Yes but in fairness Barry has had his chances and was a bit of a disaster in the last world cup. I can understand why Hodgson is not picking him. I think its a bit late for Delph to get called up now but I think he's a definate futiure England player. We just need to get him signed up on a new contract.

I think each of the 4 shots were in quick succession so the question of which shot missed and whether that could be the warning shot is irrelevant and that count as well.

I disagree. I don't think it makes much of a difference. Delph has been playing exceptionally well this season and that's the main reason why people are saying he should play for England. England aren't exactly blessed with talent at the moment. He wouldn't be a starter for England but I fail to see how he doesn't deserve a place based on this season's form? I think international refs wouldn't like his tackling and he would pick up more cards. I think he can run down blind alleys with ball and away from support. In the final third his decision making isn't always the best and can fail to make a pass. Don't get me wrong he has vastly improved and right up there for our player of the season. But as yet I personally don't think he would cut it internationally. If he continues to improve then yes he could become an international But which English midfielders besides Carrick, Gerrard, Wilshere and Henderson deserve to be called up ahead of him? Yes arguably only Gerrard and Henderson are more deserving.

You can understand why Chelsea sold him, he didn't look interested. A peripheral figure in the game.

I was dissapointed when he had the shot in the first half instead of passing it to Bacuna. He's a good hard working functional player but its the one position in midfield we can improve on if we are to progress. Still have him in the squad though!

Had a good game yesterday. Worked tirelessly for the team and showed the odd moment of quality.

He's got all the assets to become a great RB. I don't think he would ever become a great midfield player. So hope he stays where he is and keeps improving.

I'd rather have Torres, if he were reliably fit. Lukaku is great at marking defenders. would rather have Benteke than either of them.
