LOL Marciano was a vert small heavyweight a prime Ali would have killed him off of his jab alone, Marciano wouldn't get near him for the entire fight. In terms of slams Federer has won more and Sampras never won the French. If both players were at their peak at the same time dunno. Nadal has had the better of Federer and Sampras wouldn't have stood a chance against him on clay. Lists vary. I just googled it and two of them had him at no.1. I think Rocky is a very under-rated fighter. The fact he never lost a fight and is the only heavyweight to do that puts him right up there. There was a computererised fight between him and Ali and he came out the winner.

Scotland don't produce the players like they used to. After England won the world cup in 66, Scotland came to Wembley and played us off the park with Baxter running the show. In 78 they went to the world cup finals with high expectations, The even left out Andy Gray who was a top top striker in the English first division at that time. They are always going to struggle to qualify for major competitions. Wales have always had one or two top players and the rest have been poor. They have Ramsey and Bale now so maybe if they can find a few more decent players they may have a chance.

That would be the Celtic goalie, who incidentally is about SPL standard. Townsend is an enormous hype-job as well. He's no Gareth Bale tha'ts for sure but I think its harsh to say he's an enormous hype job. He played really well in England's last two qualifiers so has justified the hype, but for him to continue doing that is impossible.

In fairness every single manager has failed since Alf Ramsey in 66. We don't have a large pool of players to pick from.
