  1. I could win two titles with Lyon. That team was so much better than the rest of the league you hardly needed much managerial talent to win. It's how they went backwards in Europe that was a worry He also quite Lyon because he needed a break. My worry is all the poor signings he made, team deteriorated under his management. That's my worry. He'll go sign garbage.
  2. The League never lies. Being insanely lucky in the Champions League does lie. They never beat Chelsea, they had 6/7 minutes of madness against Milan and were totally outplayed for the rest of the game and they needed a late goal to get out of the group stages. No the complete shambles that was their Premier League campaign shows they were a poor side.
  3. ... and if you were being offered the job with that track record would you see it as a vote of confidence in your appointment if your new boss was only prepared to give you a go for 9 months? I know what I'd do if someone did that to me. No we just say that we give our managers rolling contracts, like MON had. Houllier has been out of the game for a few years and he did a poor job at Lyon and left Liverpool with many poor quality players that resulted in a 5th placed finish the season after he left despite the aquisition of a player as good as Alonso. Houllier can be good and he can be poor. We simply don't know and I'd feel better knowing that he can be let go if we have an average season. Before he does more damage in the transfer market. I just want Jol and think we can get him next summer is all. Why settle for the best of an average bunch when we don't really have to. the fsw brought in Alonso. I know that and it was implied in my post if you read it correctly.
  4. I'm wondering has Jol achieved more or less in the game than Houllier? There are a list of managers who have achieved more in the game than both combined but who we would go mental if we appointed.

  6. If it is GH I hope he only gets a contract until the end of May. Then we can asses how well he has done and if he should stay on or if we should go get Martin Jol or someone else.
  7. I've been away for the past 4 days and come back to hear Houllier and Steve bloody Staunton are going to take over. So we're going to watch as he signs a load of rubbish players.
  8. We are desperate, bloody GH and Kev Mac. We should accept there are no candidates good enough and hire sven or curbs on a contact until may. If we offer a long contact to some average manager I'll lose the plot.
  9. The quality of games coming on the high end phones these days are phenominal. I can't imagine what we'll be playing in 12 months time.
  10. I wonder if the new manager would have wanted Milner or Ireland? The lack of a manager didn't stop us from completing that bit of business did it? Milner had made it perfectly clear he wanted out regardless. Mon originally wanted Ireland and Cittee wanted him out. No Ireland=no deal=one pissed off Jimmy=unhappy dressing room Total bullshit. Jimmy would have got his head down and given 100% for the team without causing trouble. The money offered for him was too good for the board to turn down.
  11. If the board can't get the right man for the job, whoever they appoint better only be given a contract until may. That way we can spend time trying to get Jol or Moyes or Hughes in then.
  12. It can't be kev mac he has no experience. We should accept there are no candidates good enough and appoint sven until may. Then spend the time trying to get jol, moyes or hughes in next may with a nice transfer kitty. Thoughts?
  13. Newcastle and Vienna showed what can happen in games under an inexperienced manager. Experience is vitally important
  14. We can appoint anyone with some experience, but appointing someone who has never managed before is totally the wrong decision and would be a huge mistake by Lerner. It's time for him to show who he is, if he **** this up he'll lose plenty of support.
  15. If we appoint Kev Mac, I'll have lost all faith in Lerner.
  16. Kev Mac is bloody even's to be the next manager!! Surely not, how honestly could we appoint a man with no experience, what happens if we hit a bad run of games he has no experience and we could end up imploding. Players will question his decisions and with no track record to back himself up it could spell disaster. Plus the club statement saying we would only appoint someone with Premier League experience, that would be a blatant lie. So why is he evens??
  17. Sort it out? We don't even have enough senior players do we? Friedel, Guzan Young, Beye, Lichaj,Warnock. Davies, Collins, Dunne, Cuellar. Coker, Sidwell, Petrov. Young, Downing. Heskey, Carew, Agbonlahor. Am I missing anyone but everyone else is under 21 are they not? Ireland, Fonz and possibly Delph.
  18. People realise the players are of course going to back Kev Mac, the ones backing him are the ones in the team. Also what if a player didn't back him and Kev got the job. So don't read too much into what the players say.
  19. And Brian you are reading too much into the generals comments too
  20. I read his comments Richard and think you're wide of the mark.
  21. I'm waiting to see what the touch wiz 2.2 from samsung is like before deciding if I'll go for cm mod or not. It's very buggy at the moment but hopefully they will iron them out. It should only be a few weeks away as I'm not running a branded version.
  22. I use launcher pro and like the rest of the samsung custom stuff like messaging and the dialer and contacts, I didn't like handcents. Are you using a stock android 2.2 rom?
  23. Explain that a little more limpid
  24. He knows the job he's taking and he's being very well paid to do it. So if he got the job and failed he has to accept the criticism. No need to feel sorry for him, if he got the sack he could drive home in a shiny new aston martin.
  25. No doubt we'll support whoever is appointed but we can still have opinions on who it should be until the appointment is made.
