  1. Well there's been Carberry recently in the test side. Then there's Phil DeFreitas, Devon Malcolm, Gladstone Small etc. Sid Lawrence, the late Wilf Slack, Norman Cowans, the imprisoned Chris Lewis, Ricky Elcock and so on but the numbers over the years probably aren't huge. I can't say too much about what the case is in today's county game, tbh, as I hardly follow it. Theres not that many playing county cricket. Keith Barker at Warwickshire but cricket is his second choice because he was on Blackburn's books i think. Guess its not a sport too many young black people are that interested in taking up. A bigger question is the lack of asian cricketers playing for England or even playing county cricket when it is a sport they participate in at young age. Still not totally sure why Moeen Ali left Warwickshire seven years ago to play for Worcestershire. He said it was the time he becoming a fully fledged muslim and he wanted to start afresh where nobody knew him without a long beard. Certainly if he had have been at Warwickshire he would not have had to wait until he was 26 to play for England.
  2. That's not how it works. The rule doesn't say "intent to deny a goal scoring opportunity." No. It says denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within his own penalty area) Oxlade Chamberlain did what he did because he thought the ball was going in. So in his mind he was denying the opposing team a goal It was deliberate, but it wasn't denying them a goal because the ball was going wide. It doesn't matter that he didn't know that or what he thought. It's not a red. I can understand why the ref gave a red, because it's tough to tell in real time. Makes no sense. The ref cannot judge the path of the ball, what if a shot has a curl before it is hand-balled? So at the time of the incident the ball is going three yards out, but if that ball was allowed to continue it would have curled in the corner. Then what? It didnt though did it

Yes thats right, it doesn't matter what was in Oxlade Chamberlain's mind, the fact that it wasn't denying a goal or an obvious goalscoring chance is what matters. The ref got it wrong and even if he had of sent the right man off the FA would have still done rescinded the red card
  4. The first match was a great game though. Dale Steyn was terrific.
  5. How the absolute f.uck has Oxlade-Chamberlain not been punished?? Complete madness. Deliberate hand ball. Oxlade wasn't trying to prevent a goal kick, he was trying to prevent a goal. Because the ball was going wide so it shouldn't have been a red in the first place. Sorry but for once i think the FA have got it right.
  6. He's young and new to the position so he's going to have bad games i guess.
  7. Today will be a kick up the backside. I expect a good performance at old Trafford
  8. Well he created our goal and he cant be blamed for our shocking defending. Head and shoulders above anybody else in our team today.
  9. Yep thats it in a nutshell. No motivation today
  10. Yes maybe Benteke too but apart from that they were all well below par
  11. He looked like he'd given up before the end. yep thats the most dissapointing about his performance today. We know he was crap defensively but he was also crap going forward.
  12. Yes the whole defence was poor today though, especially Bacuna
  13. Worst performance of the season. enough said!
  14. Credit where credit is due, it was a good goal. I think Beckham's was better though.
  15. Sunderland would have to get 12 pts from their 10 games to achieve 37 and they haven't averaged a point a game this season. I think it could be lower than 37 for safety.
  16. me too, They also have Man U and Everton
  17. Yes that over from Broad cost us the game.
  18. There's still twists and turns yet. Big win for Norwich but they are far from safe.
  19. We shall see. Nice knock from Moeen. Class player.
  20. Yes. I said previously we have signed another James Milner for under a million quid, it is fantastic business. sorry i don't get the comparision?
  21. Downing had a good season under Houllier. Was probably our best player that season. However they are different people and I think Delph is very happy with us. Anyway Downing's career went downhill after he left us. The grass is not always greener elsewhere.
