  1. Yeh we're fortunate the bottom 3 are so poor really.
  2. Shame for Rodriguez. He's had a good season and would be a better option than Lambert. I'd take Carroll because it gives us the option of just hoofing it up the park and he can make things happen.
  3. Yep Matt has got a bit fed up. Says a club like Villa should be able to beat Fulham even with a few injuries. If Villa stay up given that we have now reduced our wage bill and with all that sky money coming, Lambert should be give substancial funds to invest in players and if not much improvement is made next season then sack him.
  4. Threads was great. One of the most realistic post nuclear films ever.
  5. I think the players wages on incremental contracts are paid for by their counties but the counties receive compensation when they are away on England duty. I know there are some financial compensation for playing young english players under a certain age as well. I know that because Naquash Tahir has found it difficult to get a contract with a county since he got to a certain age.
  6. 13 league goals this season isn't bad. I think he's a good player but had to carry the Arsenal attack all season.

    Everton

I remember having a discussion on here at the end of last season about the merits of Martinez and many argued because he had done nothing but keep Wigan up season after season that he wasn't worthy of the job but to achieve that at a club like Wigan and to win the FA Cup was remarkable. He had already started building the model at Swansea. I think he's destined for the very top and even Everton won't be big enougn for him. In fact he would have been perfect for United.

    Gordon Smith

Yes a good player. Can't remember why he left but guess we were well covered in that position with Colin Gibson and Gary Williams coming through the academy. RIP
  9. Ok its not a fact but its my belief and nobody can say with any certainty that if we sack Lambert and bring in another manager we would do any better. I actually believe with the funds provided many other managers would have got this club relegated.
  10. True if the players want to keep him after he has slagged them off publicly.
  11. Our problem is we loose a few players through injury and we just don't have the quality in our squad to cope with it. I'd stick with Lambert for one next season. Lerner must give him suffficient funds so he can purchase the players he wants instead of buying bargain basement and hoping they will make it. Fact is nobody would do better with what Lambert has been given.
  12. I have a sneaky feeling that Sunderland may get something at Spurs. In all reality what have spurs left to play for.
  13. Its hard to act that emotional so I think that bit is genuine. But I couldn't listen anymore after he said he was only trying to protect her. Makes me cringe.
  14. They could but I wouldn't bet on it
  15. I think they were always a bit short of being title contenders but the injuries to Walcott and Ramsey in particular have really cost them. Ramsey was arguably the player of Premier League before his injury. Everton have not had European football to contend with and have been luckier with injuries.
  16. He might think he's fit but as its a notoriously difficult injury to recover from he may well be nowhere near ready for first team action.
  17. I'm indifferent to him really. He's a quality player. Lacks discipline but that's been the case of many Brazillian footballers in the past

The same ref who gave West Ham a goal? Exactly, the referee was poor but if he didn't make those two key poor decisions, it would have been a 1-0 win to plop anyway. Surely we should all be glad that Liverpool won anyway, it keeps West Ham just a few points ahead of us I agree and if Liverpool were poor today its still better than our best. If Suarez and Sturridge had have been on form they would have won that game by 3 or 4 goals. I don't know about that. First half at Anfield was us at our best and Liverpool playing poorly. We were comfortably the better side that half. We have it in us. True we did play well that first half
  19. I can't believe this because he was a regular member of the first team last season.

  21. Very strange, if he was going to be sacked why leave it until 5 games to go.

Next week's game is the biggest game of the season.
  23. Yes really pleased for those two. They haven't retired from test cricket yet though so we should see them one last time in England. Yuvraj though sucked the life out of any momentum Kohli had given India in their innings. It was a match losing innings.
  24. I don't think Bannan has been on the bench has he. I fear the worst. There's always a mistake or two with our defence and without Benteke we don't carry the same threat.
  25. maybe but he couldn't even manage that against us.
