  1. Sunderland are an improved side, only 1 defeat in 8 games ina ll comps and that was against us
  2. They think we will finish on 40 points and only 31 will be needed to stay up http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2536382/West-Ham-Sunderland-Fulham-Sportsmails-Premier-League-relegation-predictions.html I we finihsed 12th it would of been a good season
  3. No one should be moaning at Lambert for the poor performances at home. the fact that we have won more games on the road than at home since August shows how poor we have been at home in the least 5 years despite all the money we have spent
  4. only 1 team in the last 7 seasons have been relegated with more points than Villa do now after 20 games, Blackpool (28) in 2011. Also we only won 2 of the last 18 games in 2010/2011 but stayed up by 2 points, we was 7 points above the drop zone after 20 games that year
  5. I bet if we was 6th in the home table and 19th in the away and still 11th. I think alot less fans would be moaning about Lambert and this thread would not exist
  6. The home form is beyond a joke we have almost won more away games than we have home games since MON left, 6th in the away table vs 19th in the home table, We have the best away record against teams in the top half. Just 5 defeats in the last 19 away games, why cannot we do that away, Last 19 away games - 28 points, Last 19 home games - 18 points. It is the same players and manager
  7. again possession means nothing we have played 10 games where we had less than 44% we have won 6, draw 2 and lost 2
  8. At times last season under Lambert we played the best football we have seen in years but 5 players integral to that are now out of form (Lowton, Westwood, Agbonlahor, weimann, Benteke)
  9. only have the stats for the last 6 seasons but this makes things intresting it shows Lambert had last season the best passing Villa team in 5 years, Houllier played the better football but Lambert is trying to do what O'Neill did but on a much tighter budget
  10. Up to 5 games we was doing great, 19 points from 14 games, and 5 unbeaten picking up 9 points and keeping 3 clean sheetsdespite not playing great, yet lose a few and then performances became an issue when we was doing well playing the same way
  11. 2012 Played: 38 Won: 6 Draw: 14 Lost: 18 Scored: 30 Conceded: 68 Points; 32 2013 Played: 37 Won: 11 Draw: 10 Lost: 16 Scored: 50 Conceded: 55 Points; 43
  12. Actually you are wrong we have taken 43 this calender year 2012 - 33 points from 38 games 2013 - 43 points from 38 games Before the game on sky sports news they said we had 38 points from 36 games. on December 31st 2012 we had 18 points we finished on 41 so that is 23 points plus the 20 we are one now
  13. 2012 - 33 points from 38 games 2013 - 43 points from 38 games
  14. yet they all had the play but hit the target 3 times like we did, sometimes they over play it
  15. Like your stats table especially the bit that shows Lambert is better than McLeish but worse than all the others in terms of win percentage. It doesn't do much for his street cred! Lambert is under different instructions than the rest, trying to develop young players
  16. Sacking Lambert is the easy option but alot more is wrong at Villa than just the manager, repalcing him wont sort the problems as quick as fans may want First on the home form, we have struggled at home for ages, Since 2002 we have won just 78 of 205 games at VP (38%) and just 3 of the last seasons have we done better at home than away. Next the players, some are average but they are also young the policy of youth is a sound one but when you cut all the experience as quick as Lambert did you are asking for trouble, it has not helped Lambert that our 3 main strikers our out of form and the best 2 defenders at the club are injured. The board need to be more open on the future of the club, maybe explain why the youth policy has been implemented, The fans have been very good but we cannot keep protesting at every manager if something goes wrong, the problems at Villa are deep rooted and will take years to sort, Lambert had nothing to use form the McLeish and had to pretty much start from scratch, we are points why better than last season and are only 2 points of the top half.
  17. we are the 5th most progressed team compared to after 16 games from last season out of the 17 teams that have played both season
  18. Points difference for this season and last 9 of those teams below us spent more than us in the window, also we only had 20 points after 24 games, so in essence we have 9 games to get the 3 points we need to be in a better situation than we was last season
  19. 9th December 2012 - Aston Villa are 16th with 15 points from 16 games 9th December 2013 - Aston Villa are 11th with 19 points from 15 games That is p[rogession although this time last year is when our bad run started
  20. Benteke has 4 league goals in 13 games this season, he scored 3 in his first 13 games last season. He seems to be a confidence player, when he is hot, he is hot
  21. Ron Vlaar has missed 12 games for Villa our record in those games (Won 2, Drew 3, Lost 7, Conceded 25)
  22. Lambert has been nominated for manager of the month along with Steve Clarke and Alan Pardew
  23. - We are the only team in the league not to concede more than 2 goals in a game. - 5 games unbeaten, without playing well, imagine if we played well. - 2nd best away team in the league Hard to imagine the amount of stick Lambert was getting before tonight
  24. His injury needed 6 weeks recovery so he should of come back vs Cardiff, he was rushed back, he will want to play well if he wants out, plus he has a world class striker going foir his starting world cup place
  25. Last 12 games 2012/2013 Arsenal Man City Reading QPR Liverpool Stoke Fulham Man Utd Sunderland Norwich Chelsea Wigan 17 points First 12 games 2013/2014 Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool Newcastle Norwich Everton Tottenham Hull West Ham Man City Cardiff West Brom 15 points We all raved about how well we finished last season but we are matching that this season with slightly harder fixtures, maybe performances are not there but results are similar
