  1. Yes but we should have been 3 up before they had their first chance The word 'should' and the word 'did' could be the difference between a relegation scrap and a respectable league finish but for the last few years the former of these 2 words has generally been our theme.
  2. Anybody seen Red Road. Quite a good low budget film but lacked in suspense and realism for me . 6.5
  3. Yes totally agree, I think we supporters have unrealistic expectations and its not our personal wealth we are pissing away. I believe football clubs should manage within their means and the way were under Oneill with a higher wage bill than clubs like Tottenham was unsustainable. I still can't believe the shit I read on here at times. We've had 3 consecutive relegation battles and you're happy with the owner and complaining fans have unrealistic expectations. Did you feel this way when people wanted Doug gone? That's bollocks. He's not the manager. He didn't tell Oneill to to spend money on crap and escalate the wage bill so its out of control. Poor management is the reason we have been fighting relegation. Everton during that period were spending a lot less and they continue to challenge the top 6.
  4. Howard went so early, strictly by the rules the penalty should have been retaken. Its his first real missed penalty. i'd stick with him.
  5. He was far from very poor, such an over exaggeration. Seems like he has taken vlaars place as the player to get the most stick. Can't understand why people expect flair and goals from him, it's just not what he does. Does the unglamorous dirty work in midfield, end of. Either him or Weimann seem to be the ones that a section of Villa Talk have it in for. Guess with no Bannan they have to turn their attention to another midfield player.
  6. I don't think that's the case. Its not as though he isn't putting a shift in. He is working his bollocks off every week. Unfortunately though his end product has been poor. He had a great chance today but just didn't seem to have the confidence to finish. I am not sure if a spell on the bench would do him some good or we stick with him for a while longer and hope he plays himself into some form. He's putting in a shift but lacking the quality that he showed last season, for whatever reason. I like him as a player and hope it's just a case of him being a bit unlucky or just lacking in confidence. He's trying too hard and yes its just lack of confidence
  7. So was the pass to Agbonlahor not counted as a key pass. That's why i ignore stats. Did you watch MOTD? It wasn't a deliberate pass. It deflected 45° off the defender's legs toward Agbonlahor. The intended pass must have been to the far post. There was a slight deflection yes.
  8. Our home form is a worry but if you compare the same fixtures at home last season we are three points better off. I'm just trying to put a positive slant on things.
  9. No i thought he had a decent game against a very good team
  10. Yes I think his confidence is a bit low

  12. Yes it will take a game or two for him to get back to full match fitness
  13. No when you run and chase as much as he does he must be in brilliant shape.
  14. Yes Gabby seems to be getting away quite lightly on here while the focus is on Weimann. Yes his shooting is woefull but at least he's having a go and he laid on a plate for Gabbt as he has done several times this season. If we need to drop a forward its Gabby
  15. When you miss three great chances early on there's likely to only be one result. I thought Howard was taking the piss with the amount he moved before Benteke took his penalty, but Benteke needs to be smarter than that. Mcarthy should have been sent off for that foul on Westwood. A return or one goal for the season between Weimann and Agbonlahor is clearly not good enough but who do we replace them with. Helenius or Kozak. Sorry but that isn't really giving us options. Last season we had Nzog and Bent as competition! Lets hope we get Nzog back soon because although he's frustrating he does make things happen on the ball. I just hope he's not another player Lambert wants rid of.
  16. Once we conceded the first goal its all very predictable.
  17. Its a positive team and hopefully that midfield trio will keep the ball better than what we did when KEA was in the team.

  19. I doubt Lambert would sign a player who wouldn't put in a shift defensively. I'm sure they can all put shifts in but it doesn't make them all as good at it. I doubt very much he will start tomorrow anyway. I'm sure Lambert will want to get that front three going again.
  20. Weimann's going through a bad patch of form to be sure, but it ain't from lack of trying. I don't think we have a single player who works harder than he does. This isn't the problem. I'd say lack of confidence more than anything, he's rushing his shots when he should be taking a little more time and/or looking for the pass. I'd agree. Andi is definitely a player whose form is based off his confidence, once he bangs in 1 or 2, he will kick it up to where most expect him to be. What also has to be considered is that both Andi and Gabby both have been struggling a bit the past couple of weeks form wise and I think alot of that comes down to Benteke being out of the side. Benteke, Gabby, and Andi have excellent chemistry up top and it will take time before Kozak has that same rapport with the other strikers. So I think in the next few matches we will hopefully see a resurgance of our strikers with Benteke fit again. Yes that's very much the case. There was very little chemistry with Kozak. Hopefully Andi will return to form tomorrow with a couple of goals.
  21. If he starts tomorrow where would he play, If its a direct replacement for Weimann then that would leave us more exposed down their left.
  22. I think a game against the better teams like Everton are more risky but I think he can be used as a sub at this stage and if he shows that he's worthy of a start then give him a go but i certainly wouldn't play him instead of Weimann against Everton, especially with the threat of Baines.
