  1. That's a very smart things to do, its understandable that people say who are 50 + smoked because there were little health warnings when they were young. But nowadays knowing what they do to you its difficult to understand why young people do it. I gave up when I was 21.
  2. Bent is a natural goalscorer. Maybe he offers more other ways but I doubt whether he will ever replicate Bent as a goalscorer.
  3. like Man City then We got lucky in that one. Benteke must start. We showed no attacking threat without him at hull!
  4. As long as its not 1973 revisited. Mind you the Poland team in 73 was very good. They got to the semis of the world cup in 74! Shows it was a lot tougher to qualify in those days. I think we'll win it quite comfortably
  5. Thanks I think I read it on here come to think of it but I had forgotten. France produce a lot of talented players but not winners. Mind you the level of tennis the top 3 or 4 have produced these last few years is amazing. That first set today was as good as I've seen from Djokovic.
  6. My ex wife's mom died of it last year. Horrible way to die. my sympathies lie with you and with your mom.
  7. Yes Dimitrov has the potential. Warwinka has had a great year whether he will ever win a slam I'm not so sure. He took Djokovic to 5 sets the Australian and US Open though! Tsonga on his day is good but not a winner. Monfils should be up there but for lack of personal fitness
  8. I don't think there was too much in the way of tantrums today. Yes Ferrer cant compete with the big boys and he's 32 now. Berdych on his day but I don't think he can get any better and he's 28. Del potro has had his injury problems since he won the US Open 2009 but he's still only 25 and when he's at his best I think there's only Djokovic can beat him unless they play on slower courts than today. Gasquet is talented but again late 20s. There's no early 20s players who look like they can challenge next year.
  9. Another ATP tournament win for Djokovic beating Del Potro in the Shanghai. He has come back brilliantly since he lost to Nadal in the US Open final. Playing now as well as he did in 2011. Del Potro blew nadal away yesterday. I would say Nadal, Djokovic, Murray and Del Potro will be the ones contesting the slams next year,
  10. Yes but Montenegro didn't have much that could hurt us. Its different when we come up against better opposition Indeed. My point being sitting back even Montenegro hurt us, so you're backing up what I said. Can't afford to sit that deep against anyone. We were fantastic 2nd half v Brazil when we went at them. We just seem to go up, sit back and get punished. We did it a few times in his group stage and it cost us points. Yes very true. I think our defence may be exposed against better sides and the combined age of our central midfield will be 70 by the time the world cup starts. Lampard 36 and Gerrard 34. Surely Hodgson should be looking at alternatives there. Townsend is a big positive. I don't think Wellbeck is good enough!
  11. It does show that Spain have a poor attack. Weaker even than England's.
  12. Yes but Montenegro didn't have much that could hurt us. Its different when we come up against better opposition
  13. motm performance. Its refreshing to see an England player have a go.
  14. Yes him and Walker look our most likely bet to create something. Gerrard and Lampard are dreadful.
  15. Wouldn't be his type of game to be fair, Ukraine win so pressure on England second half.
  16. Yes congratulations and I think you'll do really well!
  17. Well he better kill it for us then, it will only motivate him.. Yes it can only motivate him more.
  18. Both goals were great especially the second. This is away against the 2nd best team in the group. mourinho must be a total idiot.
  19. and another quite brilliant goal from Lukaku.
  20. Me too, it doesn't seem like England do any better since we've introduced them either.
  21. I am sorry but no way England should have won in 1990. They were very lucky to get to the 2nd round is the only team they beat was Egypt. In the second round they just beat Belgium thanks to Platty and if Cameron had been more street smart they would not have given us 2 penalties. Ok the semi final was close, but (West) Germany were the best side in a poor tournament. In 96 England only played well in 1 match v the Netherlands and somehow beat Spain at penalties to again lose to Germany. Probably a better case to say we could have won in '96. However that peformance unfortunately created the deluded bunch of In-Ger-Land, red top reading, great escape fu*kwits who watch England ever since. True they were disappointing in 1990 until they found the correct formula with Gazza and Platt in the middle. However we were the better side against Germany and would have won the final Villa have always come first but the FA have made such a balls-up of England managers since Sven that I have now stopped caring.
  22. He is a very focused determined player and as United supporter I am quite glad that he is putting United first before even considering his international career. Unfortunately though he still needs to sign a new contract. Hopefully it is wrapped up soon. As for his dad where have you heard he is a bellend? Everything I have heard about him is he is the reason he is putting his club career first and making sure he can get a first team spot. He is why Januzaj chose United over Barca in the first place because he thought it was the best place for him to come through. If he is then he not thinking about his son. Play for Albania or be part of something special with Belgium? International football is not just about playing for the better team. Kosovans are very nationalistic so it would not be surprising if he was raised very Kosovan. Many Kosovans were forced to leave because of the war and not because they want to. They are very proud of their heritage and always identify with it. It is not even that long since they started marrying non-Kosovans. Whether Januzaj ends up playing for Albania, Kosovo or Belgium it is unfair to his father to say he isn't thinking about his son. Ok fair point but do you really know that much about his family history other than his dad is Albanian and mom is Kosovan because I don't. I know about the war and ethnic cleansing and it must have been horrible to go through but I don't know when they moved to Belgium.
