I think he's a fantastic signing by Lambert. It proves if lambert is given decent money to spend he will spend it wisely.

Personally it was rash. If he'd of stayed up then Suarez was going nowhere. Don't think it was a penalty but he gave the ref a decision to make.

I included Rioch. Blanchflower is an interesting selection. Guess his best days were at spurs and their famous push and run side of the 60s under Nicholson. Great names from the past!

Yep the first 100k teenager when signed for Wolves from Liverpool. Or was it the other way around. Never really reached his potential.

might have Gary Williams or Colin Gibson at left back but apart from that I agree.

Or Chris Nichol maybe? Anyone at Old Trafford that night in '77 and remembers that awesome strike might have something to say on the matter. And who else can score all four goals in a 2-2 draw, I ask yer? God was, without doubt, though the best player ever to pull on the claret 'n' blue. Saunders soon replaced Nichol for Mcnaght though!

I think he's been excellent when he's played alongside Vlaar. Yesterday was probably the most ineffective Suarez has been all season so credit must go to our defence.

I think nobody should underestimate Ken Mcnaught. My granddad often talked about Con Martin, a very versatile villa player. But guess can't look beyond Paul Mcgrath.

what was he 21/22 that season. I can't remember too well but one 50 yard pass on the volley inch perfect that season and I thought wow!

Hard to pick one player out because they all played their part in a terrific performance. Late goal in first half and a very dubious penalty cost us a deserved 3 points.
