In 74 Holland were the best side and didn't win it. In 1990 I think England were the best side but thats arguable I guess. Also in 54 the Hungarians were the best side but were beaten by Germany. Puskas was injured in the final i think. This one is so wide open, its diificult to pick a winner. If England can get through the group which is going to be very tough, i think we can do better than expected. I hope Hodgson is brave enough to drop Rooney if he is not performing.

Yeah. I thought appointing Pep was odd but hoped he would change his style to what Bayern and Dortmund had been playing because it's just better. But apparently not. Why is he making players like Robben, Ribery, Muller, Mandzukic play such heavy possession slow tempo shite? It's so obviously not suited to them. I mean they're still going to destroy everybody in the league because they are that much better than everybody else but they've not convinced me in a single game against top teams. Their performance at the Etihad was one of the best club performances I've ever seen and the performance by Hazard that night was as good a performance there has been by any player this season.

Regarding Benteke and Lukaku, i do think Benteke is more the complete player. At times you watch Everton and the ball bounces off Lukaku and he's not always in tine with the other players. He was in better form early season though.

Yes it must be. There's a lot on Lukaku's shoulders now. One player you couldn't do without is Hazard. Hazard isn't even half as important for us as benteke is our whole attack was build on benteke now were like a bee without an angle Lukaku is not ready to carry the weight of our team and ofcourse it sucks for aston villa to i hope wer going to stay in the PL Hmm.. that's obviously not true. What about Lukaku? Many fans of other teams would say he is better (if only by an inch) than Benteke, and they are pretty similar. Insane physique, speed and an eye for a good shot, they are pretty much interchangeable. Hazard is a world-class player good enough for pretty much every team in the world, he can change a game from nothing. Imagine him playing for Man City or Real Madrid, he would hammer in goals and provide assists just like the best of them. He is of course doing that at Chelsea as well, but we all know Mourinho thinks team/result before any player in his setup. At The etihad stadium, Hazard was simply brilliant, the best player on the pitch by a mile. Probably the best young player in the world.

Yep and although some people find Bayern boring, they kept pushing for the equaliser, right until the end of the game when they very nearly scored. Fair play to Real, they defended very well for 90 minutes.

Yes I just don't think Chopra is quite good enough for test cricket myself. There's an opportunity this summer though if Root doesn't open.
