    Brian you're completely wrong on this one. Teams can still spend large sums of money BUT wages need to be paid from actual revenues. The point of the new rules are to have clubs as sustainable if a rich owner cuts off the money. So if a team gets 100 mil from an owner to spend on players that is allowed, as long as their revenues can pay the wages. I think it's a good idea, it means clubs earnings have to service their debt too. It'll benefit Villa, we are a well run club and because of that we'll stop more City type takeovers jumping ahead of us in the league.

    Hmm, not liking the line up of the defence. Seriously what on earth does O'Neill see in Collins? Dunne Cuellar has to be the first choice partnership. I would've kept Beye at Right Back and not played Collins. Who knows, I wish Young was playing t be honest, easily our most solid defender.

    What? We've replaced Laursen and Knight. We didn't directly relace Barry but we signed 2 midfielders one in Delph who could be great and Downing will allow Young to move into the centre.

    Still it's not as if we missed out on Tuncay, Martin just did not want him, he plans for Ash to move into a free role behind the striker to make him the centre of our team once Downing is fit.

    I'd say between average and very good. So I'd say solid, but underwhelming. No new attacking midfielder is a bit of a dissapointment.

    Petrov and Cuellar played excellent today. Glad for Gabby to get a goal, and very happy with the clean sheet. Clarke had a fine debut, although Fulham were rubbish.

    Gabby and Carew are just better than Heskey so hence they're playing ahead of him. Heskey is still a useful player you know.
