  1. I agree with that and every band and artist in history have been influenced by somebody before them.
  2. They haven't really played as a partnership that much. Probably only together 15 minutes or so yesterday. i can see what he means though.
  3. The question of perfect single is very subjective. They produced many more great singles than Ike and Tina Turner and the Kinks did to be fair.
  4. Yes very true. I know players carry on longer these days, but they are hardly in their prime.
  5. My big concern for England in this world cup is the centre midfield. Age wise! By the time the world cup starts Lampard will be 36 Gerrard 34 and Carrick nearly 33 That's a bit old isn't it?
  6. Cricket isn't boring to everyone. Greatest Sportsman of all time is a difficult one! Although I'm not a fan i would probably have to go with Roger Federer.
  7. I can vaguely remember that scene and Peter Fonda being in the movie. and Loretta Swift from Mash fame.
  8. I don't think anybody can say they are over-rated. I'd think we'd have to be around in the 60's to really appreciate them. They are loved by Americans young and old. I had an American girlfriend for 7 years and everytime she came over the first thing she wanted to do was go to Liverpool and go on the magical mystery tour. When the Beatles were around their wasn't the diversity of music there is today. With technology now you cant compare the music to what we hear today, but they had a unique simplistic style and with the exception of Ringo they were all good musicians. I think they were better collectively than individually. I didn't like Wings or the Mcartney stuff but Lennon wrote some classics like Imagine.. Their music has stood the test of time.
  9. I got really scared as the challenge was to the same knee he hurt before I believe. But I saw him walking to the bench without a limp but who knows! Yes lets hope he's ok. Not the best of nights for him or Belgium but Columbia look good
  10. looks like a bang on the knee going in for a challenge and taken off straight away so who knows!
  11. Yes watched the last 15 minutes of the first half. He missed one sitter with his head from a Fellani cross and there was another cross from De Bruyne which he backwards from a tight angle. Maybe he's lacking a little confidence. Just needs that one goal to get him going again.
  12. 'Shaw and Withe went together like bacon and eggs. And they sizzled' Yes a lot of Villa fans thought we'd paid over the odds at the time for Withe. Saunders made some very shrewd buys. Kenny Swain was a bargain, Tony Morley and what a buy Dennis Mortimer was from Coventry for 125k i think.
  13. Yes people forget they have those two to come back from injury. Why are we trying to sell Benteke to Arsenal? They'd have to come up with a crazy offer else we'd have no reason to accept. Benteke's hardly going to be begging to leave in January. I think Arsenal will come back in for Suarez but not in January.
  14. They should make us an offer for Westwood.
  15. Yes but they didn't bottle it at Dortmund. To be fair a win against Liverpool and Dortmund and defeat at United isn't bad. Its not like they were blown away by United like United were at City.. I'm classing big games as QF SF F, and title games , bunch of mincers in effect with no balls. 1. The Dortmund game was bigger than the United one. Loose that and they are struggling to stay in the competition. 2. The United one wasn't a title game.
  16. Can't see us selling him in January
  17. I haven't been following the South American groups but I am surprised Uruguay didn't qualify automatically with the players they have.

    Brad Guzan

Yes I can't see us doing any business in January
  19. I personally don't think he will make it at this level but he will have a decent career in div1 or the championship.
  20. Yes but they didn't bottle it at Dortmund. To be fair a win against Liverpool and Dortmund and defeat at United isn't bad. Its not like they were blown away by United like United were at City..
  21. Sad day, that. Man he looked promising yes very sad what a brilliant debut goal he scored.
  22. I guess the emotions of winning at Dortmund may have played a part in how they started that game. Also they really missed Mertesacker as he's been brilliant this season. Playing Ramsey on the right didn't work. Ozil was really poor. Still think United are a couple of injuries away from missing out on a top 4 spot. Yes they have replacements up front but nobody can really replace VP if he gets injured. Rooney will burn out by the end of the season and be shit for England again.
  23. He was big mates with Ron Atkinson, and wanted to be near Brum so he could work on Gladiators (filmed at the NIA). He really was just about the worst signing ever (cracking goal against Forest apart!) I wouldn't rate him as our worst ever signing but he was never a Villa type player. Merson was bought with the Yorke money wasn't he. Good player for Villa but no sell on fee. Having looked at all the ones in this thread. Best Business! 1. Yorke 2. Platt 3. Andy Gray. 110k from Dundee United, brilliant player for us then sold on for a massive fee to Wolves 4. Paul Mcgrath - got him cheap and regarded by many as Villas best ever player.
  24. If they really had him play through an Achilles injury that's beyond stupid, and I blame the training staff. There's no way Achilles issues won't get worse. Shows how important the Arsenal game meant to them. If they had of lost that the title was gone.
