  1. You would expect a player like Messi to be able to handle that. Italy did the same with Sterling last night and he found a way.. Give him chance. 35 mins on the clock. true he's the Argentinian Rooney lol...

  3. I'm sure they just wanted Ballance to get his ton and they'll declare overnight Dave.
  4. Why was Phil Neville terrible? Sounded like his brother to me although not as good!
  5. Not Cook's way is it but I agree but it will do Ballance a lot of good to make his first test hundred in only his second match. I think he's going to have a long and successful test career but I see him as a number 5. Problem is Root has not had much success at 3. We could win this still.
  6. Not much longer I don't think. excellent innings from Ballance. still have reservations about him at 3 but anybody who averages over 50 in first class cricket has to be a very good player.
  7. Baines is not a good defender though and neither is Johnson. I actually think Hodgson was a little bit too attacking.... Joe Hart had very little to do in the whole apart from pick the ball out of his net twice... We had by far the better chances so i feel really dissapointed we lost this game... We could go through with a draw and a win but I think we really do need to win against Uruguay. So its up to Roy to pick a balanced team that wins the match, with or without Rooney...Tough call for him. A bit like 66 and Sir Alf with Greaves except Greaves was most definately not past his best in 66 and I think Scholes is right about Rooney...
  8. Not a massive fan of Milner like some on here but I think he should of played down the left last night. it would have given cover for Baines and I don't think the 2nd goal would have happened...
  9. We shouldn't accomodate Rooney. Sterling would destory Lugano. Rooney has no pace..... We must play Sterling in the middle
  10. Suarez to come on and and win a last minute penalty
  11. Lallana has been a bit dissapointing in the friendlies I thought. Is Suarez on the bench?
  12. I stand by what I said when he left us. He's ruined his career going to a team that won't play him in centre-mid. If he'd stayed with us, or gone to a team like Liverpool/Spurs, who might have played him in midfield, then he would now be one of England's best centre midfield options, with a view to becoming Gerrards replacement. As it is, he's currently known as being a work-horse winger/ squad filler who doesn't have the tricks of Ox/Sterling/Walcott etc, and who most people would rather not see in the team. I guess he's happy with league titles and a 100k a week salary Probably. But when he looks back on his time in the game, he'll be able to see how he dropped down the England pecking order before reaching his best years. Personally I think his best position is centre midfield. Never thought he was blessed with great pace for wide positions but in midfield he is certainly quick enough.
  13. Yes I think so and with 30 minutes to go with tired legs in that heat then they could make more impact that way.

  15. Listening to Hodgson I think he will go with Welbeck myself.
  16. Milner doesn't play centre midfield for Man City so he can't really be an option instead of henderson. The other option is Wilshere really.
  17. There was talk of it before. I think she would be good for the Labour party. but think she may have given up a career in politics for health reasons.
  18. I wish she would join the Labour Party. She was done over by George Galloway when leader of the Respect party. In person she is such a nice caring lady. We need more of the likes of her in politics instead of these public school politicians who don't live in the real world.
