A planet where he was asked by a journalist if he'd like to stay beyond his loan?
Do you think he called up the Birmingham Mail and said "I'd like you to write about how I want to stay at Villa please"?
Fair enough I should have read the whole article. I don't want him to play saturday. He's so slow, just doesn't suit our style of play.
I know but my point is people keep saying what if all the time.... What if Man City didn't have all that oil money? What if Chelsea didn't have the abramovich money? Its just a total hypothetical argument.
Yes and the annoying thing for me about 78 was that Cruyff decided not to go. That was a great blot on his copybook. Clough had a right pop at him for it. Surely Holland would have won that world cup with him there.
His family was threatened with kidnap and he was threatened himself which is why he didn't go. Family before football. Played in the qualifiers though.
Did the kidnap thing come in later because he definately never mentioned that as the reason at the time. HE said he didnt want to be way from his family for a long period like in 74.
I'm not on about tonight's game. The fact they parked the bus in the first leg and didn't look for that away goal which is so important is the reason they went out. atletico were always likely to score.

Didn't win the champions league with Bayern though! Nobody can knock his achievements but its good in this case that negative football hasn't paid off.
Argentina vs. Peru was fixed.
I saw Kempes play at the Hawthornes
Did you see Pele at VP?
Showing my age now but i was up the witton end but i was about 4ft then and all i saw was one corner of the pitch and have memories of Lionel Martin running in circles.
I remember at Derby in 2006 when the players were warming up before a one day game. Moeen Ali and Jim Troughton were both bowling spinners and I was surprised by the amount of spin he was applying to the ball. Obviously no Swann but his bowling has come on a lot and it helps to have the world greatest offspinner around. I think he's the most naturally gifted batsman i have seen come through the Warwickshire academy. Obviously Bell is better because he has a better allround game but I have not seen too many players just pick the ball off a length like he does. He has taken far too long to reach this level.
Another young lad I met a few years ago as a 15 year old was Ameesh Kapil. Not sure why Worcester let him go he looked a real talent.
