  1. Palacios cost 6 million, Jerome 4 million, Stoke City are one of the few premiere league clubs debt free. So I think for a club of their size to achieve what they have done, FA Cup finalists, Europa league without going into debt is quite an achievement. Unlike Oneill, Pullis has spent wisely.
  2. Yes wasn't that the time Steve Jobs was not with the company?
  3. He played to his strengths and they were nowhere near as bad as Wimbledon were. and I didn't mind seeing them stick it up the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium.
  4. But it has Ryan Gosling in it Gosling is an awesome actor though. The person who created that video has obviously never seen Half Nelson, The Believer or Lars and the real girl. Yes you mention 3 of the best films he's been in! I also liked Stay. Not sure about the ones he's been in lately though. Wish he'd have been in "The lovely bones" and not Mark Walberg
  5. Yes I agree, Hughes's credibility has gone down a bit. He did a very good job at Blackburn though!
  6. its a little easier said than done!
  7. Who ever gets the job has got a very difficult act to follow. Whatever you think of Pullis's style of play he has done a magnificent job at Stoke. everybody expected them to do a Derby. I expect them to plummet downwards now.
  8. Yes a good idea, makes the Europa league have some value to it. Its would be nice to Villa qualify for the Europa league but it will be good too if a team like Swansea win it and take the place of an Arsenal or a Chelsea.
  9. So we should be feeling a little more positive that he will be with us next season, than we were yesterday then!
  10. Problem is you can't compete with London
  11. Why do you dislike them? If you had ever made the trip to Highfield Road back in the day you would know. Horrible club and fans. Yes I have been to Highfield Road to see Villa quite a few times. It wasn't the most pleasant experience I agree and the walk back to the station was fraught with danger but the same could be said for many away trips in those days. I don't hate the club though!
  12. Don't know whether he will go or not but I find it hard to get carried away about any player that we have unless he's come through our academy like Gabby, because you know he's going to leave at some point. If he does go its very important that we get a really good price for him: 25 mill is crap for a player of his ability. Then we have to be allowed to reinvest that money. If we don't then even I will loose respect for Lerner. If we do loose Benteke, its crucial we don't loose Weimann as well. Its the forwards that kept us up. To loose 2 of them would be a disaster.
  13. Well if you are right he will have to buy two strikers.
  14. Yes I'm just wondering that because Lambert has told Bent he can leave, he must be confident that Benteke will stay with us!
  15. The best of luck with your exams!
  16. Yes I cant believe he would have said something like that! Totally lost in translation.
  17. I'm not sure I agree that these muslim extremists would be killers without a cause . I found the whole thing too difficult to watch. Totally sickening!
  18. Yeah I know but our latest Lambert project might have us going somewhere. Let's just see. If we start to go somewhere, do you think we will retain the manager? Or the players he recruits to help us? No chance Great manager, wanted him at this club , love the players he has signed but I do not think we are going to get longevity out of him or the players. we are not that club. The Atkinson project, the Little project, the Gregory project, The MON project. None of these delivered or meant we retained our talent. Platt financed Atkinson, Sky financed Little, Yorke financed Gregory, Lerner temporarily financed MON. We need constant finance I'm afraid that is the game currently . Money attracts and money retains. We haven't got it yet we were promised a bright future Atkinson was sacked after a bad run, Little walked out because the pressure was too great, and Gregory was too limited. Villa are a big club for Lambert I don't see him walking because there aren't that many jobs out there bigger than Villa. We have to have hope that one day Villa can be a top 4 club without it what is the point of it all?
  19. They're fan base isn't as big as ours or Spurs.
  20. I think the fact we are letting Bent go must mean we are confident that Benteke will be with us next season
  21. He was never going to be a regular in the first team and his wages are too high for someone who will just sit on the bench so its understandable the club want to sell him. Another deal we will loose a load of money on. Fee + Wages £40 million? we might get 5 or 6 mil back on him, Mind you if we are willing to let Bent go we must be confident of keeping Benteke
  22. Always gave his best. Good luck to the lad
  23. Yes I think he wage demands were 60k a week before he left Wigan. Not value for money but that's what we should be expecting to offer Benteke
