  1. Its a wonderful life White Christmas Miracle on 34th street A Christmas Carol Patrick Stewart
  2. Since he played well last year against them. Don't understand that reasoning myself, but that's it. very tenuous line of reasoning i think.
  3. I don't think any of them served anymore than 10 years in the end even the the ringleader so having lived the life of riley with stolen they all got of very light really
  4. Why is Bowery coming into the reckoning all of a sudden. He hasn't started a league game this season even when we had Benteke, Weimann and Gabby out.
  5. Yes he was barely featured in the BBC Drama over the last two nights.
  6. No i think its safe to say he wont be playing in this one
  7. Thats the George Orwell book i presume. My all time favourite author
  8. Herd had a decent game against Fulham so i think he might play at cb. I think also Albrighton will be more useful on the wing providing the crosses for Benteke.
  9. No they are still young and hungry even if some of them haven't played at the level they did last season.
  10. For the record, Brady isn't in jail, he's served his sentence in a secure hospital (Ashworth in Maghull) and he's far from rotted Actually he spent the first 19 years in prisons before being moved to Ashworth.
  11. Mike Brearley was a brilliant captain i agree. Was it down to him though the winning of that ashes series. Shackles off Botham hit one of the best test innings of all time and then Willis bowled like a demon 2nd innings and the whole series turned from that point. No doubt Brearley had an influence but how great i don't know! That said i don't rate Cook as a captain.
  12. Harsh I think Stoke lay claim to that acolade Guess in terms of players who have come through our academy that have made our first team, its a bit of a golden generation but we haven't produced the same quality Southampton have.
  13. True but in reality promoted teams usually spend less, so a £30m budget would seem even bigger to a team who have come from the Championship. In fact, I'm struggling to think of a promted club who have spent that much in the summer window... With the new tv money you'll see more and more, and Southampton probably spent that much in the summer. However, it sounds as though the Cardiff expenditure could reach £50m because of add ons, obviously a lot of money. Edit: by the summer for Southampton I mean the summer after they came up. Bit of a risk though because if they went down they would really be in the shit financially
  14. Ok BOF I do hope you are right. I wasn't just thinking about sick child abusers but what humans are capable of given the right situation and circumstances. Like in wartime. But I was wrong to say lot of people like Watkins... I should of said there's a lot of people capable of doing bad stuff! out there...
  15. Yes i know how you feel. There's lot of very sick people out there just like Watkins who are amongst us. Its scary! No there aren't. There are very, very, very few. Actually neither of us really know that!
  16. By being ruthless but you cant run football clubs the same as you do businesses. It may well backfire on him! Mackay has spent a lot of money though and shouldn't have opened hos moutn about January signings.
  17. He was the best of that golden generation of our academy which produced Bannan, Clark, Albrighton, Baker and Weimann. I like it "Golden generation"
  18. Yes i know how you feel. There's lot of very sick people out there just like Watkins who are amongst us. Its scary!
  19. I doubt whether the women know who the fathers are. Of course i could be wrong but going by their low morals i wonder if the fathers are responsible enough adults to care anyway.
  20. There is no deterrent! I agree its an illness just like being a sociapath is but that doesn't mean they shouldn't pay for their crimes, i just don;t go along with the seize mentality.
  21. Yes I'm not disagreeing with that but I'll never be in support of a return to capital punishment. Anyway i think Watkins will suffer more with 35 years solitary confinement than a quick death. His life is over. He's just going to rot in jail like Brady has. He's paying for his crimes!
  22. Same. I don't think I've ever read anything as disturbing , possibly the Jamie bugler case RIP. The death sentence is needed in instances such as this. How on earth do people get so depraved? I would assume he's an abused child himself with massive psychological issues. Just about got to page 5 myself and I have to say, although there is clearly something wrong with both him and the women, it is something beyond what is curable or fixable in my opinion. I actually agree with you EA, the death sentence is a touchy subject but people like that deserve no place on this Earth. Actually feel sick, what a sad and disgusting bunch of human beings. I hope those poor children never have to know about what happened. I am against the death penalty myself for a number of reasons. 1) In a civilised country we don't have the right to take person's life (In anycase a sex crime without murder would never be a capital offence, so it would serve any purpose in this case. 2) It didn't work before when we had it here and too many people were executed and then found to be innocent. Too well documented ones were Timothy Evans and Derek Bentley. 3) Would Ian Brady and Myra Hindley have suffered less if the death penalty hadn;t have been abolished not long before they were tried. 4)Then theres the executioner. Albert Pierrepoint hung 400 people including those two innocent ones and Ruth Ellis and he and his family suffered greatly because of it. 5) Method of execution. I know many people want these people to die a horrible death, but i don't think that should be the case and that any of the methods that have been used are very humane. Lethal injection certainly isn't. The person can die in agony but be paralysed so he cant scream out or move. Gas Chamber no! Electric Chair is horiible. Point 1 I understand although my personal opinion is that a sex crime such as this, or any sex crime involving a child for that matter, is a completely different case to others. You could argue that similar to your 3rd point, would these children have suffered less if they were simply 'murdered' rather than sexually abused? As for your 2nd point, they are clearly guilty in this case. As for points 4 and 5, I'd gladly put a bullet through each of their heads myself. It isn't a case of them suffering it is a matter of ridding the planet of such vile human beings. You don't even have the death penalty in any of the states in America for sex crimes involving children and even if brought back here you wont.
