  1. Look, I totally understand fans wanting Nike/Adidas/Puma making our kit. We had Nike for 5 years, and they basically treated us like s***. We were treated like an after-thought, one year not even being able to buy a shirt until the November, and it was simply not good enough. I've got to be honest, I've really liked the Macron kits on the whole. It's the little touches that personalise them, like this years away shirt - the old badge embossed on the back. I just like the way that Macron treat us like a club of our stature should be! As much as we may want a trendy name, if Macron want to treat us like a priority & just happen to be offering the most money, then it's a no-brainer for me.
  2. So what you're actually saying is that if we had a more 'fashionable' kit supplier, then you would buy the shirt?
  3. He did seem a bit tentative, but maybe that was my view from behind the goal, thinking come on Jack take him on and shoot, that was when he gave the ball to Delph. I agree, I thought he played everything 'safe'. It's going to be interesting to watch the boy develop.
  4. As much as I would like Holtby or Chadli, I just don't want us to have any more transfer dealings with Tottenham Hotspur. They always seem to shaft us. It never ends well as we either pay too much, or the terms favour them. It's Levy, he's good at what he does when it comes to players leaving that club.
  5. If a replacement comes in, then I don't think we would miss him terribly. He's a decent hand who generally uses the ball well and hassles opponents, but with all of our squad fit I doubt he would even get a game off the bench. Good luck to him though if the story is true.
  6. You can see in little glimpses why Cissokho isn't good enough to play regularly for a top side in this league, but I think he will be a very solid player for us. Bargain for the fee paid!
  7. I just think that Keane is going to pass on so much experience to the younger members of the squad in how to grow a decent beard. It's a master stroke by Lambert to be honest!
  8. I agree with other posters who think Delph will benefit the most from Sanchez's arrival. I'm expecting an even better year than last year from Fabian!
  9. Good signing from what I saw of him in the World Cup. We can all argue the toss over the quality, or lack of from the players brought in this summer, but at least Lambert has filled the positions that needed filling: CB - Senderos, LB - Cissokho, DM - Sanchez, AM - Joe Cole. I think all we need is a wide midfielder, and it's been a productive window. At least I'm now mildly looking forward to the season ahead!
  10. I don't know why, but I've got a feeling that we are going to absolutely love him here. Maybe the delay in the move is to allow some sort of beard growth?.....
  11. I'm glad to see that this has mainly been a positive thread. I mainly raised the question as it seemed from most other threads that most fans had given up on him. For the record, I'm behind PL and want him to succeed as I feel for all the mistakes he has made, he has been having to do this job with one hand tied behind his back. UTV!
  12. The title is pretty self-explanatory, this is mainly for the supporters who have lost faith in PL's young and hungry/foreign and cheap/experienced policy at Villa.
  13. The thing that really disappoints me with Andi is that he played really well in earning the new contract he signed last summer, and then proceeded to coast last season like he'd made it. It seems from pictures you see on the net, and twitter/Instagram that he likes a drink, and I would question his motivation as he looks overweight and probably has for the last 6 months. I would seriously question whether he gets into our side when everyone is fit, so he needs to take any opportunity he gets in the team. This is a big year for Andi Weimann, a bad one could see the end of his Villa career IMO.
  14. This Mark. We're shopping in Lidl's/Aldi for players so all things considered I think this is a decent signing.
  15. Sounds like a decent bit of business if the £2m figure is true. I look at it this way, Bertrand would cost us at least triple that and he was pretty underwhelming on the whole during his loan spell. As mentioned before, just because he didn't do well at Liverpool does not mean he couldn't more than do a job for us. Still only 26 as well.
  16. Best of luck to Samir. I hope he has a good career, although I don't feel it will be a top flight one. I do wish people would stop over-hyping our young players, very few young players make it into the first team of their respective clubs.
  17. I'm waiting for the Parma game to give me some optimism for the season ahead......
  18. That GIF is exactly how I will remember King Olof, as I was lucky enough to be at that game. Not the best defender we've had in the last 20 years from a technical point-of-view, but definitely the sort of player you'd want to go into war along-side. Always gave his all whenever he played in claret and blue. We loved him, and it was clear to see that the feeling was mutual. Thank you, all the best for the future! There's only ONE Mellberg!
  19. Bennett is a strange one as you can see that he has some ability, but seemed light-weight and poor positionally. He seems to have done some work in the gym to bulk up which will help him, but it remains to be seen if he has improved from a defensive standpoint. I agree that he is nowhere near as bad as some have made him out to be, but with no permanent deal for Bertrand and Luna on his way out, I guess we will find out.
  20. I'd take Moses, maybe he and N'Zogbia could link up again as they did at Wigan?
  21. His hair is a lot less shit as well. It could be an important year for his hair this year, and hopefully the hours he's put into it will pay off. I actually laughed out loud at work at that one!
  22. No he hasn't. For players like Tonev to be bombed out after a year says a lot about his ability in both the transfer market and on the training ground. One benefit is that at least Lambert's signings can be 'bombed out' - they're not on silly money for their standard so other clubs will take them.
  23. A like doesn't quite cut it for this post!
  24. I could've seen MON doing similar, perhaps a little petty but he needs to show that criticism will not be ignored IMO. It's another stick I suppose.....
