  1. You can't blame Lerner for that, he doesn't pick the team!
  2. John Lerwell I'd agree with, but not Howard. Howard Hodgson has got a big mouth, and likes to use Twitter as his microphone. If I started talking **** about the local football club I play for on Twitter, then I would be told I'm not welcome at the club anymore simple as that! I know it's slightly different, but you get the idea.
  3. Everton - 0 West Ham - 3 Cardiff - 1 Newcastle - 1 That's 5 from me, but I'd be pleased with that considering 3 from 4 are away from home. 32 points with 11 games left, should definitely ease the relegation worries of even the most pessimistic of us!
  4. As far as I'm concerned, the transfer windows gone so we go with what we've got. If N'Zogbia can do a job when he comes back, and Gardner can get a few games in then we've got the numbers in Midfield. We're maybe lacking in a bit of quality but we shall see. My only worry for the rest of the season is that we won't play with the same intensity as last season, due to us not being do desperate for points. I'm not going to lie, Lambert is frustrating at times but I'm behind him 100% - He's doing the best with what he's got IMO!
  5. Books were balanced months ago and Ireland was moved on since then. You know that how? Paul Faulkner told the villa trust around October time.If that is the case, then surely he's got to be selling up? If he's not, then I hope that the purse strings are loosened somewhat this summer - I understand that we would be foolish to start putting £60k pw players back on the payroll after spending so long getting rid of the ones we did, but surely we could start to pay £35k/£40k pw to bring in some decent players from abroad?
  6. I've said it before, but I don't begrudge him not pumping in silly money anymore - I just wish that we could get some sort of indication of where we are wage bill-wise. I don't expect others to feel the same as me, but I could tolerate another 18 months to 2 years of 'cost-cutting' as long as there is some sort of 'finish-line'. It's the not knowing that's killing me.
  7. To be fair his performances at youth level deserved the hype. Injuries haven't helped but delph is proof it doesn't mean the end.Haha, was just using the Delph example as you posted. Beat me to it!
  8. I really feel for the lad with the injuries he's suffered. You only have to look at Fabien Delph to see how a nasty injury or 2 can stall your development when they happen at a young age. I hope he gets another year contract extension, then maybe send him out on loan.
  9. I think part of the reason is a little bit of arrogance shown on our part. All the "Little Norwich" comments are going to rub them up the wrong way, we'd be exactly the same if the shoe was on the other foot.
  10. That's pretty much the same as how I feel. Decent, but still not good enough.
  11. I haven't seen any 'hate', it's just that Okore is simply a better player in many people's opinion.
  12. Have to agree to disagree there buddy, Clark just isn't good enough as a first choice for me.
  13. He's put himself in a difficult situation, if he doesn't go then he's going to be getting the "Bomb Squad" treatment from Norwich. And let's be honest, who would blame them? I think the best scenario now is we bid £2m and everyone saves a bit of face. If we did indeed bid only £750k, I'm not surprised they told us to do one!
  14. I like Sylla, I just think he looks a bit rusty. I'd start him in place of KEA on Saturday, unless he plays Bacuna in Midfield and Lowton at RB if Gabby's fit.
  15. Good enough as 3rd/4th choice at CB, but that's all IMO. You just can't rely on a CB who needs an experienced one next to him to hold his hand. Okore should walk back into the team when fit.
  16. I'm not having this, for God's sake don't start on BJ10 when he's being positive!
  17. I think it's fairly obvious that Big Dave Cameron has tapped him up to buy us. We're definitely a 'Re-generation' project!
  18. I'm sorry, but nothing less than 3 points will do. That is not meant to sound disrespectful to WBA, but we simply have to start playing better stuff at home, and we have to start following up on good performances. I'm going for Villa to win 3-1
  19. Staunton, McGrath, Laursen, Delaney (Of players I've seen in Claret & Blue)
  20. Apparently Fulham and Stoke are 'battling' to sign him. Hopefully Fulham, they'll probably pay his full wage!
  21. I think he's got until May to save his Villa career, he simply has not played well enough this season to justify poor attitude/disciplinary problems.
  22. Looked the part yesterday, hopefully we're in with a shout of getting him permanently if the loan spell is successful.
  23. I thought Holt did ok when he came on, but it's just unfortunate that he had to come on for Gabby as without the injury I'm almost certain he would've played the full 90 minutes. I think Holt is a decent enough option off the bench, but I wouldn't want to see him start.
  24. Fair play, there's a lot of spoilt brats on here today! If Holt can do a job, then it's fine by me! It's a loan deal that will expire when our back-up is fit.
