54,000 against Santos with the gates locked and many thousands left outside to see the great Pele. There were crowd restrictions because of power cuts and Villa had hired a generator.
I jumped the mighty queue to get into the Witton End that night & got a first hand view of Ray Graydon's Penalty to put us 2 - 0 ahead & watched in awe as a Santos player whose name escapes me scored a fabulous banana free kick. .
The highlight for me though was watching my favourite Villa player of all time Pat McMahon, head us in front in the first half.
Great memories.
I got in the Witton end myself but i was too small to see anything apart from bits of Lionel Martin on the ball.

yes but before they introduced that rule there were so many offside goals. It was introduced to favour the attacking players and as such its a good things. There are grey areas but that's what the ref is there for!
Theres so many! 6-2 against Everton 89. The 4-4 at Chelsea. Winning the league at Highbury in 81. Not the best game as we lost 2-0 but great moment. Some good archive photos on the evening mail website.
Loved all three and thought the third was a brilliant way to round it all off. The complexities of the relationship shown through fantastically nuanced performances.
An exceptional trilogy.
Guess you have to be in the right mood to watch it. Maybe I'll watch it again sometime and see if i think differently
Hard to say what the worst film is because if its bad i wont watch it. Before Midnight i turned off after half an hour because Ethan Hawke was irritating me so for now thats my worst film, but the first two were good.
probably because ashley young had talent, something that 95% of the current squad dont have....
His ego whilst continuing to contribute nothing for Man Utd is also something that 95% of our current squad don't have.
Was a brilliant player during his time at us, believed his own hype far too much, went off the boil and now dives for a living. No thanks!
A bad euros and injuries are the reasons his form went
