I thought they had more chance today than they do at Arsenal. I think today will have taken a lot out of them!
  2. Isn't it more that they just don't have the players rather than the football they play. Poor defence and no top class striker. I'd rather Newcastle went down. They give us so much abuse for supposedly relegating them... it was an own goal that did it! Newcastle fans would love us to go
  3. Yes is the bitterness there because they are in a relegation battle with us? If we stay up I'd rather Newcastle or Sunderland go down myself. McManaman has been very impressive in recent matches.
  4. I'm pleased for Wigan that they won the cup. Sick of the sight of the big money clubs winning everything. Its something for their fans to cherish.

Yes it was the expected result today. Nothing has changed.

Wigan are going to win at Arsenal then?
  7. Yes I don't think the second was a bookable challenge. Mason was card happy.
  8. To be fair one of those shots was very close.
  9. Yes I think we may have got our midfield sorted now. Its not a weak area for us anymore.
  10. Yes we were all over them until that sending off. Very impressed with Sylla and Delph today
  11. yes been the best midfield player on the park
  12. Yes I agree its a success, because it was a big risk to go with such a young squad and we can only get better next season.
  13. He seems to do well against Cahill so hope Cahill plays tomorrow
  14. Neil Lennon looks like the man
  15. I actually think we will get something out of the game. The games have mounted up for Chelsea. They had a tough game Wednesday and to play us less than 3 days later, there will be a reaction. I know they will rest players but I would fancy our chances against terry if he plays. Hope lowton is fit for us.
  16. I think she's one of those atheist types
  17. Yes I think it would be a fitting gesture. I hope the 19th minute applause continues for some time. I did find the sunderland 30 min one a bit ridiculous.

    Everton

Good shout I've always viewed Everton to be traditionally a similar premier league club to ourselves, but considering how we struggled with managerial appointments post MON, do you think they'll have any problems getting who they want? Yes similar size crowds over the years, although we should really be bigger as we're the only real representatives of the 2nd city. Martinez has been itching for the right job to come his way and I think he'll get the Everton job. Moyes wont be an easy act to follow though. Laudraup has had a good first season at Swansea but the groundwork was done by Martinez and Rodgers.
  19. I will read through all that later but no I do not consider myself homophobic. I think you have to consider that even Catholics move with the times and don't stick with outdated doctrines. Moral standards have dropped though and has that not coincided with families not been brought up with religion as part of their lives?
  20. Not allowing the existence of RC schools (or any religious school) is not discriminatory at all. What right does any church have to be teaching children in the first place? You are a church, a religion, a belief system (and a very selective one at that). School lessons should be academic. And it does not follow logically from that that churches should be banned. That's just silly. By all means a person should be allowed to go to a church if they wish. You can choose to go to church in the same way that you can choose to go to any other building. But a child can not legally choose to go to school. They have to go. So therefore they should not be brainwashed while they are there. This notion that by being a church you somehow have the right to steer a child's mind within a captive school environment is so anachronistic and damaging. I wonder why many non catholic parents send their kids to catholic schools? You talk about religion like its so bad. There so much evil in the world which is not connected to religion. In many ways because was brought up a catholic I learnt good moral values. That in many ways has gone out of the window these days. Yes we have more tolerance but not to all sections of society. There's still tons of discrimination, like against the unemployment, people with mental health problems.
