter what league we are in. It would be great for him to work knowing that he's not under that pressure of losing this - his - Villa job. Nobody needs to tell Dean Smith how important it is to keep this club up - he bleeds claret and blue. His own passion for the club and the fans will be all the reminders he needs to keep us up and do well. I cannot wait to see where this club is in 5 years time. It's going to be some journey.
  13. If we sign another keeper plus Nakamba that will make us up to a 31 man squad if O'Hare is included. I think they need to loan out or sell Kalinic, loan out Bree, loan out O'Hare, loan out Hepburn-Murphy, sell Bjarnason & either sell/loan out Hogan or loan out Davis. What a very decent squad with depth of quality we will be left with then.
  14. Wow, that list showed just how much business we have done. Massive thanks to Nas and Wes
  15. Yeah, the £50 we get from the sales of Green and Hogan should really help balance the books
  16. So, is this our biggest ever transfer window in terms of spending? I am guessing it has to be, right? Who else do we want? That's the next question. For me, I would be ecstatic if we got Butland and Nakamba. For me, that would leave us with more than a good enough squad to at least finish around the mid table places.
  17. That's some midfield with or without Nakamba.
  18. Maybe the plan is to buy Luiz for £15m, play him at DM for the next season and then sell him back to Man City at the end of the season for a tidy profit? Basically, we get a quality player through the work permit process and then give him back and we get paid for doing so. Meanwhile, Nakamba comes in on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. He plays the cup games/trains with the team etc and then fills the void left by Luiz next season?
  19. I think it was: Villa have signed Leao Villa have signed Leao Villa have signed Leao Villa have signed Leao Using the belief that if you say something four times it will eventually come true. Based entirely on the fact that today, it worked for Delphinho123.
  20. Maybe Kalinic? We will need to offload him to make way for a new keeper. I still reckon we will go all out on Butland. Stoke are playing tough now but in the end we'll get him in for the price we want to pay plus a little extra.
  21. I think we have a new chant for the forthcoming season guys: Brentford's our feeder club, Brentford's our feeder club, They'll cost 20 mill each But, Brentford's our feeder club
  22. A stopped clock is right more often than Delphinho123!
  23. Personally, I can only see us buying Luiz, Trezeguet and maybe one more player - maybe a goalkeeper - in this window. Buying two DM's and another two forwards seems a bit too much to ask for IMO. I hope I'm wrong though.
  24. Judging by this analysis I would say that Benrahma looks like a potential star!
