  1. A quite amazing season that. The year before we nearly get relegated and the next season we come 2nd. Yep, it was when football was good. I remember that season well! We fell apart losing 3-0 at home to Wimbledon and 2-0 at Coventry within a week We also lost 2-0 at Man U. To be fair we were never quite good enough to win it. We relied too much on Mcgrath, Platt and Cowans. True. We never had a decent striker. We sold McInally in the summer to Bayern, and Olney led the line until Cascarino was signed, and that was a disaster. I think Adrian Heath had a few games as well but never settled. Doug signing Cascarino as he as £300k cheaper than Taylor's choice of Sheringham **** us up that season. Had we got Teddy we'd had been so much closer. Great player. I didn't know that. Thanks Doug

  5. Yes Henderson has a 3 match ban and dunno about Sturridge
  6. Yes they can't afford any slip-ups now and Everton away won't be easy. The pace of Liverpool will be too much for Chelsea i feel.
  7. I bet you would think differently he was playing for us. Would I ****. Supporting a racist, biting, cheating rocket polisher is a price I wouldn't pay to see this club be more successful, I'd sooner stop watching. He;s a disgusting person, and if there's any justice in the world he'll get what's coming to him. He's obviously a man with some issues but Rodgers has done brilliant with him because he's so supportive of other players like Sterling which makes him no racist in my view.
  8. I bet you would think differently he was playing for us.
  9. I do, he's a rocket polisher... I have never been bothered what they are like as people, all that matters is what they can do on a football field and Suarez is a genius.
  10. None of us know Suarez personally.
  11. That is a far more relevant stat as it shows the current squad costs and not something that happened before.
  12. Haven't bought the league? Henderson and Allen is nearly 30m! Less than how much Fernandinho cost, then. Did I say they spent more than Man City? No, but you did say that they had bought the league. Every club in the top 7 buys the league to some extent (bar Everton), if your idea of "buying the league" is spending less than 20m per player. If they win it, they have bought it. They have spent millions and millions over the past few years. It's all relative. When someone says that they haven't bought the title, the tacit implication is that they haven't spent anywhere near as much as City, Chelsea, and even Utd. Have Villa not spent "millions and millions" recently? We have to an extent bought (the little) success that we've had as well, it's just that we haven't done it as much as other clubs have. It's always a question of relativity. Average past 4 years: Chelsea 103m Man City 99m Liverpool 62m Man United 52m Arsenal 41 The 35 mil they wasted on Carroll bumped up Liverpools spending but they did recover 50 mil on Torres. It would be more accurate to see the net spending.
  13. Yes but there's levels of spending and Man City I hate because they have been taken over by the arabs they have ruined it for clubs like us. I don't hate City as a football club I just hate what they have done and if Liverpool can win it with a good level of spending but not rediculous then I won't begrudge them.
  14. Haven't bought the league? Henderson and Allen is nearly 30m! Ok I wonder what the cost of the City team is compared to the Liverpool one and they did have several home grown players like Gerrard, Stirling and Flanaghan
  15. I may be the only one to want Liverpool to win it then. They play attacking exciting football and won't have bought the league like City.
  16. Best game of the season. Yes some debateable decisions but I Liverpool just deserved it.
  17. Sterling has been sensational first half. So much pace in the Liverpool side and City cant handle it. They have grown into the game a bit though but Liverpool are so dangerous on the counter attack. Brilliant football
  18. Yep can't remember that ever happening before. We haven't lost to Sussex at home for about a 100 years.
  19. If he does half as well as those two players then that would be an achievement. Whittingham was probably the best player in the championship for a number of years. Ok he hasn't figured much under OGS but its no coincidence that they won yesterday when he was in the team.
  20. Regarding Cons suggestion, we've see with bacuna who maybe is just as quick, just how difficult it is to convert to fullback. Kenny Swain was the best example of turning what was a right winger into one of our greatest ever right backs but he had an astute footballing brain and that is the main area i worry about with Gabby. He doesn't read the game well. If he just watched Wayne Rooney and his movement then he might be half as good a player as him.
  21. I fancy Chelsea will turn Swansea over but the Liverpool v Man City game is so hard to predict. I think Liverpool being at home with the cop have a slight advantage and if Suarez and Strurridge turn up then I think they will win.
  22. If he gets his putting right today though. 11/1 not a bad bet.
  23. Yep this time last season he was on fire.
