  1. Working for a stockbroking company when i was 17. They treated me like dirt.
  2. The only way to get back at Warner is for Trott to score a hundred in Adelaide. Its the ashes its always been like this.
  3. I disagree. No one is irreplaceable. You get someone knew and adapt. Its getting the right players though. We might find the same problem well selling Benteke.
  4. Yes there away form has been shocking. Losing to us, Cardiff and Sunderland shouldn't happen. Arsenal will win almost every game against teams outside the top 7 and as long as they pick up there fair share of points against the rest they will win the title i think.
  5. Just think what Lambert could do with 100 million. Bale won them so many games last season. Sometimes players are irreplaceable.
  6. Very cruel. That penalty miss was the difference
  7. I thought Root did ok. He managed to adjust his game and got forward more.
  8. City are formidable at home. Any side that looses 3-0 at home to West Ham has got problems. Spurs have spent 100 mil to replace Bale and they are worse.
  9. Don't normally watch Rugby but that was a great first half from Ireland
  10. They outplayed us in all departments. Even Lyon outbowled Swann. Bell got a good ball so he was blameless but that's not the case with all of them. KP dumb shot, Prior got out the same way to Lyon both ininngs. Root showed some character. Anyone that blames Cook is way off because the captain can only bat for himself. He didn't play that hook shot for KP. Johnson brilliant. But he was backed up ably by Siddle, Harris and Lyon who extracted a lot more out of the wicket than our bowlers ddi
  11. The goalscoring midfield player we let go!
  12. No they have to stick with Trott. Balance for Root maybe if he fails again. Amiss didn't have a helmet when facing Lillee and Thompson. So there was genuine fear of being seriously hurt out there. and Thompson was arguably quicker than anybody playing today.Strange he had a great record against the windies but a poor one against Australia.
  13. I'm not sure Trott will get going in this series. A flaw has been exposed in his technique and Johnson has his number. It wasn't just the shot he got out with, it was his entre innings which was very unlike the old Trott. Mind you I've seen that before in 2007 at Warwickshire where he barely scored a run.
  14. yes just saw it and am slightly bemused by his team really. Gabby on the left side of midfield? Of all time ? Or is it just the past season !!! of all time. Spink, Mellburg, Mcgrath, Laursen. Wright, Daley, Barry, Cowans, Gabby, Shaw, Benteke.

  16. There's loads you're missing out on but I would at least give Raging Bull or The Hustler a watch. They would appeal to anyone with a passing interest in sport. I kind of like the British kitchen sink films from the 60s which i think are all black and white Room at the top This sporting life is really good film starring Richard Harris about a Rugby player Loneliness of a long distance runner
  17. I saw it a few years ago. Its a good film if you want to watch that type of thing. I can remember Bobby Sands and the hunger strike so i found it kind of bleak. But it is a bleak story.
  18. Pretty much the same retort applies. Good ideas and storylines are not restricted to your own language, so by ruling out every non-English film you're ruling out some great stories and therefore some great films. I have watched some great foreign films lately and subtitles don't bother me. To name a few! Read my lips Rosetta Rust and Bone The Kid with a Bike Baran Sin Nombre Amores Perros Incendies Maria full of grace In many ways the story lines are better and hollywood often often do remakes of European films like brothers and the next three days
  19. KP pisses me off immensely. He clearly has all the talent in the world and he should be able to play out a long innings. But with KP, his constant half arse shots and generally slogging mean those innings are too far apart. For every 158 vs Aus in 05 there will be a spell where he will get out for 10-20 for 3 test matches in a run. On Cook and Bell, Cook is in need of one big innings (like he was when we last when down under) and then he will probably go on a amazing run of form but the Aussies seem to have his number, especially Harris. With Bell, he quite clearly is the most inform batsmen in the England team and I think his first innings was a blip. IMO, England need to change it up a bit in regards to the line up. Too many players seem to be too comfortable with their spots in the team and don't feel under any pressure and therefore when they do have a bit of a dip in form they don't feel they have to improve as quickly. (Kp, Trott, Prior and Swann come to mind). I agree with that but you cant really change much this series. We have Bairstow or Balance as backup and both are late middle order batsman. All the English media talk up KP but he only produces it spasmodically. They've done a good job on Cook but you would expect him to come good eventually even if it means he will score very slowly. Carberry did well
  20. yes one could actually say autism is a physical problem as well because its a brain defect! Certain areas of the brain don't work as they should. In fact a lot of mental illness is physical. because its the brain we don't see it like we do with a broken arm or something else.
  21. Yes Agbonlahor and Delph hopeful but doubtful according to Matt Kendrick. Benteke, Luna, Weimann , Guzan and Clark fit and available which is good news!
  22. Trott was in much better form then and they also have Mitchell Johnson fired up so I don't think that's going to happen again. Cook and Bell maybe? KP
