It's not often they award it to a player on the losing team, especially in the FA Cup final of all games. That and he scored a pretty damn good winner. He was garbage for the majority of it. No way I thought he was Arsenals best player. -

to be fair to Deschamps, I thought his explanation as to why he left Nasri out was very good. I tip my cap to him. What was his explanation? Di Santo over Icardi!? WAT!? Had a very good season Nasri. i'm very surprised by the exclusion.

I'm sure United are investing in a left back to replace evra......27 mil may sound a lot for a left back but when you consider his age and talent I think we'll look upon it as a bargain in years to come.

The thing that puzzles me is he has now been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation by the judge but how can his current mental state be the same as it was on the day he shot his girlfriend..... Just don't see how they can determine what his mental state was at that time. Ok if he'd been under the doctor and was being given prescription drugs like Tranqulisers or ssri's then fair enough...

Unbelievable..... Thought Matt knew better than that... He'll be 36 next season, already injury prone, well past it.. wages.... Loads of reasons not to get him.

Errrr? Yeah if we kept Lambert an Lerner!! Going out and throwing money at players on the wrong side of their prime is what got us into this mess in the first place. Yet people on here are shouting for Lescott & Ferdinand. I'd much rather pay £4m & another £20k a week for another young Okore then pay the wages that Rio & Lescott would want. It basically means we'd get 4 years service of a youngster than in theory should improve for the same price we'd get 2 years service of the other two who, in theory, will be in decline. Really have people said get Ferdinand?

I like it how we judge people we have never met... Yes we know things about their lives but that doesn't mean we should judge them forever for what they may have done in the past.

Too many cooks? The tika-taka style hasn't been too successful in European competition recently. I suspect Spain might be a big flop. This tournament may be more about freedom of expression than collectivist effort (the Spanish style). I really don't want Spain to win it again.... So boring...

Welbeck or Villa or Lambert or Torres. players that have done it in big games over the new Heskey or a plodding journeyman. England would bite for either of them 2 in their squad Welbeck is there for his ability to play as a wide forward as well - he can bring pace and energy from the bench. Villa is past his best. Torres or Lambert. Torres has scored 13 PL goals for Chelsea in the last two seasons. Lambert has 13 PL goals for Southampton this season alone. Yes based on what Torres has done in the Premier League this season theres no chance he'd be in the England squad. Villa I don't know!

Shaw is the best left back to come along for many a year. so why do you want to convert him to cb.. The game has changed so much that fullbacks play as wingers these days. You have holding midfield players to do the defensive duties....He may not have an explosive shot like Bale but he's probably ahead of Bale was at the same age....

true Con, that 2014 all Spanish Champions League final really has sent them backwards or that all Spanish 2012 Europa League final. don't know how they will ever recover The main players aren't Spanish though are they? They were thrashed by Brazil in that tournament final... I just don't see them as contenders.. xavi, iniesta, Villa, Torres, all past it...

true and Spain don't have any World Class defensive defenders. they are good on the ball and going forward but at the back they are a shambles. managers have figured out they can tailor their line up to be comfortable without possession and stifle the Spanish attack, and use a clone team of Jay Rodriguez to score tackle-goals. I think this is one tournament too far for Spain. I dont see them winning it....

I think he would be a more reliable performer than Rooney. He's not in the same class as Rooney. What we need is a fully fit Rooney playing at his maximum....

The 74/75 season will always be my fav... 20k Villa at Hillsborough and running onto the pitch after we had beaten them 4-0...... We were invincible at the end of that season.... Ellis thrown in the bath by the players also....

Yes Sturridge, Sterling and Rooney for Suarez..., Gerrard and Henderson in midfield, It will be like watching Liverpool....
