  1. That looks like a sweet phone, can't believe how cheap it is. Have a look here loads of useful apps. They are all on the market so no need to download from the links provided. Also Juice Defender is good at prolonging battery life.
  2. Draw is a fair result. Downing motm, really liking him so far this season. Ireland showed promise, he has some creativity.
  3. Reo Coker, that last man on earth you want in that position
  4. The season is over if Ashely Young has done his knee in
  5. My god you're annoying Hmm because I think Petrov has been poor? Bit rich coming from you eh? No because you moan about Petrov regardless of how he's playing. Show me where I have moaned about him other than after a poor performance , like last game. Don't make up stuff. You're moaning about him non stop in this thread despite all our midfield having a good game so far. Including Petrov.

  7. Great start by us, Carew looks up for it.
  8. I really would have played Cuellar at right back, he was very good there last season. Beye must have shown something in training to warrent this vote of confidence from Houllier.
  9. Malouda vs Beye is going to be embarrassing.
  10. He is our only fit striker. What would you have us do?
  11. All the Galaxy S' sold in Ireland are unbranded. So I'm hoping for froyo next week sometime. I'll be rooting my phone the second I have froyo so glad I can get rid of the lag, it's so random when it happens and is irritating. It's amazing to think Samsung won't fix it themselves and that this froyo build will not fix it. Let me know if the lag is there on JP6, so like don't install OCLF until you encounter the lag. Also will it be quicker to get Gingerbread than it was to get Froyo? We're looking at early next year in reality unless you own a Nexus 1.
  12. Sorry betfair forums and work email block curse words and have been on both all day. So looks like dirk has the official froyo build, really interested in how he's finding it and if the lag is fixed
  13. Well that was a bet you'd swiftly have lost. Official update being rolled out now Some Desire owners still waiting on 2.2. Given Samsung had a shit load of bugs to fix ontop of the update which will be for all handsets all networks. Not bad. Reading techradar's top 20 Phones , Galaxy S is in 3rd but this is what they had to say
  14. Yeah got the email, downloaded it, and played it in the jacks there. Free too which is sweet. Android apps cost less than their apple counterparts. Is that due to google taking a smaller percentage of app sales than apple do? How's the new build working out for you dirk? What quadrant scores you getting?
  15. Very true don't are terrible with their updates. Hell give us the option to load vanilla gingerbread and I'm happy.
  16. I think the success of the galaxy s will / has changed that. Galaxy tab also. Samsung will certainly know where they are weak which is in the software dept, the company is massive and can and will adapt due to the revenue coming in from their android products, galaxy s and galaxy tab will need gingerbread. Also gingerbread is meant to reduce the amount of functionality that individual phone manufacturers add in their custom ui's by incorporating it into the initial build meaning less delays from google releasing the build to when htc or samsung release it with custom ui.
  17. I never said it wasn't a fine phone dirk, we're taking about the two best android phones here. I actually said it deserves to be phone of the year. Just that the galaxy s is an advanced piece of hardware and the software can be fixed. Hardware is permanent. We'll have to see how this froyo update works, rumor is the techs have signed off on the build, so should be soon.
  18. Also is your read techradar's desire vs iphone vs galaxy s review you'll note if you exclude the iphone you'll find the galaxy s wins on screen, calling, camera, maps & apps and battery. The desire wins on interface, messaging, internet and cost. Now they put the caveat that internet will be the same when galaxy s gets froyo. They are wrong on cost as the proveprice plans for galaxy s and desire are identical. While messaging is based off tap typing while lovers of swype wouldn't trade it for any form of tap typing. This review also does not mention hardware specs which the galaxy s utterly trounces the desire at. I just can't wait for froyo to unleash the true power of this phone.
  19. But the functionality is going to be almost identical with just a custom launcher overlay. What sense was doing great was adding a load of stuff that was missing from stock android. But as android advances these benefits are being added into the stock os. So basically there is less to be added in the custom overlay In essence using adw launcher with the sense ui skin will be very similar to using a phone with sense.
  20. here's a review and comparison Even in other reviews, the negative points of the galaxy s are the software. Samsung know this and by all accounts have fixed them with the 2.2 update. So once the software is fixed it becomes a no contest. The simple fact is the hardware is miles better. Sure with 3.0 android we'll all be running the identical software.
  21. Except for the fact it's got an entirely different hardware, the evo has the same chipset as the desire, the desire HD has a new updates one. It's a European evo in size alone. True, it has a new Andreno 205 GPU & has the new Snapdragon. It's a pity it's still got a paltry 1.5gb storage. Though a sd card will sort that out fine as 2.2 allowed apps on sd card. It's basically what HTC said, it's piecing the best of what they've done together. Nothing new or ground breaking in it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the nVidia Tegra 2, that should be something else.
  22. Also I'd agree the Desire deserves to be phone of the year. It was the first phone to surpass the iPhone and really helped start the meteoric rise Android. Does that make it the best Android phone now? No it doesn't. Especially when Android 3.0 will not need any custom UI overlay, meaning all software advantages are gone, hardware is all that matters. When you combine that Galaxy S screen with the astonishing cpu / gpu combo huge onboard memory. It's not even a close fight.
