  1. What the hell does the app store and all that have to do with mobile internet? They are another area entirely. I have listed the things that high end android phones have over the iphone in terms of mobile internet. If you are after the best mobile internet experience the high end android phones are the best. It's not even open for dispute really. Apple iphone's have no advantage over android in this area. While android have many advantages. Even is you don't want to use flash it's not a negative having support for it.
  2. We're taking about high end android phones here all are on 2.2, so flash is supported. Edgadget did a test nexus one running 2.2 vs iphone 4 and came to the conclusion the nexus one was slightly faster. So you can assume the more powerful handsets like DesireHD and Galaxy s will be faster again. There are high end handsets with 3.7, 4.0 and 4.3 inch screens. So take your pick, all bigger screens than iphone. So in the end, it's not even a debate, faster internet, bigger screens, flash support. Google integration. Android is king of mobile internet. That is a fact.
  3. Dirk I don't think it's a SGS2, rumors are it's simply a modified sgs. Meaning easy to port vanilla android to the sgs.
  4. Still means that 2.3 is going to be optimized by google for the hummingbird core. Also it will make loading vanilla releases of android onto the galaxy a doddle. Unlocked bootloader Basically this is fantastic news and has people on xda buzzing. Match best hardware with best software and get best phone
  5. Nexus S was unveiled. Looks like those boys at google have given samsung a huge helping hand and gingerbread has been optimized for the galaxy s core, meaning the galaxy s 2.3 release should be a lot quicker and run much better. Google thank you very much.
  6. You can do that with an Iphone.......if you really wanted too. Yeah but like everything else with the iphone only some things can be ported to a tv. Whatever Steve Jobs allows tipy to basically. While you'll have to be ripped off abs pay £50 for the cable too. My cable cost £3. You have to jail break your phone to have it mirrored on the tv. My phone does full mirroring of my phone screen without me needing to hack anything. Plus it has full support for divx avi, meaning I can download shows quickly and easily drag and drop them to my phone. I love android for the simple fact of freedom, and if there is some functionality I don't have you can bet your arse google are adding it to the next release of android. Apple think, how will this impact revenue, our how can we extract revenue before they do anything. Google give this os away free, so nothing stops them making it the best it can be.
  7. Windows is better than both
  8. I'm only joking dude. :winkold: I bloody praised the iPhone 4 in my post if you actually bother to read it all.
  9. Stevo is iPhone fan boi no1
  10. I'll just give you an example here so. To fit your needs. The internet is superior on Android phones as the browser is faster, it supports flash video and the bigger screens available make the browsing experience better. If you have Gmail as your primary email account then the integration with android is a huge advantage like the calender, also emails and Gmail chat messages will pop up the same way an SMS would. Also the integration of facebook, twitter and social networking is again the best of any smartphone, if someone sends you a message on facebook your phone will alert you in the same way a normal phone would if you got a SMS. Where Android Phones fail is in image, no matter what argument I made to a friend she insisted in buying the old 3GS which is pretty ancient tech to be buying on an 18month contract. Simply because she wanted an iPhone, it didn't matter what one. Image is a factor, plain and simple. It's something no amount of logic can defeat. Apple will always have the brand. Anyway, that's a total tangent. Basically the iPhone 4 is one of the most hitech and top of the line phones you can get in the world. Plain and simple. So enjoy it. Take advantage of the appstore, it's the major selling point of the iPhone. The point I am making is people don't buy the best phone to suite their actual needs. Many people make buying decisions on brand and image same as anything else.
  11. Luckily im not such a nerd Anyway just came across this...... It's not really being a nerd, just making informed buying decisions. Before if you wanted a smartphone it was an iphone or nothing. Now there is plenty of choice out there. Same way it is with mobile phones. If you don't use cameras you're not going to want a phone with an excellent one etc.. No need to stick to one type of phone if another serves your needs better. Basically loyalty is pointless. Figure out what you use your phone most for and then when you get a new one look around. People hopefully do it with all products.
  12. I would never consider buying an iphone as long as it's restricting me from doing what I want with my phone, things like flash and automation of tasks are things I want and need on my phone. I'd certainly consider getting a windows phone 7 though if the platform matures well in the next year. I've always liked microsoft and the range of handsets look excellent. I dunno if nokia can save symbian, I don't think I could ever consider such poor software like that on a smartphone. Interesting times ahead.
  13. I'm almost certain it's free, same as it is in the pc. Making voice cashless with skype isn't free though.
  14. Yep, there is a composite out the yellow, red and white cable that most tv's have. So I turned on tv out on my phone and plugged the cables into the tv in front of the bike. Switched the channel to av2 and the picture from my screen appears on the tv. I just went to the video player, turned on ironman 2 plugged my headphones into the extension on the bike and hey presto. It's really cool I must say. Makes doing half an hour on the bike so much more bearable, time flies when you're watching something interesting on the tv. I also hooked it up to the tv in my room so I can watch stuff in bed as I've no cable up there, just aerial. It's a really cool feature, especially when using it in conjunction with the super nintendo and playstation emulators. You have a portable games console. It's just a really handy feature that like many other things is not known about by many.
  15. Anybody who has a galaxy s you gotta get the tv out cable. It's just the best. I'm hooking it up to my tv at home as well as in the gym. It'll be a real help when traveling too. Costs next to nothing too.
  16. Phone should eat almost nothing on standby mode. I have quick settings which I can toggle everything on/off from one place, ie mobile data and auto sync on and off. I also have a tasker setting which turns all the power draining stuff off and only turns mobile data and auto sync back on every 30mins to check for emails. Saves loads of battery. I have that on most of the time when I'm at home or in work. It auto switches to plugged in mode (another tasker setting) when it's charging, it'll switch all those settings on. Also brightness, get uses to 50% brightness. Saves a lot.
  17. Honestly how would a paper know how much the manager at our club renowned for our secrecy has to spend. I bet the matter hasn't even bee discussed yet. It will in December I'd say. Houllier knows he'll get funds, the amount I'm sure has not been discussed at all
  18. Agree Fotmob is the best score app.
  19. You sure it's better than original Desire? And that's hardly an achievement since that phone has shocking batterylife. Anyway, I'll know more in a few weeks when my mate has used it a bit.
  20. Battery is an issue from what I've read. People p1ssed off that they simply didn't put a bigger battery in. Anyway my mate is getting the phone next week. I can't wait to mess around with it. Really think my next phone will have a 4.3inch screen. Though I could never ever get a non Super AMOLED. Once you've experienced it you can never go back. Anyway onto the SGS froyo update. I have an unlocked phone and Kies says there is no update available. Very odd. I know I'm in Ireland but UK&Ireland is the region.
  21. A Total **** disgrace against Blackpools reserves. Total **** joke. Only plus is we got 3 points. Somehow.
  22. **** Shambles this match. United will destroy us. Please god can we hold on for the win. We need to win this.
