That's not summing up Westwood as much as it's summing up our problems as a team going forward. Our forwards were up front and well marked, not moving, and while there was miles of space over on the right wing, where was Lowton? Hanging back defending against West Ham's zero strikers. Westwood dithered on the ball because there was no available pass, and no one was willing to make the move and offer themselves to receive it. Delph might have dribbled past a few guys and tried a shot, but Westwood's not really a dribbler. In fact I don't even know what he was doing that far upfield! It's the furthest forward I've seen him this season. Westwood did finally play the ball wide - to Weimann, who was about three yards offside. The ball went out for a throw. As far as his performance yesterday, I would say "anonymous" is about the kindest thing I could say about it. Where KEA and Sylla gave the ball away at what I would call an alarming rate, Westwood only gave it away at what I would call a concerning rate. His corners were poor as usual. We had one corner in the entire match.

If he keeps fit and gets on a roll like last season he can still end up the leading goal scorer.

I still think we look a better team with him in it. We lost a lot of our creativity without him. he can play as right wing back like yesterday with a 3 man defence offering protection or have Bacuna as right sided midfield player with a back four.

Why keep knocking him when he's not our player anymore. I don't see the point.

I would just say that as its his first full game for a while we should cut him some slack. Its hard to come into a side and perform at your best. he needs a few games and can we give him that. Either him or KEA when Delph comes back.

Yes I'm sure the vast majority of fans don't hate him. Anyway if he's out injured and our form doesn't pick him its a football fans mentality for him to be all of a sudden our saviour. Bit like with Nzog.

Yes he normally gets off to a flyer against Djokovic. Two good semi's. Ferrer beating Nadal was a real surprise. I expect no such surprise tomorrow though. Its looks like Nadal's season ended after the us open. He looked very tired out there and is in danger of losing teh no.1 spot again now.

Agreed, my mention of poor form was not mean to include Benteke, Delph, Guzan and Vlaar... Yep as long as Benteke gets the service the goals will come. With the penalty miss he's had at least 4 great opportunities to score since his come back. He wont keep missing! If Weimann and Gabby are out for any length of time I think we should stick with Kozak up front alongside him. It didn't quite work when kozak came on but i can see a partnership there in the making. Kozak on his own no way but with the big man up front alongside him maybe.

Well many of you Weimann haters will get your wish now. looks like he'll be out for a few weeks. Hope Kozak will be worthy replacement.

From what i saw i thought he was ok

well hes's never been a great defender we know that but he does offer more going forward than Bacuna. The cross for Benteke was sublime. We dont get that type of service when hes not in the team. With 3 at the back i think its ok to play him at right wing back.

and the ball control and shot with his left foot was absolutely brilliant. I only saw the 2nd half but I thought Benteke was very good. The ball from Lowton was great. I wouldn't be too harsh on this performance it was ok. its the home form we need to sort out

Only saw the second half and wasn't very impressed with him but its his first full game for a while so shouldnt be too harsh

Decent point, might of snatched it in the second half with those two efforts from Benteke.

I don't think Gabby is as big a miss as some think. His form has been poor and he hasn't scored this season. Weimann, Benteke and Tonev have pace. Its a good chance to see how we can preform without Gabby.
