  1. Spurs lined up with only two in midfield against Arsenal and got taken apart. I think we have to play the extra midfield player.
  2. Babel is a very good film and great music by my favourite Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakomoto
  3. Yes but they create a lot of chances and Suarez's reading of the ball for the 2nd goal was brilliant. Never a penalty though!
  4. Inter Milan 3 Villa 0 was probably amongst the most dissapointing as we won the home leg 2-0 and to surrender that so meakly was bad.
  5. yes it has been mentioned a few times.
  6. 54,000 against Santos with the gates locked and many thousands left outside to see the great Pele. There were crowd restrictions because of power cuts and Villa had hired a generator. I jumped the mighty queue to get into the Witton End that night & got a first hand view of Ray Graydon's Penalty to put us 2 - 0 ahead & watched in awe as a Santos player whose name escapes me scored a fabulous banana free kick. . The highlight for me though was watching my favourite Villa player of all time Pat McMahon, head us in front in the first half. Great memories. I got in the Witton end myself but i was too small to see anything apart from bits of Lionel Martin on the ball.
  7. We also did that in 1976 didn't we. I don't know who the goalscorers were that night. Probably Gray, Deehan and Little
  8. 54,000 against Santos with the gates locked and many thousands left outside to see the great Pele. There were crowd restrictions because of power cuts and Villa had hired a generator.
  9. The 2-1 semi win was extra special because we were a third division side up against Best, Law and Charlton in front of 60,000 fans.
  10. yes but before they introduced that rule there were so many offside goals. It was introduced to favour the attacking players and as such its a good things. There are grey areas but that's what the ref is there for!
  11. Theres so many! 6-2 against Everton 89. The 4-4 at Chelsea. Winning the league at Highbury in 81. Not the best game as we lost 2-0 but great moment. Some good archive photos on the evening mail website.
  12. Hart had a great view of the strike and his ability to dive wasn't impeded.
  13. Not interfering with play in my view. The ref got it badly wrong!
  14. Yes the Ken Russell adaption of the DH Lawrence book. Good film!
  15. Yes but player for player Arsenal are far superior. We'll have to be very lucky to beat them!
  16. He's the best of the Belgiums isn't he!
  17. lightening doesn't always strike twice. Swansea are a bit powder puff!
  18. Yes but United have created the best chances. Wellbeck missed a sitter.
  19. Yes have been very poor first half, although for all Swansea's possession i cant remember them creating one chance.
  20. Yes i agree he had a calf injury i think.

    Joe Bennett

Glad he's back in training. As poor as many people thought Bennett was last season he was still far better than Luna has been this season.
  22. Loved all three and thought the third was a brilliant way to round it all off. The complexities of the relationship shown through fantastically nuanced performances. An exceptional trilogy. Guess you have to be in the right mood to watch it. Maybe I'll watch it again sometime and see if i think differently
  23. Hard to say what the worst film is because if its bad i wont watch it. Before Midnight i turned off after half an hour because Ethan Hawke was irritating me so for now thats my worst film, but the first two were good.
  24. probably because ashley young had talent, something that 95% of the current squad dont have.... His ego whilst continuing to contribute nothing for Man Utd is also something that 95% of our current squad don't have. Was a brilliant player during his time at us, believed his own hype far too much, went off the boil and now dives for a living. No thanks! A bad euros and injuries are the reasons his form went
